Overrated. I got caught up in the whole Fusion Hype and bout myself a 10* Stiff, Neutral. I hit my Callaway 454 longer by about 10 -15 yards than the FT-3. The thing that also irritates me is the sound it makes. It's a dull "thunk" rather than a traditional titanium sound. I tend to draw the ball, but I can't work the ball with this club. Definitely overrated.

Customer Service

Callaway has been hands down the best customer service in the golf industry.

I have to be honest, I was very dissapointed in this driver. I just got a new set of X-tours and am very impressed with them. I have never been a Callawy fan, but liked the irons so much I decided to try the new driver. The driver was bad in every sense of the word. I was hitting a FT-3 with the same shaft and loft as my TM, and off the launch monitor I lost about 5MPH off my ball speed while gaining almost 1000RPMs of spin. The monitor said the distance gap was about 20 yards (I sort of doubt it is that much, but ohh well). The other major problem I had with the FT-3 was the lack of forgiveness. I am a very good driver of the ball and rarely miss-hit a shot off the heel or toe, but I have tendency to miss-hit drives a bit low on the face. WOW, this club goes absolutly no-where if you miss it low on the face. All that said, I think the FT-3 is still a dramatic improvement over the previous Fusion, but I still think the 454 is a much better driver if you want to go with Callawy.

Model Reviewed: Callaway FT3 Driver

Yesterday, I purchased the Callaway FT3 Tour 9.5* Nuetral w/ the Aldila NVS Stiff shaft. I took the driver out to the range and concluded this is the best all-around driver I have ever hit. Note: as a golf equipment junkie, I have hit just about every driver to hit the market over the last 7+ years. The FT3 is far and away the longest driver I have hit. Prior to hitting the FT3 yesterday, I was struggling with my drives. With the FT3 in hand, I pumped 3 or 4 of the longest drives I have ever hit. My swingspeed is 110mph and, judging my ball flight w/ the FT3, I would not go lower than the 9.5* of this club. Fitting is extremely subjective, but I would suggest starting with a degree higher than you play now. The NVS shaft with it's mid kick is an excellent match for the head. Also, props to Callaway for the $399 price rather than hitting us with $499.

Model Reviewed: Callaway FT3 9.5* NVS Stiff Shaft

Finally the FT3 has come out! I tried the FT3 today at the store with the Aldila NVS Stiff Shaft, and boy was I surprised. The ERC Fusion I tried 3 months ago when I was trying out drivers(ended up buying the Callaway 454 BB)was sooo bad compared to this club. Callaway finally got the weights right in this club. I normally drive a consistant 280-290 drive with my 454 BB and in the 300's with some fire. This club I was in the 290-305 range with a normal swing(I didn't want to mess up a club that I dont intend on buying... until next season when the price hopefully drops.)The 9.5* with the stiff shaft seemed like a great combo, except that I was consistantly hitting a 14* launce angle, i know that optimal ball flight but If your a swinger like me 100+ club head speed, I'd suggest the Aldila NV stiff shaft for a little lower ball flight. The club I was hitting was a Neutral weighted club, and I think if i had picked up the "Draw" club I might be turning the club over alittle too much. Most of my shots in the simulator were either straight or had a little bit of a draw! Had my girlfriend not bought me the Callaway 454 BB 3 months ago I surely would pick this club up!

Model Reviewed: F-3 10 Degree Stiff. NVS 55 Shaft. Nu

WOW! When I got the call that this driver was in, I picked it up and headed straight to the course. My first impression was that this driver is too light. My first swing sent the ball into orbit and straight. I will have to look into maybe getting a 9 Degree. This club is by and far the easiest and longest driver I have ever hit. When I say this club is the best, it comes from experience. In the last year, I have Had the Ping G-2, Nike igniter, Titleist T, and the 454 Callaway. Anyone who was disappointed with the original fusion driver will do backflips over this new one. I still can not believe how light this driver is and how easy it is to hit. Callaway has hit a home run with this one. No wonder the top players are using this club. Go out and try it! You won't be sorry.
