Bought this driver and took it to Myrtle Beach, on the first tee I split the fairway about 290 and never looked back! My old Titleist was all over the place, this baby was long and straight nearly ever time, and the ones that did miss still kept me in play and did not result in a lost ball. Not only gave me another 25 yards but also boosted confidence so much that I was hitting driver on holes I normally won't have. Even my friends were amazed at its power and accuracey, one even went out and bought one. His 240 drives are now in the 280 range, he shaved 4 strokes off his game already! Highly Recommend.

Exceptional driver. I traded up from an old Wilson Deep Red II (not as bad as you'd think) because I had fixed some swing problems and was looking for more feel and distance. I picked up a 10.5 degree Launcher 460 with the Aldila NV65 in regular flex and got two notable results. One, I added a solid 30 yards to my (95mph swing) drives. Equally impressive, I found that I could work the ball at least slightly so that my typical drive is a 250yd slight draw instead of my old 210yd banana. Great club at a great clearance price as Cleveland makes room for the HiBore driver.

This club is an incredible club if what you are looking for is carry. It probably has a bit to do with my swing mechanics, but I could tell on the course that my ball had way too much backspin. I always have hit a medium trajectory ball that rolls quite a bit. However, I could not keep this driver's trajectory down. This would be a great club for someone who has problems getting the ball up. I have NEVER hit a driver that has left a backspin divot mark in the fairway. Today was the first time. If I were buying a club based on forgiveness, feedback, and ease of hitting, this would be it. I could tell whenever I made a mistake with it because it would obviously not go where my target line is. It's sweetspot is very forgiving and large. Believe me, I do not hit the same spot on the face of the club every time. Very few people are that good. However, distance was always about the same. I do not think this club could be defined as very "workable." I am not good enough to hit a draw on command (I can fade though). I think a club such as the Orlimar, which I will review later, is much better for "working" the ball. It was consistently around 5 yards longer than my Orlimar Hip Ti 420. If Cleveland (or I) could figure out how to get more roll out of it, it would be deadly. Before using the Orlimar and Cleveland, I used a John Daly Hippo driver. That thing was a piece of cr*p and both of these drivers outdrive the Hippo by 25 or so yards. You can get these drivers fairly cheap now. I believe they are a bargain. I am giving this driver 4 stars for performance because of the fact that it backspins the ball so much more than other drivers which I have hit.

Like everyone else I have tried many drivers. However I have never found a driver that is better than my titleist 983K. That is until I tried a launcher COMP at a demo day. It had a Aldila NV 65 stiff shaft. The difference is more around its accuracy without compromising distance. There is no greater feeling than standing on the T box knowing that most drivers generally stay on the fairway, and are long irrespective of what part of the club face is used. I'm not sure that my drives are longer but they are certainly straighter and consistent (length wise). Do yourself a favour as they are super cheap at the moment.

I got this driver (10.5 deg, regular Fujikura shaft) used on Ebay for about $125 because I wanted to try a 460cc driver for a while. I've been playing with a Titleist 983K and previously a TM 360, and to tell you the truth, I'm not seeing a dime's worth a difference as far as distance or accuracy; in fact, I hit them all about the same length as my 15 deg 3 wood. As a 20 handicapper with an 80 mph swing, I'm getting about 190y total (more when the ground's hard). You guys getting way over 300y must be getting a lot of roll! One thing for sure: this sucker is LOUD! People move away from me when I hit this club at the driving range.

Model Reviewed: Cleveland Launcher 460 9.5 stiff

I own the Cleveland Launcher 460 titanium, 9.5 degree with the lime green Aldila NV Stiff Shaft. I've used the driver once at the range and once on 9 holes so far. It is safe to report that I'm already out-driving my old driver by at least 30 yards carry and that's in Winter! I imagine when the jacket comes off and the weather warms up it will be more like 50+ yards and very close to 300 yards with roll if not further. The Green Aldila NV Stiff flex shaft is in my opinion the best shaft available. The original Cleveland Gold Shaft is made by Fujikura and is a bit more flimsy (and ugly). The Grafalloy Blue shafts are a bit lighter and stiffer and are quite excellent but may be better for scratch golfers instead of the mid-handicapped golfers like myself. I feel the Aldila is the best balanced shaft for this clubhead, plus it looks awesome. The sound and feel that this club produces when you hit the ball on the screws is unmatched. Unlike the dull thud of the newer Taylormade's or the tinny clink of the newer Adams or Macgregors, this thing screams with authority and the feedback is awesome. The excellent feedback is likely due to such a clean design, the energy transfers right into the shaft. The look is clean, simple and classic, unlike the stupid look of the new Nike drivers which look and feel like cheap plastic. Or the new Mactec or Taylormade drivers that look like erector sets with screws and weights all over the place. The bottom line is, I'm a research junkie. I researched and demo'd many different clubs and this, by far, is the best driver available.

Got this on EBay with regular stock shaft in 11.5 degrees. Hit many balloon balls with 20 yards less distance than my Taylor Made 580 Driver. Reshafted with the UST Proforce V2 65 in regular shaft. What a difference! Drives are long and mostly in the fairway. The Taylor Made with stock shaft sprayed me all over the place. I am really glad I read the other posts here about how a really good shaft upgrade can make such huge difference. Any new driver I get in the future will come with an upgraded shaft.

I decided to try this just to try something different and because I was thinking of replacing my Taylormade R-580, so I tried the R-5, worse that my R-580 in distance and forgiveness, Adams Redline, no pop, 20 yards shorter than my R-580, so picked up this Cleveland 9.5 with a graffaloy, prolaunch, stiff, first swing nothing to brag about, but once I adjusted for the slightly shorter lenght, WOW, nice easy swing to as not embarras myself, slight high draw, when it hit the ground, took off, 14 swings later, I returned the club to the rack, logged on Ebay and picked it up for $140.00 (golf shop wanted $200 for the used one and 299 for new) brand new, am a 10 handicap and 3 of my swings at 90% went about 320 to 330, and two stayed in the driving range, rest at normal swing measured at about 95 to 100mph, average 275 to 285! if you want to pay the bucks for the hype of Taylormade or Nike or Titlest, go ahead, but if you want incredible distance and forgiveness, buy this driver.

I've had this driver for a year now, so this here is a completely honest review. I started the season with this driver in the stock gold shaft. As the first month with it went on, I noticed too many of my drives were snap-hooking to ther left. I talked to my local pro about the issue. He told me to take a few swings with it while he video-taped my swing. All the fundamentals of my swing were fine, but he said I got into problems at the top of my swing, the transistion to the downswing. He asked me how the shaft on the driver felt. I told him I feel it flex way to much at the top. He then told me that the gold shaft was way too whipy for the swing (116 mph swing speed) that I have. So, he hooked me up with an Aldila NV 75 stiff, which is a much heavier shaft that plays like an x stiff because of the weight. Now, I'm hitting the ball a mile with deadly accuracy. I hit at least 10 fairways a round, and misses aren't off the course. Ball flight is a good mid tradjectory sailing drive that gets many looks at the range. So, in conclusion, this driver is great. But, don't buy it with the stock gold shaft if your swing speed is high. Instead, get one of the aftermarket shaft options put into it, and you will be pleased.

Customer Service

Great. Bought it brand new for $180 at a golf show. But, then I had to drop $130 on a new shaft.
