I own a golf shop. I had a customer trade in a Hipti driver about 10 years ago and I've been playing one ever since. Over that period I've tried over 100 other drivers and not one comes close to the performance of the Orlimar Hipti. Having the correct shaft for your game certainly helps, but this head propels the ball both straighter and farther than any club I've ever played. Over the years I've tried several different Harrison shafts and settled on the 2.5 and 3.5 torgue Ultralites. Based on my experiences, I've sold over 130 of these drivers with a total satisfaction guarantee and have had only 5 returned. Most of my playing friends and family members play this driver simply because it's very long and stays in play!

Customer Service

I am "customer service" as I give the guarantee. The original Orlimar company went out of business because the USGA mistakenly misrepresented the company's club as being illegal, but which it later retracked.

This is a great driver for the price. I paid $40.00 for the used driver with a stiff Fujikura 60 gram with Mid kick point. This driver is aim and hit target.
This driver loves to go strait, but easy to hit fade or draw shots.I'm 64 years old and who has tried far too many drivers over many years that I could not hit well. Finally able to hit 65% of fairways in a round of golf with this one.I use the wilson Zip golf ball which I love and feels so sweet with this driver. I only average about 240 yards shots, but rarely miss fairways. I recomend this driver to all levels of golfers. Get the right shaft for your swing speed and you will love this driver

I am a very hard swinger probably because of the baseball years. and believe it or not but i use a regular flex shaft for this MONSTER!, I have gone to so many courses and used demos as well as gone to golf stores and used new drivers. the problem was that i thought the best name was the best club. (not knocking any brands there all good) i finally gave up and just used my 3 wood for a couple years. i can still hit my 3 wood 250-270 anyway. but its nice to stand on the tee block and hit a bomb that makes everyone go HOLY F*** nice drive. so i went into golftown and just wanted to pick up what ever was on sale and the ORLIMAR 420 hip ti. was on sale for $175 in 2006. i didnt care i just wanted a driver. the guy talked me into a high loft to try and help my slice. (he was right). they didnt have any stiff shafts so i just settled for the reg. flex. still to this day even with the new technology clubs i havn't hit a club that feels, sounds, and drives the ball as far as this club. I recomend this club to everyone but for the heavy swingers this is YOUR CLUB! I hit this club straight and in between 290-330 yards. i hit it this year 365 yards. farthest ever. my buddy and i steak it out three times because we couldn't believe it. BUY THIS CLUB!!!!!

Simply stated:This is the longest of all the drivers i've used(and i've used a lot & currently own over 20 drivers!)
It delivers a high-ish trajectory, massively long ball. Its a non-conforming club to the USGA & thats maybe why its so much longer than the rest of the field.. though having said that i 've hit another non-conforming driver(Callaway ERC II) & found it nowhere near the length nor the straightness of this club.I'm using the stock 55 gm orlimar shaft & its lighter weight could be another reason towards it being so long? However, this club is not only the Best Orlimar driver ever made but,in my opinion, the longest driver in the market.Whether or not you buy this i sincerely recommend you at least hit a few shots with it sometime during your golfing career.. you'll be very pleasantly surprised! It sits behind the ball as Tall & big as any of the 460cc drivers out there(except perhaps the Sasquatch)& its weight throughout your swing conveys an addictive sense of balance & power.

This is a great driver for a very little price. I see that is has 1* closed face as said above, does anyone know if this is exactly true? Anyways, after having this driver for a while, I was out at my home course playing a few extra holes before dark, when the head flew off. It caught me off guard but I grabbed the head, and later I took it back into Golf Town and it was replaced. I still have this driver but will be replacing it with the Titleist 905R 9.5* next summer. I reccomend this to the average golfer who is looking for a good, cheap driver.

Model Reviewed: ORLIMAR HIP TI 420 10.5* DRIVER

Wow tried her out for the first time ever, meaning Orlimar and what can I say here I am writing a review.

This driver has to be amongst my all time favorites which are the King Cobra's 427, 440 and FX 460. Also the Cleveland Sport OS 410 is another hidden gem. Anyway I had to clear the air and pay respects, however with fine tuning this Orlimar may be the best. I understand the 420 is an older model because they do have a 440 and 460 version but I am one to dislike the larger heads myself hence the 410, 427 and 420 come into play.

Been in and out of drivers lately because I fell in a slump, hell I went back to using my trusty Titleist PT 13* 3 wood which can bomb as well but today I got my hands on this Orlimar 420 Hip Ti version along with a Graffoly Pro Lite stiff shaft and this baby can bomb to say the least. In fact my home course today matched and surpassed a few personal records of mine, I don't know why because like I said I have been in a driver slump for the past few weeks.

In fact I fell in love with it soon after the round was finished I literally bought and installed a brand new grip on her so wish me luck out there.

I think the guys behind our group were scratching their heads on a couple of holes that I truly bombed the Orlimar on and now I got me scratching mine too.

I have always tended to pull or fade my driver a little bit. I cannot say that I am any different with this club. However, it hits the ball quite a ways. Yesterday I tested it against a Cleveland Launcher 460. Both of them were the longest clubs that I have ever used. The Launcher carried further, but if you try to over swing with it, you would not like the results. I can swing as hard as I like with this club and still like the results. I noticed that the face bulge on this club is tremendous. I do not think it is as forgiving a club as people make it out to be. There is a noticeable sweet spot with this club as opposed to another club like the Launcher. I think this club should be used by people with a handicap of 15 or less who have a little trouble with a slight fade or draw which they would like to straighten out. I hit some of the longest drives I have ever hit with it yesterday. I was extremely impressed. However, if I could figure out how to get 10-15 yards more roll with the Launcher, I would go with a club like that instead. This club provides great trajectory and distance but can be a little difficult to control at some times. I think as I learn to use it and possible reshaft it, I will like it more and more. If you hit the sweet spot on this club and you have at least a half-way decent swing, swing speed, and possibly shaft, this may be one of the furthest hitting drivers you will try. The club head is extremely hot and lightweight.

This is one hot stick. I test drove many other big name drivers, and this was my favourite. The feedback, especially for a big headed club, is incredible, it tells you where you missed it. And when you connect, oh man, it just makes you want to forget about the course and head straight for the range and an extra large bucket. It's also very forgiving, the penalty for mis-hits is minor. I'm no superman, but I was getting a straight 230-250 off the toe and heel. When I hit the sweet spot, 270-300 consistently. This is well up from my previous driver. It has a real nice look to it, and for a big headed club, it doesn't seem to dwarf the ball. The best part I saved for dessert as I thought the merits of the club deserved their own standing. I got it for only $98 CDN! This was 1/4 of the price of similar drivers I was looking at. You can't beat it at that price. The only con I had is the stock shaft is a bit whippy. But who cares, buy an Adila or Graffaloy and you're still ahead of the game. This is an awesome club at an incredible value and it's staying in the bag for a long, long time.

Model Reviewed: Orlimar 420cc 10.5* hipTi w/Aldila NV-55 Reg

Wow, I love this club. I'm a bit older with a slower swing speed (100-105mph), but find most regular flex graphite shafts too wippy. I've finally decided to go Ti and have been shopping. I tested several models including Nike, Titlest, Tailor Made, Calloway, etc. I actually tested the Orlimar factory shaft in stiff, which I understand is more like a regular flex (it felt like it). That club was only available used (like new condition), but it had lost the chilipepper weight by the time I went back for it. However the club was available at Dick's with the Aldila for a $129.00 closeout. I have heard that when the company was refinanced they reissued this clubhead with the Aldila shaft before they came out with the new model. So I took a flyer and bought it off the rack untried. Great decision, it's a much better club with the Aldila shaft. Straight and forgiving, a bit lower flight than the stock shaft and easily workable, I can draw or fade at will. Very, very long off the tee, I have had to move back to the blues at my club to keep from driving through the fairway. The other reviews are correct, a real sleeper that plays much better than other, more expensive clubs. Replaced by the new Orlimar company with the 440 hipTi, so these should be available at discount until they're gone.
