My driver is 9.5deg with exar 50 stiff shaft which replaced my custom built 9deg Alpha rx460 with proforce 65 stiff shaft.

I bought this one on EBay for under 200$
so the price was right to give it a try.

My first impression was that the club has a very pleasing shape and easy to set up to . The driver automatically sits square when adressing the ball which is a nice change from my old driver. I was very impressed by the nice dulled ping sound that comes from the driver when hit. I sounds alot less tinny than the average titanium driver. I would estimate my average driving distance would be between 270-280 yards and after three rounds with this driver I can't see any noticeable change in distance. I did however notice an increase in accuracy from my old driver which surprised me since I thought I was fairly accurate before. I found at first my ball trajectory was a lot lower than it should be and I think the shaft may be the cause. I have made a few small changes in my swing wich seems to have help a good amount and I suspect it will be just fine come mid summer.

I think that players of any handicap would benefit from this driver and I have no problem recommending it to anyone.

Love this driver, its long and accurate. switched from the Titleist T driver, and gained about 10-15 yards off the tee. Not sure about the stock shaft, I had mine reshafted with an NVS shaft and now have an Acura shaft. I would highly recommend this driver. Best driver for the money.

This club is explosive my driving distance has increased to around 300 yards plus not to mention the improved accuracy. I have tried every other driver on the market and this is by far the best. My brother who is usually very poor off the tee tried this club and was hitting 270 plus, straight down the middle of the fairways, so he went and bought one himself as he liked it so much. I highly recommend this club to a golfer of any ability, its so easy to hit and the distance and accuracy is phenominal

Wow!!! Took it to the range for the first time today and I am impressed. I would say it is the easiest and most forgiving driver I have hit to date. Not to mention that it is long. This driver makes me look better than I am. In the past when I do miss it is usually a high fade. I can really tell with the draw bias built into the club. The best thing is I only paid $185.00 new on ebay. This one will be in my bag for a long time. Great Job Mizuno.

Model Reviewed: Mizuno MX500 Driver 10.5 deg in Stiff Exsar 50 stock shaft.

A tremendous driver. I got a brand-new 10.5 degree Stiff version for $200 in Dec 2006.

In January, 2007, "golftestusa.com" ranked the Mizuno MX500 #2 of all tested drivers. I believe that ranking is dead on. The MX500 is very forgiving, longer than the vast majority of drivers I've owned or tested, but most importantly, the MX500 is the easiest to hit dead straight at your target. The ball always seems to head DIRECTLY TO THE INTENDED TARGET! Its accuracy is unrivaled. Also, the trajectory is perfect for me...the ball gets up high and then flattens out for some good roll after ground impact.

I bought this club mainly because I fell in love with its predecessor, the Mizuno MP-001. I believe the MX500 is more accurate, forgiving, and flies higher than the MP-001, although the distance of the two is about equal (I still own the MP-001 as I've hit too many great drives with it).

I swing anywhere from 90-96 mph, so I went with STIFF flex in the stock Exsar 50 shaft. The Exsar Stiff is 63 grams and has 3.0 degrees of torque, whilst the Regular flex is 55 grams and 4.0 deg of torque (a little to whippy for me).

Model Reviewed: Mizuno MX 500 Driver Exsar 55 Stiff

For the last two years I've played with the Titleist 905T with Aldila 65g stiff shaft. Played as straight as any driver I have ever owned, but gave up around 10 yards on my drives. I am a fairly straight driver anyway and was typically hitting 240 yards with the Titleist. "Sneaky Short" I call it...I wanted more length and my club pro recommended the MX 500. I have found the 'Zuno to be a great club for that result. I've gained back the 10 yards on average that I lost on my drives. The head sets up very square to the ball. Has a solid sound and I hit it in the sweetspot more often than not. I contemplated switching shafts, but I have found the Exsar 55 to be a decent shaft. One of the previous reviews erroneously stated that the Exsar 55 is a 55g weighted shaft. The Exsar 55 actually weighs 63g according to the 'Zuno website. Don't immediately discount the stock shaft. Great club for the money...

Model Reviewed: Mizuno M500 - Exsar 50 Regular

After hitting my best round of 90 at my local course, I decided that I had mastered driving enough to warrant the purchase of a top driver (which might also help me cut out the odd outrageous slice off the tee). Plenty of research went into it, mostly from reading reviews. I went through the Golf Digest 2006 hotlist and narrowed it down to a few i wanted to try out. I tried the Nike Sasquatch, the Cleveland Launcher and the MX-500 (Couldn't find anywhere selling the Tour Edge Exotics Driver in the UK). The Sasquatch was an excellent club and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to hit the ball far and straight with ease. The Launcher not so much. Whether that was down to my swing, the shaft or whatever, it just didn't work. Then I tried the MX500. Outstanding! Seemed to fall around 5-10 metres short of the Sasquatch but that didn't matter. Every shot was right on the line. This club is so accurate. I was aiming for, and hitting, the distance markers on the range. Can't wait to take it onto the course. When I saw it on offer at Americam Golf for £89.99, my mind was made up. The Sasquatch is a very good driver, but for 2 to 3 times the price of the MX500, it was a no brainer. Went on the launch monitor in the shop, tried the Exsar and aldila shafts and didn't notice much difference so went for the exsar ('cos to be honest, who wants an orange, or even green aldila shaft?). Performance has been excellent on the range and I even somehow find myself able to work the ball right or left which I was never able to before. Got my first round in 2 days and fully expect to come out a comfortable winner against my usual partner.

Great club head when paired with the right shaft I found the stock 55 gram shaft to be too light and prone to twisting. After re-shafting with the UST ProForce V2 65 R the club works really well for my swing. Highly recommended.

Awesome club. I have never been able to hit consistantly straight shots at all. After getting fitted for a driver the Mizuno was by far better than the Ping G5 and the Taylor Made R7 draw clubs. Everything felt perfect on the swing. After buying it and taking it to the course I was hitting about half of the fairways compared to hitting 1 or 2 before. But what I was really impressed about was the distance. I was a 260-275 yard hitter with older equipment. Using this club I have been able to raise that average to between 290-305 yards.

If nothing else I definitly recommend trying this club. It works for me.
