Callaway FT-9 Neutral Spec
In the past years I never liked any of the composite woods that Callaway was putting out. The sound was awkwardly loud and the feel was muted and hard. Trying the Callaway FT-9 at GolfGalaxy completely changed my opinion of Callaway composite woods. I have no idea how Callaway engineers were able to pull it off but they managed to incorporate a lively feel, pleasing sound, and great workability into a fantastically forgiving club. This club is seriously EVERYTHING I look for when buying a driver and I can't recommend it enough. Any low to mid-handicap looking for great workability and great feel in a very forgiving driver should get this club.

Strange club. Hit it in the store great, ordered it, came in a month later hit it great at the range too. I was BOMBING this thing, and it was hard to hit one offline. After about half a bucket of balls, I put a 2-inch gash right through the sole...cracked it right open. Sent it back with a "defective clubhead" got a new one about a month later and did the same thing after playing only 16 holes. I had enough and got my money back and went with the R9 instead....still intact to this day. Customer Service Callaway is top-notch with their customer service. They had no problem sending me back a new club and were ok reimbursing me my money. They even called me a couple times to see how the club was working out. Just got it today after been dreaming about it night and day the last month. The design of the club is just awsome, and was what atracted me at first, but when i tried it, i was in love. It´s easier to shape shots with this club then any other club i have tried. And the sound is just fantastic. I play with a draw, and it helps me also getting the perfect shape of the shot I want. I drive LONG. Well over tour average, but no i drive even longer. Fantastic club in every single way |

Callaway ft 9 tour 8.5 x-stiff
A guy I was playing with one day let me try his ft 9 stiff, and one easy swing sent my ball 290 into the wind. The first thing I noticed was the sound (muted) which I happened to really like compared to my shotgun of a driver (Ping G5). The second was the carry and roll from an easy toned down swing.
Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: Ping G5 10.5 Stiff, used during my growing stage, could hit 320 yard bombs all day but with no roll. After switching to 8.5 Cally bombs drop 320 but still roll another 10-20. Now if only someone can teach me some short game. |

I was playing on vacation two weeks ago and found a FT-9 driver in near perfect condition on the driving range at one of the resort courses. I guess someone must have left it there. Anyway, I took it out on the course and I hit it better than any other driver I have ever had. Needless to say it is staying in the bag. I asked the pro shop if anyone had asked for a Callaway FT-9 but they said no. I guess its mine now. Free is god. Similar Products Used: I've used them all and hit them better than probably anyone. |

I went into golfsmith today because i recently broke the shaft of my Tour Burner TP. I truly loved that club and decided i needed to find a solid replacement. I told the salesman to bring all the companys out and of course he wanted to sell me the R9. I wasn't impressed at all. Next was the FT-9 and instantly i knew i needed to buy this club. Everything i hit was long and extremely accurate. This is an extremely forgiving club. Every shot off the toe came curling back. I ended up buying the 9 degree stiff. Also picked up the FTI 5 wood for a buck. Great deal on 2 great clubs. Customer Service No dealings yet. Similar Products Used: R5 TP, Tour Burner TP, Ping G5 |

Went in to test the new Burner and maybe the new Diablo (never been impressed with Callaway drivers). Walked out with the FT-9. This is my first Callaway driver and it rocks. Its very long and forgiving. Mis-hits seem to find their way back to the fairway without too much loss of distance. The sound is also better than previous Callaway drivers. If you have stayed away from this brand of driver, its worth taking a look at the FT-9. Knocked a star off the value rating becuase of the price. I went to the driving range at my local muni and unknowingly found myself at a demo days. I hit some of the new stuff but wasn't impressed enough to consider giving up my Titleist 907. Then it happened, I hit the FT-9 and a little voice inside me said "UH-OH ... this is going to cost me!".
