Nike Sumo 13* driver
Bought the head that was never mounted and put it on a Harrison Mugen No Limit R Flex shaft (Dustin Johnson uses an X flex like this). The 13* face gets the ball in the air but the offset has me fighting a tendency to go left. I rate it better than average with this combo - I have another head on the same shaft (Geek Fail Safe) that performs better. The offset would help a golfer that tends to hit straight right, I have to alter my normal setup to keep from hitting it left. Customer Service I have not contacted the manufacturer so cannot comment on service. Similar Products Used: Taylormade R5, R9, Hippo, Geek Fail Safe, Ping G10, and several made in my garage. |

Nike Sumo 5000
I purchased the Nike Sumo 5000 used from a team mate on my schools golf team mainly because I just wanted a different driver. The Sumo 5000 is a solid club and the weighting used for the moment of inertia technology is very evenly distributed and provides an extra kick and helps achieve a smooth swing. My only complaint is that this driver is heavier than most other drivers, and can therefore be hard to control for those with less upper body strength. As for quality, I have been using this driver at least 5 times a week for about 3 months and it has held up very well so far, it is a very tough club. Customer Service No complaints. MY REVIEW IS GEARED TOWARDS THOSE WHO CLAIM TO SHOOT WHAT THEY SAY. I WILL LEAVE NAMES OUT OF MY REVIEW. SOME SAY THEY SHOOT IN THE 80'S YET THEY HIT THE DRIVER OFF THE TOE? I MEAN C'MON! IT'S THE BIGGEST CLUB IN THE BAG AND YOU CAN'T SEEM TO HIT THE SPOT EVEN THOUGH YOU HIT IN THE 80'S?? YOUR REVIEW IS BOGUS AND YOU PROBABLY CAN'T AFFORD ONE. YOU'RE JUST MAD BECAUSE YOU TRIED IT AT GOLFSMITH AND THEY WON'T FINANCE YOU! WHEN YOU REVIEW A PRODUCT, PRICE IS ONLY A NUMBER. YOU CAN SAY IT'S A BIT OVERPRICED OR IT'S WORTH THE MONEY. OR MAYBE IT'S UNDERPRICED AND A STEAL TO BE HAD. (DECENT) IS SPELLED WITH A "C" NOT AN "S." YOU SOUND LIKE A GOOD KID, SO BE GOOD AND READ A DICTIONARY. OH AND MY LAST REVIEW... HOW DO YOU CONSISTENTLY HIT 250-300+ YARDS? 1-50+ YARDS IS CONSISTENT? Customer Service AMAZING!

Reasonably solid club. Purchased used off ebay as I am not to keen on spending $300+ on a club I'll only use about 13 times a round. If you put a good swing on this club and put the ball on the centre of the face, it will fly. I have 11.5 degree version and it is working out well for me. This club has an attractive look, however, the sound is quite harsh. That would be it's only downfall. I would not recommend this club to anyone who shoots higher than the mid 90s. If you regularly hit it off the toe or heel, you;ll get no distance and horrible feel. In a nutshell, this driver is pretty solid and a desent but for it's money. I recommend ebay or another online buying site as you could have quite substancial savings. Good Luck on the course! Customer Service Good. Headcover, grip and graphite shafts are all nice additions. This is my 3rd Nike driver. The Nex-ti wrap around technology truly works. They are by far the most forgiving drivers Ive ever hit. The 1st One I had was pre-nexti and was a very average club. The other was the ignite, a great club. The sumo 5000 has some funky asthetics and took some getting used to. I eventually tried ignoring the looks and imagining that I was hitting a classic pear shaped club and WHAM, it started working. This is a very long and forgiving driver and I would reccomend it. I am consistantly 250-300+ yds down the middle and easily 20+ yds longer than the ignite. If you are a high handicapper like myself though DONOT get the tour (pro) model. These clubs can be had at bargian prices now, I got mine new last Jan for $100.00. It will be staying in the bag for quite some time.. Similar Products Used: Callaway, Taylor Made, Orlimar, Cobra and numerous knock offs. Nike drivers rock!!! |
