Callaway X460 Drivers

Callaway X460 Drivers

DESCRIPTION

This all-titanium, 460cc driver is designed for longer and straighter tee shots. At 460cc, the new drivers combine a CT/VFT Face, Consistent Alignment Sole and patented Callaway Golf technologies. That combination of technology makes the X460 the longest all-titanium drivers Callaway Golf has ever made.

Model Reviewed: Callaway X460 9 degree

I bought a used Callaway X460 9 degree driver with stock Fujikura stiff shaft at Golf Galaxy for $230. After hitting it at the driving range a couple of times and playing 2 rounds with it I realize it's a great investment. I had been using a Titliest 975J 8.5 degree with a stiff grafalloy prolite shaft. I could hit it ok but just wanted a bigger club head for more consistency. I didn't really expect to gain much distance but boy was I suprised. I could hit the Titliest about 275 yards and thought that was about my max. I was wrong. I'm bombing the X460 290-310, and that is no exaggeration. I'm now convinced that new technology really does mean something.

Model Reviewed: Callaway X460 Tour

I purchased a Callaway X460 Tour 9.5* Stiff Graffaloy Pro Launch 65. At first I thought this was just a standard upgrade on the previous Big Bertha 454, but after half a bucket, i realised that it is 5-10 yards more accurate, with a bigger, confidence inspiring **PING**!
Distance is hard to tell at this stage, but i decided to get a Graffaloy Pro-aunch 65S, as my usual ball flight with a Mitsubishi Rayon is Low to Medium, the Pro-Launch has the lowest Kick Point going around, which equals to high trajectory and is evident in initial tests (15-20 yards more carry).

So far this Driver has proved to be excellent in terms of aesthetics, accuracy/distance, and bang for your buck!! The only problem i have is that the top line arrow looks more towards the heal, rather than center at address...

With out doubt, you can definitely find the right shaft for your swing without paying extra.
Choice of different standard shafts (2 Fujikura's, Pro-forces, Graffaloys & Aldila's etc)
I believe you can get Speeder shafts for like under $50 factory fitted, but 1-2 week wait is a pain :)

Got this driver since 3 weeks, played three rouds with. Amazing forgiveness, amazing distance and what a sound at impact!!! Driving early in the morning and you wake up everybody around. Definitly a very good club, reducing slice due to high MOI and helping for draw trajectories. I bought it to replace my old Taylormade R360 (coming illegal in competition for europe area). For the moment, to compare, I would say that the X460 is more forgiving but the gain in distance is not evident. Perhaps it is due to a higher COR in the TM R360 (0.86) or simply due to a lack of experience with the Callaway. To conclude, I'm more confident with the X460 driver (11 regular with fujikura) than using a wedge. Who could say that 20 year ago with the reign of Persimmons wooden drivers ?????

Model Reviewed: Callaway X Driver

Callaway continues to improve it's driver lineup with the X. The setup is great primarily because the sole makes the club easy to align. Further, from the top, the 400CC head doesn't look like an oil can on the end of a stick. Would strongly recommend an upgrade in shaft. If you don't need 11 degrees of loft, consider the tour model because of the many available shaft options. You can tell when you hit the sweet spot and so can everybody within 50 yards. Sounds just like the old ERC. In fact, this club may be the much improved son of the ERC because the ball just explodes off the face. Long and straight and you can even somewhat work the ball with the X. Absolutely, without a doubt, more than worth the cost of the club.

I have used Callaway drivers and woods for several years. I love them. Last year, I replaced my GBB II 380 cc with a 454. I had just gotten the xtour irons about 2 months ago after about a 15 year stay with ping irons. I heard about the X460 due out in March. I ordered it without even hitting it with a YS6+ 360 stiff shaft in it. This is the engine that works for me. I have played about 7 or 8 rounds with it now. At first I had a little adjusting to get used to it. I had ordered it with the shaft I had in the 454 which i loved, but the X460 came with a new YS6+ shaft. Same specs, but felt slightly different. Hence the adjustment period. Now, I have to tell you, Callaway just improves! I love this driver the most of any. It is way longer than the 454. Drove a par 4 green at a local course that i have never before. Constantly finding myself beyond my usual landing distances. Almost seems unfair when your hitting wedges & pitches into par 4's for yor approach. As the review before mentioned, a shot on the sweet spot is rewarded by a solid twhack. I'm Sure we all will be hearing many more raving reviews. If you want to hit it long and straight and love Callaway woods or even if you don't, try the X460. With the right shaft for your swing, I can't begin to imagine anyone not liking this club.

I bought this club because if looked cool. I have been fitted by Callaway so I knew my specs. I bought a 10* stiff with the Fujikura (spelling?) Shaft. I did not know it has a 2* closed face, to my surprize. I have played 2 rounds with this club and it was worth every penny. It is long and straight. Almost too long. I hit a ball into the water on one hole, the water being 275 straight away. I hit the water and started laughing, my playing partner asked why I was laughing to which I replied, no matter where it goes, it is fun hitting the ball that far....

Purchased the new callaway X460 w/ graffaloy pro launch s65 stiff shaft w 10 degree loft.Had a Ping G2 w/ same shaft. Ping was more forgiving, but the Callaway is longer. You know the sweet spot by the sound, but mis hits are not too bad.Ball flight for me is a slight draw and I get more roll.Very east to align due to sole plate design.Face on the standard model is slightly closed which seems to help me draw the ball.I can fade it, but it is harder to do with this club vs. the Ping.Overall I feel good about this club due to added length and easier alignment.Good job callaway. IM GAY!!!!
