Cleveland 460 Comp
I own two Cleveland Comp 460 drivers. The first is a retail version 10.5 degree with the Graffaloy Pro Launch R shaft (low bend point). I have played with this driver for about 9 months. It is a very forgiving club with a solid feel at impact. The face on the retail version is slightly closed. The other driver that I just purchased on EBay is a 9.5 degree tour issue version with an S Fugikura 652x shaft (mid bend point). The tour issue version has a square to slightly open face. The combination of loft and shaft of the tour issue version creates a lower, boring trajectory which works really well here in Arizona where the courses are mostly flat and the fairways tend to be hard. I do tend to hit the retail version somewhat left and once in a while hit it right. However, I rarely hit a truly bad shot with it and it carries further than the tour model. I like the Cleveland Comp heads because the ball feels very solid coming off the face and it doesn't make a ping or loud sound. However, I really suggest trying different shaft and loft combinations. The bend point and flex of the shaft makes a significant difference in terms of the spin imparted on the ball and the height of the ball flight. The difference in yardage from the worst to the best selection in shafts might be as much as 40 yards. So I suggest trying to find a 'demo day' or a club fitter to help with the process. I think you will find the Comp is a real 'go to' driver. I used to fret over my driving, now I rarely think about it. I know I'll be out there where I can make a good score. Incidentally I have tried the new Launcher 460 at a demo day. I still like the Comp model much better. Customer Service No comment. Similar Products Used: Titleist 983K |

Cleveland 460 Comp. 9.5 Stock Stiff Shaft
I read review after review, tried driver after driver, and finally decided on a Cleveland 460 Comp. 9.5 degree head with stiff stock shaft. I have tried about every driver on the market with every shaft. I was hitting the Titleiest K with stiff NV green shaft. Was hitting everything high and right. I have had Ping, Callaway, TaylorMade, Integra, Cobra, and many others. None compare to the foregiveness or length of this club. I was told the stock shaft sucked. I totatlly disagree. For me it has been very consistant. My swing speed is around 90 and it works fine. You can count on it being consistant time after time with a good swing. I gained about 15 yards over the 983. But even better I am playing fromt he short grass much more often instead of out of the right high handicapper zone. Give the club a try, I think you will love it. Customer Service Have not had to use it. But I have heard it is very good. Cleveland Comp 460
This is a follow up review. After trying several other drivers, the Comp is back in the bag. I tried several shafts in the Comp, and surprise, I am back to the factory R flex 55 gram. I am kind of in between shafts, but I prefer the smooth swing/fairway to the big swing/maybe. The S flex is 65 grams so there is a big difference... the R flex factory Fuji is a bit light, but not as whippy as many R flex shafts. If they made a S flex in the 55 gram, I would like to give it a try, but I am satisfied, and have hit several over 325, so who can complain? I really didn't like the Aldila NV in either S or R flex... the R was extremely whippy, and the S, to me, had a poor feel and no snap. Pro Launch also just didn't have it for me. I think you REALLY have to find the right shaft for yourself, the performance is so different. But once you do, the combo of distance and control the Comp has is just super. The Taylor r5 dual N with factory S flex is the closest, but just not as long for me. Now that the price has come down, grab one! I got mine brand new on Ebay for $175 shipped, a great deal. Cleveland 460 Comp 9.5 Grafalloy Blue Stiff
I've always been deep off the box, so I was just looking for some better consistency off the tee, and I have a winner with this one. If you can't hit this driver well, find another game to play. Workable when it needs to be, but hides bad swings from your playing partners. This is truly the best driver I've hit, it's staying in the bag for a long time. Low-cappers: I recommend getting an upgraded shaft to the Graf blue (mid-kick), or Aldila NV or NVS (high-kick, mid-kick) versus the stock Fuji (low-kick). The head design for these clubs gives a high launch already, the low kick stock shaft can give it a little too much height; depends on your game though, that is a good thing for many swings. Wow, this is great driver, longer and straighter than any I have tried. I waited a while to write this review as to give the driver a complete test. In my opinion this driver delivers. Be sure you get fitted for the right loft and flex. Their standard stiff flex which I purchased initially gave me an inconsistant ball flight, I exchanged the driver for one with an Adila NV shaft and also a stiff flex I got a much better trajectory and ball flight. So that worked for me. Cleveland has several options I am sure, so be sure and check. All I can say is there really is a benefit to the new golf technology and one solid hit with the Cleveland convinced me. This club helped my game, I am 54 years old and now out there with the kids half my age. Customer Service I haven't used them, I use the local pro golf repair shop. Graffaloy Blue ProLaunch stiff, loft 9,5. I think this driver feels quite different from the other drivers I have used through the years. It is definitely draw biased (but the clubhead doesn't sit closed), and it is very easy to hit a high draw with this club, you get that flight effortlessly, which for me was not the case with my former driver. High flight without the ball ballooning, even into a head wind. It is by far the most forgiving driver I have ever owned, and you don't feel you have to kill the ball to get a long, strong flight. It is amazing how attractive the clubhead looks taking the 460-size into account. Also, I think the sound is most pleasing, it is potent and solid without being intrusive. One of my friends has this driver (10,5), and I gave it a try (with no though of buying a new driver). Howver, it was true love from the first shot on the driving range. It is very easy to get used to (it is going back to your old driver, which is hard). I think this club is worth testing for just about everybody. Only reservation is a player who's basic shot is a fade, as a fade just doesn't come natural with this club (for me at least - but I truly believe it has to do with weight distribution). Very, very good product, strongly recommended. Good job, Cleveland. Customer Service NA Similar Products Used: Titleist (various models), SnakeEyes 600T. |

great driver. I've owned two of them. I had the 9.5 with an x flex mitsubishi diamana 63 shaft. I hit that too high and lost some distance, although very accurate...I play in Kansas, so wind is a huge deal with me. I then started playing an r7 tp for the last 6 months with a speeder 757 shaft. I sure loved that club, but it just wasn't quite right for some reason. So a month ago I built a launcher comp 8.5 with an UST Accra x flex shaft, 44". I am 18 yards longer with this setup than I was with my previous comp, and 12 yards longer than The R7 TP. I know it sounds backwards, but it is easier for me to work the ball either way with this club over the R7. Like everyone else says, look at shafts. They're more important than club heads. All these club heads are good anymore, just find one that fits your eye. Customer Service cleveland clubs are a great product at a very reasonable price. Similar Products Used: r7 tp, 905t, cally 454, ping g2, big bertha 415...I've owned all of them..the cally's were junk as far as having a penetrating flight. Really like the Titleist and the Taylor Made. The head shape on the TM just isn't quite right, and I would leave it open sometimes. The Titleist would be in my bag if it were 10 yards longer (same shaft same day computer comparison)...look forward to the new 905R 460cc version. |

Launcher Comp; 10.5, Regular
Up until recently my long game was non-existent. I had an overly exaggerated banana ball that off the tee I usually hit 5-w and was in the fairway 60% of the time. With much sweat and blood I finally am hitting fairways with the driver 60% of the time with my “old” TM 580XD. On a whim I bought this club because I found a sweet deal on e-Bay ($155.00). First trip to the driving range: wow… no, I mean WOW! This face is much “hotter” than the TM, I am swinging easier, I am hitting straighter… All in all I am much more confident with this club. If I was lucky I would carry 245 yd.s, with minimal roll, with the TM; but I really had to work at it. Now, I average at least 160 yd.s and the only time I really get into trouble is when I get enthusiastic and end up with a snap hook. The feedback I get from this club is packed with information and it is much easier to figure out what’s wrong with my swing and make the necessary adjustments. With my newfound confidence I trialed other drivers that are currently out there. The Callaway 454, Ping G2, TM R5 and 7, and the Titleist 905T all feel good but I still am more confident with this club. Golf is much more fun now that my second shots are more manageable. I still am dumbstruck as to confidence I feel hitting with this club. I think it is time to go to the launch monitor and find out my spec.s are (launch angle, swing speed, etc.) and what is optimal for me. Even though this club is working well I want to be more consistent; perhaps maybe a shaft change. Try out this club, it is a blast.
