Cleveland 400 Driver
Great driver. Averaging 300yd drives when I'm not slicing/hooking which is 50% of the time! Only tweak may be to shaft but its fine for now. The classic appearance, performance and value of this club make it a club I'll be hanging on to for a while. Customer Service Great. Bought in Hawaii, live in New Zealand. Developed a rattle in the head (?glue), exchanged for a new one after futile repair. Similar Products Used: Swing change has made biggest difference so can't really compare. |

Great driver, I usaually drive around 290 without wind, this driver really sounds nice even on mis-hits. I'm switching drivers however, not because i don't like the driver, i mean i love it, but i have Wilson irons, so I am going to buy teh new Wilson driver. |

I just bought the driver online after testing the 460 model in the shop. I'm a bodybuilder so I'm not really flexible and I always slice pretty bad while using any driver. I hit right around 200 with this driver and only a moderate slice. It's really worth the money though. I would suggest trying out the Mizuno MP-001, I hit a lot better with it, but it was $150 more. This driver is consistently the longest and easiest to hit of all titanium drivers I've ever hit. It's a perfect size and looks traditional. I would love to have the Grafalloy Blue in it because I love the dynamic feel of the shaft but my buddy hits the same driver as I and he has no problem at all consistently hitting 290 - 295 yard drives with the stock shaft so I can't blame my inability to hit it better than 265 on the shaft. Having only started playing golf again for the first time in years, I started back with clubs that didn't necessarily meet my needs as a high handicapper. This came in the form of a Nike Titanium 275cc 9.5 loft driver. I couldn't hit it for the world, not surprisingly. So recently I set out to find another driver. I tried out a lot, no matter the price range, and the one that felt far and away the best was the Cleveland Launcher with stock graphite shaft. As luck would have it, Golfsmith had these on sale, so I jumped at the chance. And I'm totally glad that I did. I saw immediate improvement in my ability to get the ball up in the air, hit it for decent distance, and, most importantly, curb the horrible slice I had developed. There may be other drivers out there that could perform the same, but since I bought the Launcher there isn't any reason for me to keep looking. It'll stay in my bag. Cleveland 400 Launcher
Great club. I hit it for the first time a few days ago, and prior to it, I had developed a pretty nasty slice with my $60 driver. Paying $180 for it was a bargain, as the first time I hit it, I played a slight fade with ball flight at about 215 (250 with roll). Want to know where to get one? Don't try my house, because I'll be locking it up after every round. Long, straight, and comfortable. |

I bought this club after hitting 3 other drivers on a previous day, then returning a couple of days later and adding the Launcher 9.5 degree to the mix. After only a couple of swings I knew this was the club for me. Felt much better and flight profile was much better than the others. First trip to the range, very dissapointing. I was hitting the same low hook that I hav been hitting for 5 years with my old (very old) driver. However, today I finally got to actually play. During warm-up on the range, I was absolutely killing it. Carry was usually about 250. Flight looked perfect, but I wa s hitting it into a hill area, so roll was difficult to guage. On to the course. Beautiful. Wonderful. I could not have hoped for better. My worst shot was toward the toe, but ended up about 250 yards down the middle. My playing partners would say "You really hit that one" after each drive. I could not be more pleased with this club. And it looks good, too. Mine came with the standard gold shaft (stiff). I've read several have poo pooed this shaft, but it's working very well for me. My avg swing speed is measured at +/- 112. I think I can play better with a club that looks good to me. I have stayed away form large head drivers for a long time. This one is 400cc, but doesn't look that large. The design and colors looks very good to my eye. I paid $179 for it, and well worth every red cent. Customer Service unknown Similar Products Used: none really that similar that i could name specifically. |

After trying just about everything out there I was still searching. We all want more distance, but more than that I wanted consistency, both in trajectory and shape. This Driver was preceded in my bag by a Wilson Deep Red Tour II, 7.5* with a Grafalloy Prolite+ X-Stiff. This club was pretty much the real deal but I could occasionally lose it either way. The Cleveland 400 solved that problem. Mine has an Aldila NV-65X (X-Stiff). I guess this review may be as much about the shaft as the clubhead, certainly they make an awesome combination together. I hit this club on a very similar ball flight to the Wilson despite the extra degree of loft (presumably due to the shaft). This club is long, and very repetitious in ball flight. I carry it around 290-300 with a flat flight. I prefer to hit a fade but this one prefers to go dead straight. It will turn over but the high draw and this club don't go well together. This one will be in the bag for a long time, Very highly recommended. Customer Service No experience with Cleveland, bought on eBay. OUTSTANDING...First time out I hit 11 of 14 fairways (Great for me) and dropped 10 shots from my average of 94. This driver was LONG and CONSISTENT...unbeatable combination. My playing partners are used to my slice and kept waiting for my ball to disappear into the woods, but my drives kept splitting the fairways. All my other drivers that I have are now on e-bay. GREAT CLUB !! |
