Launcher 400 S
I am a consistent low 80s player. Recently decided to really upgrade my driver and hopefully improve my weakest part of the game, driving. Searched around and read alot of reviews. Decided to compare King Cobra, Callaway BB, Cleveland Launcher, and Taylor Made. After hitting all of them, Launcher really stood out. It felt really solid. I didn't really want to pull the trigger because hitting into the net doesn't really tell me anything about the flight and distance. The sales rep said I can always exchange it or get a credit if I don't like it, so I went on and purchased it. Oh, am I satisfy with it. The driver is so forgiving and it's very long. It goes as far if not farther than my current Titleist 975J driver, but with much much more forgiveness. My buddies tried it and they all loved it. Default Cleveland shafts are softer than most other brands out there and the Stiff shaft that came with it works great for me. I haven't started hitting more fairways yet, but that's my psychological error. I felt so comfortable with the club that I am trying to kill the ball all the time. I need to adjust and make sure I am swinging smoothly and everything will fall in place. Thanks Cleveland for making such a wonderful club. Really nice driver. Great distance when you tag it, but not bad when you don't. Stock stiff shaft feels good. I'm not good enough yet to draw the ball, but this club at least hits them straight for me, which is better than the "two fairway" slice. Very distinct crack when you hit the ball that takes getting used to, but you get to like it when you see the results. In my opinion, Cleveland makes very good everything, except for putters, which I haven't tried. Have recently changed my whole set to Cleveland, and am very happy. Customer Service Awesome. I don't hit the ball long. Maximum for me is 240 yds using a Callaway 10 degree Steelhead plus and recently a Quadpro 8.5 degree driver. Purchased the Launcher 400 Titanium from Apex Golf(thanks to Kevin for the deal) in San Gabriel and loved the club. 10 yards was added to my drive. I got the regular flex fujikura shaft that came with it, I have to adjust a bit because my swing speed is between 100-102 mph. I like the feel of regular vs stiff shaft. Some inconsistency may happen but I'll take it. I just don't like stiff shafts. With a bigger head, it comes definitely with more forgiveness. Worth the money but if you have a fast swing speed and don't want to adjust, get it with a stiff grafalloy shaft(the blue one). I'm not getting another driver unless they allow rocket boosters on the head itself. Love this one. Customer Service Apex Golf in San Gabriel gives good deals on clubs. GO KEVIN!!!! I demoed an 8.5* stiff and an 8.5* degree x-stiff before purchasing the 8.5* x-stiff. I have always hit a slight draw with my bad shots being hooks or pull hooks. I hit both the stiff and x-stiff the same distance 270-280 yards, but the stiff driver produced a hook when I would go after one, whereas I could swing as hard as I wanted with the x-stiff and could only produce a slight draw. The x-stiff also allows me to hit the ball lower and I can actually hit a cut shot with it. My average drive with other drivers is in the neighborhood of 265-275. The Launcher was only 5-10 yards longer which I contribute more to the ball flight that actual distance. I would highly recommend this club and the Fujikura shaft is the best shaft I have hit and I have hit them all. Cleveland 330
Have had this stick in my bag for about 12 months.I used to hit my old driver with a draw and the bad one was a hook. This one I hit very straight and pretty long with a low rolling shape but my bad one is a slice !! Maybe the shaft is too stiff.Good club with great cosmetics and feel ... the fuji shaft is prone to chips and scratchs.I would recommend it to anyone but get the shaft head combo right. This is the best driver I've played in a long time. I recently traded my Taylormade 200 series in for the Cleveland Launcher 330. Man it's great. I am honestly 10- 20 yards farther off the tee. Golf is great again! |

400cc Cleveland Launcher Graffaloy Stiff
This club has a classic look that builds my confidence. Very large sweet spot and miss hits are still long. If you have pre-2002 generation clubs, then this would be a great upgrade for the money. Anyone handicapper would benefit. I would suggest hitting the club with various shafts and lofts because that is the performance difference. No doubt that the head is good. I have the graffaloy stiff shaft with an 8.5* head and wonder sometimes if the ball flight is too low. If you swing hard and hit the ball 250+, then I would suggest getting at least stiff because there is some lag due to the large club head. Compared to my past to the 975D, the 400 launcher is 10-20 yards longer on average - but the key is the length consistency is much greater with the launcher. I have the erc 2 and I can hit that 290+ yds, but only 1/10 tries if I'm lucky and lets not talk about the 1/10 duck hooks that go 150yds! I find it tough to work the ball - if you swing easy/smooth you can do it but who wants to do that? The club has a closed club face maybe about 2* but it is very subtle - I find that it promotes more of a draw but sometimes find myself hitting playable straight pulls or pull draws (could be just my swing and grip). For the price, just get one and enjoy. Hit'em straight. I hit the driver maybe 1 out of every 15 times I tried in the past. I went to Edwin Watts in Boca Raton and loved the customer service. I took one of these launchers for a demo and now bought it. I never hit one of the "new" style drivers and thought they were too big and light. I swung this club at a half swing slowly and still can hit 200 yards. Easiest and most forgiving club EVER. It has totally changed my golf game and outlook. I hardly had to break out the long irons yesterday. I let my buddy hit it and he plays maybe 2 times a year and the story was the same, pure straight long shots with minimum effort. I can't wait to hit it again. Seriously folks you will not be disappointed. Customer Service Don't know |

I decided to give the 330 and the 400 a try after reading the reviews on this club. I was using a Ping TISI (Great Club) with a Penley shaft. I took both Launchers to the range and hit them beside my TISI. Both Launchers were more consistently accurate (Straight). I never thought I would get more distance than with the Ping, I was WRONG. The 330 is about the same as the Ping in distance. The 400 on the other hand is about 20-30 yards longer. My average drive was 280 with the Ping. My average drive yesterday was 310. This is the most accurate longest club I have ever had the pleasure of swinging. GREAT job Cleveland for producing such an AWESOME driver.
