Callaway FT-i Drivers

Callaway FT-i Drivers

DESCRIPTION

The Callaway Golf® FT-i and FT-i Tour Drivers represent a quantum leap in driver design. To exploit our proprietary Fusion® Technology — the superior weight-shifting science developed by Callaway Golf that uses multiple materials in clubhead construction — the design demanded a new shape. With the revolutionary 460cc Complete Inertial Design, the FT-i Driver pushes the boundaries of shape, of our imagination, of the rules. This design precisely positions weight to the extreme corners of the clubhead, producing the highest Moment of Inertia of any Callaway Golf driver, resulting in unparalleled forgiveness. Our largest, most robust CT/VFT Titanium cup face is designed to the legal limit as defined by the USGA Characteristic Time test, resulting in increased ball speed, distance and forgiveness. Also incorporated into the FT-i Driver is the OptiFit™ Weighting System that produces three center of gravity configurations: Draw, Neutral and Fade, enabling golfers to choose a combination to best suit their individual game. The FT-i Tour Driver features a slightly open face angle for a look preferred by more accomplished players. Designed by the industry’s leading minds, the FT-i Driver will break barriers of performance, distance and forgiveness.

460cc Complete Inertial Design
Positions discretionary weight to the extreme corners of the clubhead, raising the MOI for unparalleled resistance to twisting both horizontally and vertically, providing forgiveness on shots hit all over the face.

OptiFit Weighting System
Enables golfers to customize their driver by giving them three different CG locations to choose from in most lofts: Draw for promoting a draw or reducing a slice/fade; Neutral for maximum workability; or Fade for promoting a fade or reducing a hook/draw. Fusion Technology
Proprietary technology creates maximum perimeter weighting and more discretionary weight for precise positioning of the CG and exceptional stability on off-center hits, enabling ball flight customization for optimal individual performance. CT/VFT Titanium Cup Face
Modified version of VFT® Technology in which face thicknesses are designed specifically to maximize performance under the new USGA Characteristic Time test, resulting in our largest most robust face for increased ball speed on shots hit all over the face.

Carbon Composite Body
The material used to make the body is significantly lighter than titanium, allowing Callaway Golf engineers to move discretionary weight where it is needed most, resulting in better stability and distance.

I tested this club at my local pro shop about five or six times. Finally, I broke down and purchased one at a local demo days. I just couldn't believe how well I hit this driver. The club feels solid when hitting it off the tee. I hit one drive after another dead straight. I wold pick an imaginary fairway at the driving range and almost always hit it in the zone. I'm not one who tries to work my driver, I just want it straight and this club delivers.

My son is a high school golfer and his driver shaft broke during a high school match. I loaned him my FT-i and he loves it. He hits the ball 275-300 and this club has given him even more distance than his Cleveland 460 comp. The joke on his golf team is I won't be getting my driver back! Some reviewers have written that they lost distance with this club and I find that claim impossible to believe. If anything, I think I am getting more distance than my R7 because I swing with even more confidence and put more of my lower body into the swing.I feel link I can swing harder and it will still go straight. I've used a TaylorMade R7 (loved it) and a Cleveland Comp (loved it too) but I really love this club. I tried the Nike Sumo Sasquatch and I just couldn't get through the ball and tended to hit a weak fade.

Unlike some reviewers, I really like the looks of the club. It sets up nice at address and it is easy to square the face up to the target line.

No driver will fix a terrible swing. I've taken many lessons from a PGA section award winner. I find if I make a good sholder turn, get a good wrist hinge, and lead with my lower body, I can't do anything but hit it straight down the fairway.

This club is pricey so don't hit it unless you're willing to lay down some serious Jack! To try it is to buy it!

Bought club 4 weeks ago, took a little getting used to due to the ugly head. Once your over this the results are excellent. Straight and a reasonable distance, no major extra length visible but it get definitley gets the ball out there. The amount of extra fairways hit was a real confidence boost, had to learn to swing a little slower and tyhe ball went straight, straight, straight..

I got it for 450 euro, worth every cent....buy it.

I just demoed the Callaway ft-i fusion driver at my local course demo day. I have one word of advice. this driver sucks. My Ping G5 launches alot better with more accuracy. Normaly I hit about 220-250, but with this club the maximum distance was about 195. In order to hit this club you have to have a baseball swing. But the worst part about this club is at address. The square face just makes you wonder what kind of people designs Callaways products.

Model Reviewed: FT-i draw 9* stiff

Went to a demo days and just about hit everything worth trying. I said I wasn't going to buy a square headed or any other gimmick club, but guess what? I settle for the FT i draw. I hit shot after shot straight with a slight draw. After a couple outings I am now hitting the ball further than ever +20 yds, 260-275 yds.My fad to slice is completely gone. Not bad for a 56yr old with bad knees.Calloway has done it again.

I had this club for 5 days on a demo. I never hit it again after the first day. It was not as long as my G2 or and it launched the ball too high (probably to pro-launch shaft). not impressed enough to purchase, but it did hit the ball straight. This club will work for some golfers so at least demo it first. Oh Yeah, I love the sound of the thing...it sounds like a 2x4 breaking over your partners back.

Club is now 6 weeks on backorder from Calloway. There is a reason. I went from hitting about 65% fairways to over 90%, without changing one thing about my swing.

I encountered this driver during a Callaway demo-day at my golf course. I was hooked!! This driver is the real deal, very long and straight. I've easily picked up 20 yards over my Ping Rapture and I just don't miss fairways anymore. I was asked today if this thing is legal, I said, "Yes, and I'm loving those four little words, 'I believe you're away'". I don't know how Callaway did it and I really don't care, I'm just loving the experience!!!
