A month ago I was in Florida and had the opportunity to demo a variety of drivers...PING, Cleveland Comp 460, Taylormade R7, Mizuno and Callaway 454, all in a variety of lofts and shafts. I wasn't really in the market for a new driver as I started using a Nike Ignite (410 cc, 8.5 degrees, Aldila NV65-XS) Spring 2004 and have had great success with it. During the demo process I tried the Callaway 454 (10 degrees, Aldila NVS65-S) and was really, really impressed with the driver in this configuration. The distance and workability were there, the sound of the ball, the general feel of the club...I was convinced, bought one right on the spot and have enjoyed great success. And, the price was right, even with the NVS shaft. Like any pro-line club you need to demo as many configurations as you can...we're all so different in our swings and game that this is the only way to really get as close to the optimum equipment as you can get and need to really begin to enjoy this game.

This Driver is an update from the previous Big Bertha from 2004. It has more Spring off the face, and the sound is nice. I was torn between this and the Cleveland 460. I went with this and I am very happy.

Customer Service

Haven't had to use it, but Callaway has a great reputation.

I have the 10^ I found this one w/ a prolite shaft regular. I demoed bb 454, nike 460, mac eye o matic, cleveland launcher. Suprisingly the Nike & bb 454 stood out. Hit this at a launch monitor, then on a driving range. I switched from the J 9.5. This club keeps my worst misses decent. Very forgiving & good distance, although the nike seemed longer the bb454 was more forgiving.

this is a great club with this shaft. the ball really launches fast. off center hits are even long and very forgiving. i'm sure its only me but the 454 seems to like the three piece urethane covered balls better than the two piece balls. distance is better with the three piece balls. i've never been a big callaway stock shaft fan and with the upgraded shafts available without an upcharge is great. do yourself a favor and try this out. it is long and forgiving. i had the ignite and it wasnt half as forgiving as the 454 is.

Customer Service

great due to the custom ordered shaft and length of 44 1/2 being ready in 3 days.

I don't know how the previous reviewer can say this driver blows. Also note he doesn't say why it blows or what problems he encountered. This is probably the best driver produced by Callaway at a very competitive price. The face is HOT and it is extremely forgiving. It is as long as anything out there and believe me, I've tried most of them. Do yourself a favor and demo this club.

Customer Service

The best in the industry.

overall i think it is a great club. it looks great at setup and is easy to swing, and also very forgiving on mis hits. i demoed this back to back with my fusion, and surprisingly, my fusion was a few (10) yards longer. so the choice is yours, but i reccomend you try out the fusion as well. but overall the quality of the RCH shaft seems to be pretty good, and the club is selling at a great price to eh?

The driver is very long and extremely forgiving. I was hitting the ball all ov er the face and was still getting good distance. The face has a hot feel and the sound is typical for a Callaway driver. I highly recommend this driver. I ordered mine with a NVS shaft.

Customer Service

Callaways customer service is the best in my opinion

Three weeks ago I custom ordered my Big Bertha 454 with a Speeder 757 R-flex shaft at 44". It took 7 days for it to arrive. Since putting this bad boy into play I have gained 10-15 yards in length. I am blown away by how a face so hot can be so forgiving!? This club sets up nice at address and doesnt' look as big as it is. I would recommend this club to anyone.

Customer Service

Excellent. Took 7 days for my custom order.

If sound makes a difference do not buy this driver! Keep reading... I'm comming off of playing a 983K and it cracked like a rifle when you hit it...the 454 sounds a bit muddy when you hit it. Pay no attention to the sound and this may be the best driver out there right now! Mine is fitted with the Aldila NV 65 R-flex and is extremely forgiving and is pretty long, the sound just makes it hard to believe.

Customer Service

Have never dealt with them...but are known for having the best CS.
