First off, the stock shaft sucks. It doesn't fit my swing, so i put a Harrison Pro Ultra lite shaft which does. In my opinion, their are a lot of golfers that can't hit their $300 dollar drivers. Mostly because these companies care more about the head, than the shafts. Their's no doubt in my mind, you can become a better golfer with the right shafts. After replacing the shaft, it made it easier to cut and draw. The face looks a couple degrees in, much like the Cobra 440. This, in my opnion makes club draw bias, and makes the ball go bye bye... Cleveland Launcher 460 Aldila NV 75-S
I picked up this club based on reviews posted at this site and GolfDigest's Hot List 2005. In a nutshell, this driver is long and very forgiving. I used to play about 1 - 2 rounds a week. Swing speed 105mph, about 240 - 250 carry (with an occasional 300yd+), slight draw (nasty hook when off my game), about 60% fairways. Now, life only limits me to play 1x/month (if that). I used to hit the Titleist 983K, which is a great club . . . if you're on your game. I loved this club, but found myself struggling with it recently (due to decreased rounds played). Growing increasingly frustrated with my game, I picked up the 460 Launcher. I used it yesterday for the first time (9 holes). Although I didn't have a spectacular driving day, I was hitting straighter and same distance as the 983K . . . when I was on! I was absolutely floored at how easy and long this club was. In fact, by throttling my swing down to 70% - 80%, I found little distance loss (10 yds) and accuracy went up. Launch angle is much, much higher than the 983K, but the ball comes off hotter. And like the Titleist, the look is simple, pear shaped, and for whatever reason, it doesn't really look like a 460 driver. I'm still an 80's shooter, but that's because my putter has been saving me lately. With the 460 Launcher, I should find more fairways and hit them pretty deep, which means more GIR's and lower scores. My swing is a bit faster tempo than normal, and the NV seems to be a bit weak (which is partly the reason I throttled my swing down). I may trade this in for the Graffaloy Blue shaft. Either way, I can't wait to start playing more regularly with this club! Customer Service Not needed Similar Products Used: Titleist 975 JVS and 983K, KZG Gemini 355, Callaway GBB II |

Launcher 460 9.5 Stiff Aldila NV
I have played with many different drivers in the past two years and this is the best I have found. Spend some time getting fit for this driver on a launch monitor is you have access to one. I did and it really helped me to pick between the 9.5 degree and 10.5. Stiff 65g NV shaft is great but can be a bit flimsy if you have a quick 100+ swing speed vs. a Els style fluid 100+. Must have a smooth swing for the shaft, if not look at a tip stiff shaft. I hit 5 more fairways with this club per round. Customer Service Never had to use them. I have the Launcher 460 10.5 deg with an Aldila NV65 stiff. It is by far the easiets driver there is to hit. It does launch high but the ball carries a long ways. Great head and shaft combination. |

I restarted playing golf in July,2004 after laying off since 1998. Didn't know what driver to buy. Had been using an original GBB,9.5. So I bought a Bang 460 10.5 and was happy with that til one day on the course, a fella in the other cart wanted to swap drivers after 4 holes, just so happened he had a 460, 9,5 stiff,Fujikura stock shaft Cleveland Launcher. I hit every fairway with it and even hit about a 340yd fade on one hole that plays 360 yds. I only have a swing speed of about 94-95 mph. My Bang has a 60gr shaft but is 2 inches longer with a mid-kick reg shaft...feels so heavy. I was shooting 90's, now I'm in the 80's. NO HYPE... this is truly the easiest driver I've hot to date. I average from 240 to 280 yds, some higher, some lower. The question is .. do I buy another one with a lot less loft to go even further? Customer Service Not needed, been using it only 5 mos. Launcher 460 10.5 Aldilla NV 65R
In my opinion this may be the best all around driver on the market. I have struggled along for the past 4 years trying different drivers without much "consistant success". This driver has given me that. For the most part I have made the fatal error that most of us have made when it comes to this game and that is thinking you can do something that you actually are not able to do. For me this was using a driver with too stiff of a shaft and not enough loft. I have been clocked usually at about 98 mph with the driver, very borderline, so I always went stiff. Not a good move, harder to hit and less distance. When I decided to try something else I put my ego aside and did some real research. My local range has demo clubs to try so I tried a Launcher with the stock Fuji shaft in regular flex and it was really good. Not every shot was perfect but my dispersment shot to shot was much better than with my current driver. One thing I noticed was that it seemed to be really "launching" the ball high. Although this is very impressive to look at I didn't think I was driving the ball as far as I could. The stock shaft has a very low kickpoint which will promote a higher ball flight. I wanted to bring this down a little and I knew that the Aldilla NV had more of a mid kickpoint. I borrowed a Launcher 400 from a friend with the Aldilla shaft in it and that was exactly what I was looking for. However the smaller headsize is less forgiving. The next day I ordered the Launcher 460 10.5 loft with the Aldilla NV 65R shaft and haven't looked back. I will still make some bad shots but I feel that this club has helped me eliminate a lot of them. High launch, distance, control, not much more to be said. 460cc 9.5 degree Aldila NV stiff flex
I took up the game last year, and compulsive buyer that i am, had to outfit myself with the latest and greatest. The 3rd new driver i tried out was the Cleveland 460, and it doesn't look like there is a need to try a fourth. I would recommend this club to almost anyone unless you are looking to work your driver. It's extremely forgiving, and has helped keep an overswinger in the fairway. It does have quite a bit of distance, not as much as the long drive clubs, but more than others i have tried. The Aldila NV shaft helps keep the ball flight down, as this club launches high. Instead of being a club for swingers or for hitters, this club turns hitters into swingers, and gives great results. It keeps me in the fairway, keeps me down the fairway, and gives me confidence to hit the big stick. It is hard to mis-hit this club, but when you do, say goodbye. The Aldila shaft is great, although the Fujikura is good for those with a low ball flight. I would recommend this club to anyone, and feel that it was worth the money more than any other driver in the price range, but 300 bucks is a lot to spend on any club Customer Service No experience Similar Products Used: TaylorMade 200(straight, but not long at all) Nike 275cc(terrible feel, hard to hit, but crushable) |

Before I bought this driver, I was constantly shooting 98-101, guaranteed. Could not get away from this score. Drives would slice everytime, adjusted my speed, stance, you name it, I've tried it. My irons, no problem. I knew I could do better. Decided to buy the Cleveland Launcher 460. Took it to the range and immediately saw and heard a difference. This wood is very intimidating, the driving range was silent. Drive after drive 280-315 down the middle. My first round shot 94. Next round shot 88. I have never broken 90. I wanted to retire that day. Third round.....i'll let you know Customer Service I paid $246 brand new after some bargaining. Great club, it will improve your game Similar Products Used: Great Big Bertha- Overrated Taylor Made 580 - ehhh!! |

I'll admit that I'm a club wh*re up front. But I finally think I am done switching drivers. I'm a small guy with about a 100mph swing and I got an extra 5-8 yards with this club on the ball launch monitor over my previous GBBII. No other club I had tried previously allowed me to hit it further: Taylor 5xx, Ping, Titleist, etc. On top of that, this sucker really is forgiving on off center hits. The S-flex plays more like a firm, which is fine for me, but most fast swingers will what a custom shaft. Great stick! PS. Try the 400cc version if you want something that looks more like the TM 7series....but I'm done trying clubs....really:) PPS. only $300 new...not a rip-off like TM. Amazing club! I had a problem hitting drives to the middle as i either push the ball to the right or hook. With this club, i've yet to push a drive and now there's a gentle draw to every well struck shot. The stock shaft, Fujikura Regular, is excellent and i did not bother changing it. Before i was averaging about 230m with my old driver but with this babe i'm averaging 260m. A little roll and i get 290m. This babe is awesome and extremely forgiving. Off center hits are still straight and long. Love the loud sound it makes. This is a club for those who want extreme carry distance. Balls fly high, and i mean, really high. Only problem i have is when there is headwind as it is difficult to drive low with this club. I'd recommend this club to anyone. Customer Service Haven't tried yet.
