This is a 3 piece ball utilizing the double cover technology to an extreme effect -- just like the softer Strata's. The cover is quite soft and this ball will spin like crazy off the short irons. The soft cover is easily ripped up by your wedges. This ball is also short off the short irons. Amazingly, due to the low spin off the long clubs, you can get decent distances off the driver and long irons. Off the driver, it will fly with a satisfyingly low trajectory. This ball is still much shorter than the ProV1x or distance balls. People rave about this ball because it offers performance to a player wanting a high spin ball. For myself, I prefer not to give up any distance -- this ball is just too short, even off the long clubs. I really enjoy playing this ball on a short local par 3 course, where I can spank it to the back of the green and watch it zip back all the way across the green. For normal golf courses, I prefer lower spin balls, so this one is definitely not for me. For those seeking a soft high spin ball under $20, this is an interesting option. Great all round ball. Good distance and ball flight and great for the short game. I use alternate these with Pro V-1s (which sometimes have too much 'stop and drop') when the course is soft) and see very little difference in performance. They are especially good balls to putt with - more than I can say for any other of Top-Flite ball I've used... I have had no problems with the udrability - just the odd mark or scuff but certainly not the sort of damage some of the reviewers have mentioned, however I tend to 'sweep' the ball with my irons, not hit down hard onto the ball so scuffing has never been an issue for me. |

I've been playing this ball for about a month. Overall, it seems to be a very nice ball at a very nice price. Feels extremely soft, and spins more than normal (at times, too much). The soft feel makes chipping and putting actually enjoyable, and allows the golfer to attack the flag, with any iron, without the concern of a big hop to the back fringe. Last week I was playing this ball and hit a knockdown 6 iron from about 150...the ball stopped on a dime after one quick jump, despite the fact that it was only about 30 yds off the ground. Distance doesn’t seem to be too much of an issue. Only problem, this ball lasts for a mere 3-4 holes, particularly when hitting low irons, which counteracts the good price. Basically, it reminds me of a ball suited for the balata craze of the late early 90s...I’ve always liked the way they feel, but not what they do to the wallet over time. Obviously, changing balls after 3 holes can get expensive...consequently I'm looking for something new. Customer Service N/A |

I had just switched from Laddie to XL-3000 Super feel a month ago. They felt very similar and longer than so/lo. A month later, I tried nxt, top flite infinity (butterfly feel), top flite tour and HX red and decided to make another switch. Top flite infinity butter fly feel is longer and softer most. Top flite tour, on the other hand is the first ball I'm able to have confidence to make it stop on the dime. I can't speak for you scratch golfers, but for a mid-handicapper, that's pretty good. So, I'm now alternating the tour and infinity to see if I'm sacrificing distance off the tee. So far, I have found the distance to be similar. If it stays that way, I will stick to top flite tour. By the way, both balls get cut up pretty easily. They don't last very long. For me, I hate to play with dirty balls anyway (psychological effect??) Every 9 holes, I put the ball into the practice ball pocket.(assuming I don't lose it) The chances are though, I would lose a ball every 9-18 holes. So getting cut up easily is no excuse for me at all. If you are a high handicapper who loses a ball even more often, you might as well play a 50 cent ball. This won't help. Over all, this is a very good ball. It's not the best. However, for 20 bucks a dozen, it's by far the best ball under $30. So, I'm giving it a 5 in both value and overall. If the ball costs $40 a dozen, then the ratings would be 4/4. Lucky for us, it isn't. Customer Service Customer service for golf ball? A REALLY DECENT BALL AT A VERY DECENT PRICE. THE BALL SPINS AND FEELS LIKE AN EXPENSIVE BALL. DISTANCE I FELT WAS ADEQUATE. BIG PROBLEM IS THE COVER!!!! I BOUGHT 12 BALLS AND PLAYED 2 ROUNDS WITH THEM. IRON SHOTS JUST SHRED THESE BALLS. IT IS LESS EXPENSIVE TO BUY A MORE DURABLE BALL THEN TO USE 6 BALLS A ROUND. I WOULD CONTINUE TO USE THE BALL IF THEY COULD INCREASE THE DURABILITY! Customer Service HAVE NOT USED |

Bottom Line...as good a ball as there is out there. I have played all of the $50 balls, Pro-V1, Pro-V1x, Pro-V1*, TA2, Nike One, blah blah blah...all of them are great balls...the Top-Flite Tour is in the same class...perhaps even a bit better to me...I am yet to find a ball that holds a green like the Top-Flite...never thought I would say that...anyway..for $20, they are worth a shot...great ball for any price. This ball is good off the tee and around the greens. I like its soft feel. This is the best Topflite ball. However, it is not durable. You'll be better off with Strata Tour Ultimate which sticks better to the greens and are more durable. Similar Products Used: Strata Tour Ultimate2, Topflite XL2000 |

This is a great ball. I've played various TopFlites since the XL 2000 and this is in a completely different league. Before, I played TopFlites because they were cheap and went far. Now that I actually care about little details like holding the green, feel off the putter, and resistance to wind, I play the Tours because they're awesome. The latter (wind ability) has been a surprise - I played in ~25mph winds last weekend and the Tour was barely affected other than ballooning a bit in head-on approaches. I can smash these off the tee and only lose a few yards to novelty distance balls like Dunlop Titaniums. That loss is more than made up for by the fact my 5 iron is going to stick instead of rolling a 6 iron 10 yds off the back of the green. It's also wonderfully new to me to be repairing ball marks that are only 2 or 3 feet away from my ball. I really like the muted "thud" off the putter, too. Yes, they do shred. The covers are so soft you can rub two Tours together and they practically stick. I don't swing crazy hard so I only get scuffs - not total carnage - from short irons and wedges. But I've found this to be almost entirely cosmetic and not detrimental to performance, as the cover doesn't shred too deeply for me. Still, I keep a totally unscuffed ball for putting after I mark my approach (is that legal?). Barring putting them in the drink or the jungle, I can play a round with 2 or 3 of these, which I find completely acceptable. Seriously, if they can improve the durability even marginally, the Tour will be unrivaled in the sub-$20 market. Customer Service beats me Similar Products Used: Srixon High Spin, Pro V1 (can't afford those again), and a bevy of mediocre/lousy cheapo rocks that aren't worth singling out. |
