Nike Ignite 460 9.5* diamana 83x
Wow, previously, I was playing Ignite 410 with prolaunch and very happy with it. Found this to be even better especially driving into the wind. I have tendency to sometimes launch it a little too high when hitting against the wind with prolaunch. Diamana fix that, the feel is superior and it hold the line very well. I love it.... worth every penny. |

Nike Ignite 460
Well, after a 3 year hiatus from golf, I finally made my return to the game. My first round this year was played with my old Callaway Hawkeye VFT 10*. I have broken this club twice, just by hitting it off the heel of the clubhead (I put a pretty good swing on it, so hitting a graphite shaft on the heel is a big no-no). So I decided to try something bigger. I purchased the Nike Ignite 460 with 9.5* of loft, and a regular stiffness YS-6 shaft. In hind-sight, I should have waited for the stiff shaft to come in, but I was impatient. Nonetheless... WOW!!!! I blow by my old Callaway by 20-30 yards regularly... And that's just with a 60% swing!!! If I let it rip, I am easily 80-100 yards past my VFT!!! Not only that, I'm almost always in the fairway with this thing!!! If I miss the fairway, it's usually by just a yard or so. The biggest advantage for me is that I'm not as scared to take a good swing at it because the clubhead is so huge. Going from 300cc to 460cc imparts a large amount of confidence in me, and I don't worry as much if I accidentally start hitting it on the heel (I just start lining it up against the toe of the club, and I find the sweet spot... couldn't do that with the Callaway :P). I hope to be back to my old level of play in a couple of months (my short game is coming back together, but at an agonizingly slow pace) and hope to be shooting in the 80's soon. This driver will be a big reason for it. The only other thing I plan on doing with this driver is having it re-shafted with a stiffer YS-6. But I plan on keeping this in my bag for a long time. I have a 460 10.5 with a MCC/Apache MS65 stiff orange crush shaft. My average driver swing speed is 110-115mph and it can go upwards of 125mph. I try to stay away from that last number because I lose a little control. If you want a long club then this is your baby! I have had the longest drives (and I mean monsters) of my life with this club. I have tested so many different drivers it's absurd. The 983K which is a great club, The Launcher, Redline's, Cobra's, Callaway's, Bang Golf, KZG(their 455 gemini is excellent) and so on and so on. Most golfers will never hit the ball 300 yards. How about 400 yards? Well I did just that in a tournament at the Primm Valley Resort last November. It was a two man tourney and my dad and I played well enough to be 1 stroke back of the leaders after day 1 so we would be paired with them the next day. All weekend I had been hearing about how good they were and was excited to play with them the next day. We had a skins game on Friday and the tourney would be Sat and Sun. I had a little trouble with my driver on Fri but hit some fairly reasonable drives. Nothing too exciting! Sat rolls around and I figured out what I was doing wrong on the practice range before our round. I was just consistenly crushing the ball over 300 yards all day long. I even drove a 345yd slight uphill par 4 on the fly(it hit the front of the green and rolled up the hill behind it). I was driving the ball so well that we had a hard time getting my father's minimum of 6 drives in. He would always hit first and I would just rip it. The drive of my life wouldn't come until the next day though and it was against the favorites to win the tourney. The scratch golfer I was playing was not happy to see a 9 handicap at the time rip the ball past him time after time and at the turn we were in their heads and about to go up by 3 strokes. We step up to number 9, a 439yd Par 4 with about a 15 mile an hour wind behind us, with a fairly level fairway. The competition goes first and the scratch golfer rips his pretty well and proceeds to let everybody know it. It looked fairly long and I said great shot even though he was a jerk! My dad hits his tee shot ok and up until this point I wasn't hitting my drives nearly as far as the day before. Well that comment by that guy fired me up and I told myself alright MR. Ego(that's what I was calling him) try this one on for size. I teed up last, and everybody walked off the tee, so nobody actually saw the moon shot including my dad. I stepped up to that ball and felt that I was just going to rip it, especially after that guys comment. I teed it up a little higher than usual and just wanted to get it up in the wind so it would go. Man did I put a swing on it, and if I can ever put a swing on it like that again than I will indeed be a blessed man. I know when I hit it that I had just killed it, but never in my wildest dreams did I expect to find my ball where it was. When I got back to the cart my dad asked if I hit a good one, and I said "oh yeah, it's out there". We found Mr. Ego's ball and it was a good tee shot at about 310. Very respectable and he was beeming, that was... until he saw my ball 90 yards past his. You should have seen the look on this guys face. Priceless! He was in complete denial that I blew it by him by 90 yards and didn't say one word to me. His playing partner who was a very cool guy said "you know they're testing for steroids after the round." I just smiled. When I finally walked up to the ball still in shock at where it was resting, I noticed a sprinkler head right next to it that read 39. So when I see that Nike Black commercial about those pros saying how far they've hit their ball, which I happend to be using that day, I always get a big ol' grin on my face. Not one says he hit it over 380. And when the one pro says he hit his so far that he saw landing gear deploy, I have to chuckle because on that one drive of my life I think I saw afterburners kick in. |

Just picked up the Ignite in October and I am impressed! Previously had a TM R580 and this is longer, but most importantly straighter. I play in very wet conditions so the carry is a must, I can't wait to see how long I can hit it in the Summer! It launches the ball great with little spin, and also very workable. Bought brand new on Ebay for just over $200. Great club, will be in my bag for a while. Customer Service not used Similar Products Used: Taylormade R580 |

Ignite 460cc, 10.5 deg
I recently purchased this model Nike driver as I was so inconsistent with my 983k -9.5 degree stiff. The 10.5 degree loft was a concern at first but once I starting hitting balls I found the trajectory to be absolutly perfect. Mine is fitted with a Penley Stealth 68 stiff shaft and this combination just seems perfect for me. I average 250 yards + carry with roll so drives are way out there. A little hard to work the ball with draw or fade, my standard shape with this driver now is pretty straight and you cant argue with that. I think I have finally come up with my perfect driver and now need to trail the T-60 fairways. Just picked up a brand new Lucky 13 from Ebay for $188.50. I was hesitant to purchase such a high lofted driver for fear of sending up some real rain-makers off the tee and having my golf buddies laugh at me. I was currently using the Cleveland Launcher 460 10.5º which seemed to go high, straight or slight fade, and far enough (220-240 yards) for my 80-90mph swing speed. Testing on a launch monitor indicated that a higher lofted driver might help so I demoed the Cleveland Launcher 11.5º which didn't seem to make much difference from the 10.5º plus it costs $300. I then tried the Ignite 460 10.5º. This is one big whopper on a stick and lookes even bigger than the Launcher 460 because of it's shallower face. I liked the way it felt (not as loud as the Launcher) and carried forever. Note that the standard Fujikura S flex feels like an R flex. I felt I could use a little more loft so bingo, the Lucky 13 was next. This big bomber not only sends the ball high (not too high, mind you) but also kicks forward and rolls a bit. The Launcher 460 never seemed to roll much. I also noticed that I couldn't really draw the ball intentionally with the Lucky 13. It just wants to keep going straight so I just aim straight down the middle. I've only hit the Lucky 13 twice at the range but I've been really happy with this club and for golfers over 50 years old (like me) this may be the ticket. Like my golf instructor once told me, "Loft is your friend". Now I can go back and work on my short game. Customer Service Never used it. Combine this driver with a good ball and you will be Amazed at what you can do. I am consistantly driving 250-265 with a 95-98 mph swing speed and a 10.5º loft (Super Loco or HX Tour balls). I kind of wish I could get this with a 12º loft, just to see what I could do with it. The Lucky 13 model seems a bit too much loft. I have been working my way up through the Nike driver line (mainly because they can be purchased so inexpensively on eBay). Tiger's driver woes have helped cause used Nike prices to plummet! I started with the old 350cc, then 400cc, then 450cc, getting progressively longer and straighter drives with each upgrade. My 460cc Ignite was built with a Graphic Design YS-6 R-Flex shaft which seems to have a bit less torsion than the stock Nike shafts or the Fujikura models. This made the club a little less "whippy" than the older 450cc model that I had learned to love and more controlable off the tee. The most noticeable difference is the sound of the Ignite, which is not as sweet and bright as it's older sister. This club has made me the long ball hitter among my golfing friends. It seems to be much more forgiving on off-center shots than other similar clubs and keeps me on the fairway more than I ever have been before. This club wants to do nothing more than hit the ball long and straight for you. I haven't hit ANY other brand of club better than I have hit this one! Hung up on owning a "Nike" driver? Get Over It!!! Similar Products Used: Nike 450cc Cleveland Launcher Titleist 983K |

After testing a multitude of the newest driver heads and shaft combinations there was one driver and shaft combo that(for me)performed far better than all others. This was the Nike Ignite 460 9.5-degree Driver w/ Aldila NV (S-flex)shaft. I was a little hesitant about hitting the 460cc head, but as I quickly discovered....this club absolutely DROPS BOMBS w/ extremely consistant ball trajectory. I was surprised and shocked myself, I've never been a big Nike fan. This is by far the longest and most accurate driver I've ever hit in my life. *ps: my swing speed is 100-105 mph. My carry distance with this club is a full 15 yards further than my 975J w/ Grafalloy Blue. The only reason I chose a 4 on the value rating was because the price tag is around $400. A little pricey, but the end result is well worth it. Way to go Nike! Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: Cleveland Launcher 400 w/Aldila NV(s) (Nice, extremely long), my second choice.
