The offset of the Cobra TI makes for bad hooks. However I bought a regulag set graphite shaft which straightened my drives and lengthened them as well. The only problem is that after 9 holes something inside started rattling. The manufacturer took it right back no questions asked and replaced it. I give this driver a 10 it wil improve anyones golf game.

When I got back into golf I had a slight slice, but my shooting has improved. Unfortunately this club is designed for those who break their wrist slightly and slice. Since this is difficult to do on purpose, I have developed a hellacious hook. Must agree with the others who advise to stay away from offsets. Just improve your swing. When I hit this thing straight it does travel 275 on a reg basis. Moving on to an Orlimar.

I have just started to play golf again after not having played over the last four years. I wanted to find a set of woods and irons (see my reviews on fairway woods and irons) that did not require a second mortgage to purchase, provided good performance, had quality construction, be controllable, fit my game, and would be consistent over time. I was absolutely shell shocked when I started my search at some of the prices being charged for drivers. Many top name drivers were $300 to $500 dollars just for the driver. I took lessons for 6 years from PGA professional Mike Wynn and he told me pros''s golf clubs were like stock cars. On the outside the stock car may look like a Chevy, Ford, or Dodge, but underneath because of all the modifications it was not anything like a Chevy, Ford or Dodge. Same with golf clubs, after all the modifications made by the PROs only thing similar to what we would buy is the name (e.g, Titleist, Taylor Made, etc.). After a session at a golf facility, the King Cobra Titanium Gravity Back tour model driver having a 9.5 degree loft, with a graphite light shaft, stiff flex seemed to fulfill all my requirements. I was not disappointed upon taking this club to the course. The ball rockets off the club either straight or with a slight draw (which is my natural shot). Control is wonderful and all shots are very consistent. I did find that I had to move the ball about one inch forward from my usual alignment off the left heal. This seems to have given me extra distance and made control much easier. Off center hits seem to do just about as well as ‘center cuts''. Off center hits do not seem to twist the club either. The Cobra club does favor a draw. I have not had much success hitting the club from the fairway. I have found if the swing is a little quick some nasty hooks can occur. Perhaps a heavier shaft such as the True Temper EL70 or the new bi matrix would help this out. The extra length shaft is very controllable and has not affected driving accuracy. Several reviews have indicated the club has a tin sound upon contact and provides no feedback. All titanium drivers have a different click – the Cobra is no different. I have found that a true dead center hit impart a definite snap versus a lighter click for off center hits. I do not find the sound objectionable. Only part of the club I do not like is the grip.
