I have a 17 handicap and I usually average about 240 to 260 w/ my driver using a variety of golf balls, most of the time pro V's. I don't think pro v's matches my swing speed. I played Strata balls before (2yrs ago), it's was always straight but not enough yardage.I thought i was just having good day.
2 years later, I found my used strata balls and decided to use it, and Boom!not w/ the straightness(I always hit it straight)but the distance. Uphill par 4 378 yds, my 2nd shot 56 wedge, sweet! I still have my 2 strata balls, I save it for long par 5 and par 4, it feels good because everytime I use those balls, most of the time Iam about 40-50 yds farther than my closest foursome buddy.
My problem is the approach, I gained so much distance that I have to practice my short irons and wedges.
My advice if you have a slow swing speed about 80 to 95..choose the low compression balls, Strata is 75 and it is perfect for me but the problem for me now is they don't sell those balls anymore.......Strataaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

It's funny...I played this ball one time two years ago...bought three to try to "straight" balls and tame the slice I was suffering from at the time. While I had tried the Tour Ultimates and liked them, I felt like I was losing distance off the driver with the straights...they felt really soft...mushy would be more like it. I really liked the feel of puttng and chipping them. Tonight, it was getting a bit dark, and as I am getting low on the hard to find Rev Tours, I cleaned up a ball I found a few days ago and played that..Tour Straight. The first of the three holes I played with it was a 510 yard par 5...drove about 280 and hit two wedges on. Next hole was a 130 par 3. Tried to hit a 3/4 9 iron but put it on the back fringe. Next hole was a 450 yard par 4...another drive between 280 or 300. I actually toed it a bit, but it didn't hook, just a strong draw with a ton of roll...8 iron in to about 6 feet. These balls feel really soft irons...almost too soft. I could check them up, but didn't back any up l;ike I do with the Maxflis.

Picked up a sleeve of these to try. Did not work for me. Distance was not good and the ball did not feel right off of my irons. Took it out of play after several holes and started using a Strata Tour Ultimate. Started scoring again. Took all three balls and put them in my shag bag. If they work for you great! I won't play these again. Wish they still made the Tour Ultimate as this is one of my favorite balls.

Recently, I've been trying out a lot of different brands, looking for the right combination of feel, trajectory and distance. The Pinnacle Exception, Srixon AD 333 and the recently-discontinued Maxfli A10 seem to have pretty similar characteristics. But the Strata Tour Straight stands out. This ball really goes! You particularly notice it on "executive" to mid-size courses, where the average hole is between 130 to 160 yards. With a lot of the newer, soft-cover balls, you still have to give them a good backswing and follow-through to make sure the ball is on-target. But from my experience, the Strata Tour Straight has so much spring off the club face that you can afford to take only half the swing you'd otherwise need, and the ball will go exactly where you aim it. I'm not sure that it's "straighter" than other balls out there, but the Tour Straight definitely has a soft feel to it as well as excellent distance, allowing you to ease up on your swing. And as a lot of people know, the harder you have to swing, the less control you have. On the downside, on very short approach shots, the Tour Straight can get away from you because you just tap it, and it goes flying. But when teeing off on short holes, and for longer approach shots, where you need to hit your target but don't want to put too much of your back into it, this ball is great. A first-rate product at a reasonable price.

Good ball, not nearly as long as the Top Flite Awesome Distance though (about 20 yards shorter actually). I've also recently tried the newer Precept Power Drive ball which is better too. Longer off the driver and irons. The Strata Tour Straight was just fair all the way around, not great for the short game either. Putting was not noteworthy, but I did like the alingment arrow.

This ball is almost too good at its job. The ball always wants to go straight with low spin. Don't even bother trying to put bite on your irons or wedges because it won't let you (you still get a few feet of roll after the ball lands). Not that this is a bad thing at all. Just put a sleeve of these in the bag and if you're moving the ball too much during your round, just pull this ball out and find the fairway. Chances are if your swing is a little off that day, you won't want to switch back to whatever ball you were previously playing with. The ball comes off the driver and irons with a nice mid/high trajectory and even putts pretty true. The distance is typical, I don't have to use one more or one less club when I'm playing this ball. It adds up to a good ball for turning those bad days into days you really can't complain about!

Good days-Maxfli Revolution 100. Pro V1x and Strata Tour Aces are also good balls but a little on the expensive side. Bad days-Maxfli Noodle, Titleist DT Solo and Strata Tour Straight (more for directional control).

Was disappointed with this ball after 10-12 rounds of use. Very slick feel of the ball surface almost seems to exaggerate mis-hits - almost like the ball is slipping in the wrong direction off the clubhead in the event of bad contact. Very little spin on greens - ball seems to slide on & on toward the fringe if it rolls on landing. Coating is very fragile & easy to get cuts, scrapes, abrasions, etc. - definitely need to go through 2-3 balls a round even without losing them. Don't know if they really reduced sidespin or corrected hooks or slices, but ball seemed to be a little shorter than other models I used - probably generated less spin, so less carry distance. Nice green graphics & alignment arrow were helpful, especially in identifying the ball from others - hard to mistake this ball from someone else's (which always happens with all the Titleists out there in the rough, regardless of how careful people are...)

Great Ball. I slice sometimes with the driver. This ball helped to ease the Banana ball syndrome into more of a fade. It won't correct a real bad slice, but does add some help with my tee shots. Like other reviewers, they feel really slick when you first take them out of the sleeve. It's unbelievable how technology has helped some of us High Handicapper's into shooting lower scores!
