I ordered 818 FC but they sent me
814 neutral by mistake... 814N was a bit
harder to hit than 818FC..
but it's much better than my old driver.. I can hit pretty straight and the off-centered hits are pretty good too.. (very forgiving)...
I love this driver...

Model Reviewed: 818 FC regular flex

Bought the club on ebay. Great condition, half the price of new. First day out I added about 30 yards to
my drives. Had 3 at 240+ which was a first for me. Club felt very good. Had more confidence to swing more aggresively. Still managed to slice a few but overall drives were definitely straighter than my Howitzer. Once I got my grip and swing adjusted they were going much straighter. On the 18th hole I was able to par a 440 yard par 4 which was a first for me on this hole. I expect to be able to hit some 250 soon. Even those off center were going 200.

WOW! It takes a while to get used to this club and you still have to use a strong grip and set up properly. I found that practicing with impact tape was a big help. When you hit near the sweet spot on this club face the ball LEAPS off the club and seems to accelerate down the fairway (I know that's impossible but it looks that way). It is really amazing! I tried other drivers and got nowhere - the best I could do was about 185 yards with a 3 wood knock-off of the tight lies style. The 818 FC (10.5 deg, senior flex) goes 225 yards with a slow gentle swing. No effort at all.

Model Reviewed: Adams SC 814N 10.5* UST Gold65

Bought it at Egghead.com for $115 when everyone was selling them for $249-299. Now most are selling them for $99. Mine came with a UST Proforce Gold65 regular flex shaft. I believe the combination of the UST shaft and the Adams beta-titanium head produced the long distance I was getting (260-280 yd). However, I was not able to produce consistent results due to the lightness and flex of the shaft. Sound and feel from the forged head was excellent. On a perfect hit, the ball seemed like it would fly straight forever (mostly 280yd ). Make sure you get the right shaft. Otherwise, it's an excellent buy for $99 at Golfsmith or EdwinWatts. You don't have to swing it hard to get good distance.

very solid club for the price I paid. Ball explodes off the clubface, and the hook/slice effect is minimal. The stiff graphite shaft fits a 110-115 mile and hour swing perfectly. I recommend to everyone.

Very pleased with the performance from the Adams SC Driver. This was my first real driver; before it I was using a Mizuno Cimarron which served its purpose but I needed to step up to the next level.

I found the driver to have been radically discounted on a website and decided it couldn't hurt to try it. Received it promptly and immediately tried it out on the range that day. The distance increase was immense (approx. 30 - 40 yds) which allowed me to achieve a total drive of about 260 for the first time ever.

The length of the club was a bit difficult to handle at first, but after a couple of days I was able to drive the ball with decent consistency. The "upside-down" clubhead design does make it easier to sky the ball but the increase in sole weight really creates good momentum and increased clubhead control.

Since buying the SC Driver I've become an immediate fan of Adams Drivers. I recently purchased an Adams Tight Lies ST driver and WOW am I overwhelmed! The new multimaterial shaft really improves on what already is a great design of a driver.

If you're looking for a great first driver at a great price then the Adams SC is for you! You can find it at nearly every internet pro shop for about $99 - $149 nowadays. If you can demo the club first that would be advisable; seeing that getting use to the patented upside-down head might be a bit strange initially.

As for myself, the club really improved my drive and I don't doubt that in short time I'll be breaking 300 yds with my new Tight Lies ST!

I am a firm beleiver in you get what you pay for, but sometimes you get more than you pay for. For the past 3 weeks I have been in the market for a new driver, and at present I have 4 in my locker at the golf course. First I tried the Ping TISI and it did live up to the hipe of being long, but I had problems with the size and I hooked it pretty bad. Next I tried the New Ping I3 and I have nothing good to say about that club. Then I tied the Mizuno T-Zoid tour model with the tour shaft, it was alright but I had trouble with the trajectory. Then one of my friends father told me to try his Adams SC driver, and I thought "Yeah Right" Adams makes cheap SH**. Man was I wrong. This $99 diver out performed all those $300+ drivers. It may not be as long as the Ping TISI but not much difference, and the great thing about it you can always find your ball because it's in the fairway. I Shoot in the Low to Mid 70's and have always been one to run out and buy the most popular clubs, but in this case take the same advice that was given to me and try one of these $99 wonders.

Being that I do have a high handicap and underdeveloped mechanics, my swing isn't perfect, but the club is more than worth the 100 bones I give for it. I went with the graphite shaft (regular flex) and do not have any complaints. The feedback from the head is a little daint, but that is expected from a graphite shaft. For those whiners that complain about the sound, I don't care if it sounds like a fart when I make contact, as long as it goes a good straight distance- I'm happy.

Had tried to hit a number a drivers, but had to stick with a 3 wood of the tee to control persistent fade. Got this Adams having never tried it. It has made a believer out of me. I never imagined I could hit the ball so straight and so far every time I swing! It has been awesome for my game. Broke 90 for the first time and then again the next. The closed face fits my swing. If I tee it low, I can confidently drive every time. If you fade the ball, try it. I now have the TL2 3 and 5 wood as well.

I got this club off eBay new for 99.50. I have always had a fade and wanted to get rid of it. It took about 10 trips to the driving range but it was worth every penny. I now have a draw! I can outdrive my old tees shots by 20 yards and hit fairways for once. If you have a bad slice you may need to take lessons but if you have a fade this club will help. I have the SC fairway woods also. These are great clubs.
