I used to have problems hitting overly hooked or sliced balls most of time I went for a golf round. Moreover, though I didn't have lack of distance problem when I was using a driver, my ball couldn't fly to a level it should be. After I bought a new Hawkeye driver 2 months ago, I can hit the ball more accurately and get the ball airborne. I think I find the game more enjoyable when hitting the first shot from the tee. I also can reach par-4 green in regulation many times.

I'm using a 9 degree with a stiff UL shaft. It's a good club. Easy to draw and fairly long carry. Tends to 'balloon' because of the low center of gravity with very little roll.

I have a very powerful swing and I hit the golf ball a long ways. I hit nearly every offering there is when I was in the market for a new driver. In the end there were two drivers that clearly stood out. The Titleist 975 and the Callaway Hawkeye. I really liked the Titleist, but even the stiff shaft was too whippy for me and I sprayed the ball to both sides. The Hawkeye hits more consistent shots for me with about the same distance. I have had this club for about 6 rounds and have had several drives over 320 with a max just shy of 350.

The bottom line is to hit every club you can get your hands on and pick the best for you. I really wanted to like the Titleist more because I play 990 irons and a 975F 3 wood but that just wasn't the case for me.

This club is costly but it can be found at a discount over the internet. Besides, the driver is the club that everyone likes to hit well so its worth it.

Someone gave me a good trade in on my Callaway War Bird driver so i decided to spend some cash on a Hawkeye. This club instantly added 30 yards to ALL my drives! It is much more forgiving, much easier to hit straight (I had a slice), and i am much more confident with it. I am really happy with this club!...well, unless i start thinking about what i paid for it. But i still love it and would recomend it very much.

above average but annoying that the shaft is so sub standard. I've swithced to a UST 75 gm in stiff and the club doesn't ballon as much but I hate hitting it into a head wind. If I could return and get my money back I would.

nice driver for someone who fades the ball, but not for someone who has a draw. If you draw the ball that will turn into a snap hook. very hard to fade the ball with this club.

This club is scary long with the ball making a nice "popping" sound off the club face. Callaway suggests that this club is for "better" players but I would add that it's ideal for a "stronger" player too. The clubhead includes a new tungsten plug that is 10 grams heavier than the standard Hawkeye plug and requires some strength to get the desired result. The extra weight at impact gives the club a lot of snap. Also, I don't "lose" this clubhead in my back-swing like I did with my lighter FireSole driver. Kinda pricey, but worth it to me. I would average about 270 yds and max-out my Firesole club at about 300 yards. I routinely average about 306 yds with this Hawkeye driver and have maxed it out at 342 yards. It's extremely easy to use on fairways, too since the sole set-up is identical to my Steelhead 3W and 5W. Go get it if you've got the muscle and the dough!

I bought this Driver because I got on so well with the Hawkeye fairway woods.I draw the ball and this club just turns that into a duck hook.I am now trading it in for the Pro series where the tungsten screw is in the same position on the sole plate as the fairway woods.Do not buy the Hawkeye if you draw the ball.
