Steelhead III /3 wood (red)
This club is one of the best woods i have ever hit i bought a vft last year and i now think that i will be using this 3 wood of the tee instead almost the same distance and much more accurate, the feel off the face is very nice as well i ike the "ting" sound it makes when hit pure overall a great club Similar Products Used: Steelhead plus 3 wood, hawkeye vft 3 wood, titleist 3 wood, taylormade 200 series 3 wood, ping i3 3 wood |

I think that this club is a very low quality for Callaway Golf. I have caved the face in on 2 of them with in the past 4 months. Callaway had been real nice with customer service but it still is an aggravation to me. Customer Service Great customer service. Similar Products Used: Hawkeye, Steelhead, Steelhead III |

I have hits this club w/ good accuracy and distance. I usually hit around 250 and would probably get more distance if my shaft was graphite. After a year of playing, the club head broke off. Never expected a steel shaft to shatter after hitting a golf ball. It was a good club but maybe Callaway should increase their quaility of the clubs. |

Callaway Steelhead Plus 10 Deg.
Very straight and accurate. Recently used in a local 4 man scramble and won the longest drive contest against many of the quote long drivers from the area. Hit this one 315 yards but quickly noticed somthing wasn''t right. The face caved in and bent the shaft. I had always heard that Callaway was known for having shaft breakage due to their design. My swing speed is in the 115 to 120 mph range with the steel shaft.... Customer Service I took my driver and 3 wood back to John at Custom Golf and traded them immediately in for a New Cleveland Launcher 10.5 degree.. I have since sent 2 e-mails to Callaway Customer Service Department w Similar Products Used: I''ve tried them all.... |

Steelhead + 9 degree
I first chose the Steelhead + 10 deg (reg)after demo vs Hawkeye 10 degree (reg)in July 2000 (to replace Greatest Big Bertha 10 deg - NO ACCURACY). I could hit them both about the same distance with more accuracy vs Hawkeye. I was hitting consistently 250+, straight, with occasional 270 yard drives. I reached my first 500 yard par 5 in 2 (Steelhead +: 270 then GBB # 3: 230). In 2001, I lost 20 yards distance and accuracy was gone. 2001 was a frustrating season - could not hit fairways as I started to swing harder to add the lost distance. I just decided to order a new 9 deg with UST 65 shaft for more accuracy (what could I lose at the price?). In comparing the 2 clubs, I discovered the face had flattened on my 19 month old club. Have not yet hit the new club, but I expect good results that will not last that long. Be wary of metal fatigue in VFT steel woods. The thin parts fatigue, the face flattens and there goes distance and draw. Will most likely end up using Cleveland Launcher this year. Wow... I don''t really know what to think of it yet. I have a Cleveland Quadpro that I have had very good luck with... extremely long. But the Callaway sounds way different, feels way different, and is simply more difficult to hit (and I thought I was a decent golfer...) I know that it will help me straighten out some and crushing distance will come soon. I''m excited about it. I''ll have to learn it. Customer Service Golfsmith is a great store if you can catch price mismarks. Their loss = Your gain. Similar Products Used: Cleveland Quadpro Titanium (10.5*), Cleveland Quadpro Dual Rail (16*)... LOVE that club. |

None Oh my gosh! You have to get this club. I''m a 13 year old who used to drive 200 but now can blast it over 220 yards! Thats a 20 yard improvement. This club looks great at adress, and the dark blue paint on the top of the clubhead really make you concentrate on the face. It makes a perfect ping everytime you hit it. This club is accurate AND gives good distance, contrary to other reviews. A must buy, especially since Callaway is coming out with the Steelhead III models and stores are puttign the plus''s on sale. Customer Service havent had to deal with them Similar Products Used: None |

10 degree driver & #5 fairway wood

None I love these clubs! They are the first woods I''ve had and I''m extemely happy with them. I can hit 275+ with the driver and easily 200 with the 5-wood. The grips are very sticky, which is nice, but they seem to wear very easily. Sometimes the driver can tend slightly to the right, but I am a 24 handicap so I think that''s me, not the club. One of the nicest things about both clubs is the sound when you hit them - PING! Fabulous! Even when you shank them you still get that cool sound, which makes that mulligan that bit easier (heh, who said I can''t have a mulligan?!). Similar Products Used: None |
