Callaway X460 Driver
I first bought the X460 because I wanted to upgrade from my Titleist 983K. I liked the looks and the feel of the club and I have always loved anything Callaway, so I went ahead and got it. I was impressed with my distance however I was very inconsistant.

I bought this club in my local golf shop after the pro in my golf club recommended it to me.I took it out and found it hard to put it anywhere but the fairway.the head makes a dull sound at impact but is one of the straightest drivers out there. Callaway X460 driver
This club is easily the best driver I have ever owned. I haven't even owned it for a full season, having bought the driver in the early summer, but it was well worth the money. I am a huge Callaway fan and have used a Steelhead III for a couple years and loved it, until the X460 came along.

Callaway X460 9.5 driver
Just an update of a previous review. I now have a new shaft in place, an Accuflex VS 339 X at 47". It has a high kick point. The improvement in performance is definitely in terms of length. The ball flight is lower and the roll is greater than with the stock Fujikura 45" S-flex shaft that was in it before.

I have been hitting a Taylor Made R5 driver and decided to trade it in for an X460...I'm glad I did. The 2 degree closed face has helped to eliminate a slight push I've had. Guys at the driving range were watching me hit it because they heard the distinct "ping" sound when the clubface made contact with the ball. Drives are longer and straighter than with my Taylor Made. I've had a X460 Hot 3 Wood in the bag for about a month and have had such good perfomance with it that the combo of that club plus the new X460 driver should really get me down the road and make golfing fun. Go get one! They're great clubs. |

X460 Tour 9.5 w/ Grafalloy NT Pro-Launch
I played with set of Callaway Demo's at a convention I was at and from the word go, this driver struck me as the best feeling driver I had ever hit. Everything I hit went straight and long...I mean long. My SS w/ driver is appx 115 so I play X-Stiff shafts. I was so impressed that I went to the local PGA store to test it out compared to others i had recently hit in the course. I had a very favorable experience with a TM Quad R7 with the Puirple Ice in X-Stiff. Well, I get on this launch monitor/simulator without anone tinkering with the setting to make it look like you are bombing all your woods over 300. I tested the Nike Sasquatch w/ the Diamana...OMG, I was greatly disappointed with this club as the feel is aweful. I used to hit the 350,400, and 450 forged and they were excellent clubs. I will never hit another SQ as it is a heap. I tried the King Cobra drivers and was pleased, I tried the TM R6 425 and 460 and was pleased as well. The only draw back to this club is the muted feel as it doesn't feel too lively. I tried the latest Adams Redline (club I was currently hitting) and loved it, but i expected that. I tried the Titleist 905R and was pleased with it. Now, I have heard and been skeptical of reviews and people claiming to gain 15 yards to 20 yards simply by switching to a different driver. The monitor told me what i suspected. I hit most of these clubs within 10 yards of each other but I averaged my longest consistently with the Adams and Titleist. The Adams didn't penalize me as much as the Titleist on mis-hits. Then I tried the Callaway x460 and x460 Tour. Oh what a feeling. It instantly reminded me of "back in the day" when i got my first Great Big Bertha! Sweetest feeling club, great feel, lively spring off the face, and that "oh so lovely sound!" The beauty of it was that I was instantly hitting the ball 15 yards further! No IF's, AND's, or BUT's! I was truely amazed. Mind you, I made it a point to hit the clubs with the same shafts and lofts. When it came down to it, I got the best, most accurate, and longest results by far with a 9.5 X460 in a Grafalloy NanoTech Blue Prototype shaft! I can promise you I have tried a lot of drivers and this one will stay in my bag for a very long time! I will keep my Adams Redline as a spare as that club has served me well. I can reiterate that the shaft is what makes clubs. I have always stated this and those of you guys buying clubs with stock no-name shafts are wasting your money and will never know what you are missing. My progression has been from the Old School EI-70 Tour Stiff to Graphite Design Purple Ice X to a Grafallow ProLaunch Blue 65X and not to the Prototype ProLaunch NanoTech X.

callaways x460 tour 10 deg
try this driver at golf shop with launch monitor and with different shaft option. Was impressed by the performance of Fujikura TP stiff with 10 degree loft combination. My swing speed usually in the range of 90 to 100 mph and my usual loft selection is 9 deg, however, this combo produce most consistent pattern and yield an avg 280 to 300 yard drive. I end up purchase 9 deg and thought this would give me even longer distance, got the driver by mail and couldn't hit it consistently at all. Make sure you try different head with different shaft and with nowaday oversize head, 10 deg might be enough to give you optimal distance so you can avoid the guess work I had. I am enjoying this x460 tour driver now. Customer Service never used Similar Products Used: tm r5 dual n, ben hogan cs-10, titeleist 973k, |

X460
Oh my goodness. I currently have both a 10degree big bertha titanium, and a 9degree steelhead driver (both of which I love), however it was time to upgrade to a bigger badder driver. Having an open mind, I demo'd the TM R-7 draw and was stunned to find it 30 yards shorter than my existing drivers. My SS is in the low 90s, and my long drives are around 240, with an average carry of 215-220. The R7 was only getting me 180 carry, the same as I hit my 4 iron, and landing just as softly. When I took it back, I went back to the always trusty Callaway, but was most interested in the FT-3 Fusion. The salesmen talked me into the X460 as he explained the specs. I took it to the range, and instantly starting bombing 220+ carry, and most surprisingly, on a more consistently accurate basis. I'm talking about that sweet ping, and a red hot ball off the face. I think the X460 is the missing piece I've been looking for! |

Callaway X460 10* fujikura reg
Ok, very rarely do i write reviews, unless I'm blown away by a product. I went to a local golf shop to decide between the Ping G5 and the X460, I haven't been able to hit a driver in a couple of years (owned the Callaway GBB, BB titanium and presently MacGregor NVG) with the NVG I developed a horrible slice that I could not cure. I hit my trusty steelhead II 3 wood about 240 so I stop even trying my driver. I had some time today so I decided to try the G5 and the X , I started slow because a back injury 85 to 93 mph swing until loose then my swing speed went to 99 to 106 just normal swing and every time the X kept getting straighter and straighter by the way only a couple of my drives sliced with this club so I was sold, with the G5 with aldila nv reg every now and then, I could hit it about 5 yards longer, but it was one straight out of five slices and hooks very inconsistent (by the way I was using a monitor that measured my swing speed, launch angle, deviation from centerline, clubhead trayectory, spin rate and of course distance. The X460 10* with stock fujikura reg was the one for me, I tried the stiff shaft, the prolaunch reg and stiff, the G5 with different shafts and came back to the X Reg shaft combo. Also tried the Cobra Mspeed Fspeed the Hibore, the FT3, and for me, none of them compare to the consistency, distance, take off angle and dispersion that I was getting with the X460 (did not try the TM, I tried them before not a big fan of the screws) so I am sold I want to try it first in the driving range and try the X460 with an NV reg shaft before taking the plunge. by the way the distance that I was getting constantly in the monitor was about 245 cold (88 to 95 mph ss) and 275-285 with loose back (99 - 106 mph) at $299 in stores and cheaper on-line is a great deal (considering TM has an $800 driver !! crazy Customer Service I've used Callaway's customer service and I have to say it is excellent (compared to MacGregor's which was just ok) Callaway have taken care of me twice no questions asked, that is one of the reasons I own Callaway irons, fairway woods and hybrids aside from they are quality products that work for me.
