Most if not all reviewers who give the Tour model a bad rap are higher hcprs who have trouble hitting an open faced driver anyway. My Tour is 10.5 w/a factory Fuji Fit-on 11 upgrade($150). Ball speed off a 122mph ss is 176-180 tops with a stiff(not x)shaft. Can hit a cut or draw at will and lazer straight with about a 12deg launch angle. My hcp is 2 and I think higher hcps should try the regular closed face FT-3 or the X460 for better results. These clubs ARE pricey, BUT they do deliver!

Fantastic driver! I put a lot of spin on the ball and have gone through many drivers trying to get a good trajectory and spin ratio. The FT-3 is awesome for my swing. I've hit great drives that don't balloon, rather launch high and then plateau and carry forever. I've hit some of my longest drives with this driver. Very different then older Callaway drivers. Great job Callaway!

I've just been playing a little over a year. Started out with a cheap Golden Bear driver that I could occasionally hit over 200 but almost always in play. I play or practice almost everyday. So, as time passed, I upgraded to a Cally 454 with NV Reg in it. Started hitting that, over time, 230-250. But, started hitting some really high slices. Bought a used 510TP with 757 speeder. Got up to around 260 avg and loved this driver. Let myself talk me into an R7TP with 757 speeder. Never liked this driver. I could never get consistent with it. Occasionally, I would get a 280 out it but...my inability to use it was killing my rounds.

However, I was determined it was the Indian not the arrow and stuck with it since Jan this year. In the meantime, I would occasionally hit other's drivers. Hit a Mac NG2V Tour (nothing special), a Bang, SMT, etc.... nothing really jumped out at me. I play Cally Fusion irons. Started reading about the Fusion driver. Got my hands on one and wow! I am hitting around 275-280 pretty regular. Hit a 300 last night in a scramble (had a skycaddie to prove it). I had a little trouble pulling this driver but no slices, nothing really high. Just a boring flight that is beautiful. Great driver!!

Customer Service

In past, Cally has been first class but so has Taylor Made.

Just like a previous review by TC, I had been looking for low spin driver with penetrating trajectory. I think this FT3 Tour is the answer. Since my natural shots are draw, this 0.5 degree open face driver comes really handy. I can predict how much of fade/draw shot I can impart. My launch angle with this driver is 13~14 degree. If you are looking for a low spin, penetrating trajectory driver, the FT3 is the answer.

My natural shot with most drivers is high, really high. I've been searching for over a year for a driver/shaft combo that I can keep down without sacrificing speed and control. Tried demos of all major and minor brands. None helped. During this quest I even did multiple "fittings" with monitors and pros advice. I was really disappointed until I encountered the Callaway fitting cart one day.

Callaway FT-3 Tour 8.5 w/ NV x-stiff has been the only driver that I have been able to launch below 15 deg and keep spin and trajectories in control. Taylor Made was ok on launch angle, but spin and control were everywhere. New Titleist just skied, even with 8.5 and x-stiff.

If it helps others compare, my swing speed is in the ball park of 115 and launch speeds average around 170 mph.

Not sure what the complaint is about the sound. Sounds perfect to me. Sounds a bit like my old Tony Pena persimmon. I personally am distracted by the Ed Grimley-like musical triangle sound on most drivers these days.

This is a great option for long, high hitters. I'd recommend anyone who swings hard to look at this as a first option. The slight open setup is perfect for those with a slight draw bias. Low-flight bias seems to be relatively unique amongst most competitors.

i had a 9 degree Ping G5 offset offset driver as i struggled with slicing, but it always seemed to give me a weak high fade that landed at 220 yds and stopped dead. i wanted to see what else was out there so i tried the callaway FT3 and X460 at their performance center and used their opti fit system. Even though i don't think i have a "Pro" swing, the results are that with the right club head (neutral) and shaft (Fujikura tour stiff) my ball flight is now perfect, launch angle, spin etc, which now means i am straighter, longer as i get more club head speed, and have way more roll than before.
The club is great for me, but it may not be great for you. So if, like me, you have been searching for the nirvana driver - get yourself fitted with a launch moniter. Cos the stats don't lie!

If you were inconsistant with the driver or could'nt keep it strait then its time to upgrade to the ft-3 fusion tour driver.Absolutley the best driver i've ever hit.It has added at least 20 yards to my drives. With my old titleist i was putting it out there about 250 ocasionally 260.But now im not only hitting it 270 ,but 280 aswell and on a consistant bases. It also has a very unique sound which i like over the traditional ping.I would reecomend this club to anybody if your a 3 handicap or a 33 handicap this is the club for you.The free fairway wood that came with it didnt hurt either. But if you want distance and accuracy in your drives pick this baby up.I'm only 14 so if i can get this kind of performance out of it at my size i can only imagine what a grown man can do with it.It may be 400 dollars but it is worth every penny.

After trying several other drivers I have found this to be the best for me. I hit it sweet to the left, right and sometimes down the middle but that's not the clubs fault. The fact is I hit it sweet the rest is up to me to work on.

This club is very easy to hit, goes forever, and I think has a really cool sound. I will not tell stories of 300 yard drives where other drivers went only 275, that's just not true. I have the draw bias as I tend to miss right when I miss. This does not fix the problem but it helps bandaid it. The shaft is the Aldilla NVS stiff and I really like the way it feels. I have played the NV as well but this one just feels better.

The bottom line is this club is easy to hit on the sweet spot, is long, and I like the set-up and sound. It was a good choice for me.

I had a TaylorMade R5 that was only a year old, and the local golf course had their Callaway fit cart out.

That cost me $400+! We screwed around with different shafts and I found I was hitting the FT-3 30 yards farther than the R5, and the mis-hits weren't nearly as bad.

I've had it a few months now, and it still holds true. I don't know how it hits the ball so far, but it does! The shaft has a much better feel than my TaylorMade R5 does. That may be what the biggest difference is for me.

I have stiff shafts in all my clubs except this one. We went with the regular flex. My swing speed was a little above 90mph. When I hit the club correctly on level ground, I hit the ball around 290 yards.

I broke 80 a couple of times, and it sure doesn't hurt to have that extra 30 yards off the tee.

I usually hit a draw, so I stuck with the Neutral face. That was a good decision...

I love this club. $400 is a lot to pay for it, but they did throw in a fairway driver, so if you need it, it isn't that much more than I paid for my R5. (They are all too expensive, but what can you do?)
