I brought this off a mate as I heard that there were a bit useful off the tee. Not sure if all your American fairways are 500yds wide, or whether they are cut like marble floors and you play with a constant 130 mph tail wind, but 300 - 330 yard AVERAGE and 90% of fairways hit!!!! nice dream world. As for people playing with 6.5 and 7.5 degree drivers and wondering why they don't hit many fairways...Ernie Els only plays with an 8 degree and he's a bloody PRO. The club is great the shaft has'nt broken yet and if i hit a real corker(1 in 50)...I might manage 280 genuine yrds down hill-down wind, but i am content with my average 230-240ish. I am 6.3" and weigh 190lbs so there for no slouch...and would most definatly recommed this club to any honest friend who was'nt going to bore the bo11ocks of me with stories of how he drove an average of 300 yards hit 90% of fairways and still shot an 85+. According to those stat's your irons and putting must be worse than your ability to measure a drive in the first place....apologies to the honest golfers who really do hit tose distances.

I'm going to keep this short and simple. This is Callaway's best driver that they have made EVER! I mean, with the ERC and the VFT and Steelhead+ and Hawk-eye... THIS ONE BLOWS AWAY THE OTHERS. This club is more forgiving, longer and is very useful for "chipping". The factory shaft, to be blunt, sucks, so I switched to a Graffaloy 4.0 or something like that (I'm not big into shafts) and I added 10 yards and 25% more fairways to this already great club. It's a shame that they discontinued this, so you will have to hunt for it, maybe on Ebay or Ubid, something like that...or maybe a used sporting goods store, but be warned, this club goes fast. BUY THIS CLUB!!

My first meeting with the GBB was at a stupid little golf course my friends cousin was the pro at and he was carrying a 7.5* and he offered to let me swing it. I was previously hitting a Founders Club Judge about 250yds..First swing, I drove the uphill Par 4 9th hole measuring 330yds. I begged my dad to buy me one after he bought himself one. Finally he gave in and bought me this driver 4 years ago and Ive vowed to never switch. I hated the factory shaft and replaced it with a graffaloy that really helped with the control. Just last weekend, I had a Bi-Matrix True Temper put in. Everyone who owns this club should have this shaft. Ive added about 15 yds and am now hitting close to 90% of the fairways, and thats even when I really step on it. I can put the worst swing on this club and still hit it straight and long. Great Club...I dont see myself switching drivers for a long while.

I am reading these post here and could only imagine how many of them are hackers. When I read how this club is straight or how it is not, I believe that 99% of the time it is the golfer. It is not the club. I hit my GBB pretty straight 90% of the time averaging about 240-250 yards, but it is not the club, it is me. I can pick up any of my friends' drivers (975D, SuperSteel, whatever) I can hit it pretty much straight. How it feels is a different story.

Also, i have played quite a bit of golf and with many different people in my foursome. I have noticed that the average score in general for these golfer is probably in the high 90's at best. And unless only the much better than average golfers (in general) post here, most of you need to add about 10-15 strokes to what you think you shoot.

The GBB is the best driver ive played with without a doubt. i have a pro series shaft on it which also adds to the consistency of strike. ive used it for two years and intend to change it this year, it will be hard to replace.

i played this driver for 5 years. good driver. but i had a tendancy to hit it to high. i decided to sell it this year. i wanted a steel headed club with a better shaft. i have ordered an orlimar9.5+ with a proforce 65. should get it this week. will post review on it soon.

This is my driver. I like the weight and the size; it's not too oversized like the BBB or 975. Callaway shafts have to be the most inconsistent shafts in the world, and I don't think you should ever judge a BBUL shaft's stiffness based upon Callaway's designation. I play a firm shaft for now, but I might put a graffalloy in it. Great trajectory, can still work the ball decently (not as much as a 976R), and can hit this one off of the fairway pretty well. You can pick these up real cheap now, $160 for a used in great condition is not uncommon.
