Hmmm, I didn't like or dislike these the Strata. Distance seemed muted and I had to play an extra club usually. Feel was average at best, but I like a little harder cover so perhaps I need a higher compression Strata to try. I did like how they putted though. Seemed to roll straight and held distance well. I don't think I'll buy another dozen though. There are a lot better products out there for my game.

This ball has explosive distance and far better control than a Slazenger.

I like a little more spin than this ball offers. I have only played 1 sleeve of these Strata's and I liked what I got. A tad bit on the 'pricy' side, I think... a lower end titlest is similar in price and better in performance.

All in all a good ball.

This ball is the best I have used. I have hit it straight, worked well on the greens and have putted very well. I scored the best 9 holes of my life with it yesterday, way under my usual. Given my weak skills, I am still inconsistent, but this ball has feel which inspires confidence. It also holds up better than many surlyn balls I have used and is pretty long on drives. My favorite so far.

Great ball, cover holds up very well contrary to what someone else said down the page- with all due respects shooting in the 90's it's likely you're going to scuff a balata. Great spin, feel, distance, this ball's the whole package. I much prefer it to the so called 'super-ball' Pro V1.

Excellent ball IF you know how to use it. That is the key. Of course, most of you 110-120s golfers who continue to play from the back tees won't listen to this feedback. You probably think this ball will help your game right? WRONG! Holding the green is probably not your problem it's getting there. This ball WILL expose any weakness or imperfection in your swing and is not forgiving at all unlike the Pro Distance. The same spin that allows you to hold the green WILL cost you in getting to the green if you aren't on your game. You will get decent distance with this ball. If you are just starting out or just not very good right now, try the Pro Distance. It's a much more forgiving ball but don't think it's the cure for an awful swing. It just doesn't make you pay as much! Your slice won't go as far into the woods. It does provide a so-so amount of spin if you strike it correctly, but more important is the fact that you will likely stay dry or in play with imperfect shots. The Tour Pro also putts a lot softer than the Distance so you will tend to either leave putts short or whack them 6 ft past the hole until you get it figured out. The Tour Pro is an excellent ball if you understand your game and shot tendancies. Strata is the most complete golf ball I've played by far!

This is a great ball. Good distance, excellent spin and is excellent for chipping and putting. Very soft ball, and is also durable. I tried the pro v1 and the strata is a much better ball because the pro v1 balloons to much with the short irons and plus you can buy these balls for $15 for 3 sleeves versus $54 for a dozen of the pro v1's.

I only tried this ball because I won them in a closest to the pin contest in a tournament. So instead of letting them sit there I took out and played a few rounds with them. I wasn't expecting much from it, I mean it's a Strata. However, this is one of the better overall balls I have ever played. I either play a Pro V, Revolution or Nike Tour Accuracy. Not any more. For the price of this ball and the results of the others....You can't beat it. Grant it the covers don't last as long as a Pro V, but I can play through two dozen before I spend as much as I would on a dozen Pro V's or Nike TA's.

Overall, if you like a little spin and soft feel, but don't want to substitute distance to get it...This ball's for you. I shoot around even par every round and have lived with Titleist forever....No longer. I will be picking up Strata's for now on when I'm in the ProShop and need balls.

Early this year I was able to get my hands on the Titleist Pro V1. In general I felt it was a good ball but I had a lot of problems with the ball ballooning on short iron shots, and had trouble getting satifsactory spin on approach shots, especially around the green. I was looking for a ball with similar feel and distance, but with better trajectory and spin. After reading the reviews here, I picked up the 9-ball trial pack of the Tour Professionals today and was able to get in 15 holes before dark. I hit 2 and 3 balls on many shots, especially into the green. Being a long-time disciple of Titleist, I must say that the Strata Tour Professional is what I wanted the Pro V1 to be.

I was at least as long off the tee with the Strata as I was with the Pro V1, so the distance was very nice. The Strata is certainly a longer ball that the Titleist Professional or Tour Prestige, both of which I have considerable experience with. The trajectory of the Strata was much more pleasing as well. I'm generally a high ball hitter, so the last thing I need is a high trajectory ball. I had no problems with ballooning this evening.

Spin into greens was better than the Pro V1 too. I hit several 54 and 58 degree wedges that stuck like glue. Spin was also good with irons up to about the 5 or 6 iron. Not as much spin as a Tour Prestige, but I actually get too much spin with those anyway. I was also able to hit the two-or-three-bounce-and-stop-shot with no problem.

In terms of feel, the strata is a bit softer feeling than the Pro V1, very similar to a Professional in fact. The cover seems to hold up quite a bit better than a Professional too. Although I did lay some tracks with a wedge, otherwise I left no marks or scars on any ball. It was only in this department that I felt the Pro V1 was better as I've never damaged one of them before.

Overall, this is what I wanted out of the Pro V1. Good length, good spin, good trajectory, good feel, good durability. I really wanted to like the Pro V1 better, being a long time Titleist user, but time after time I found myself liking the Strata better. Looks like I'm being converted, but I have no plans to go quietly! Oh, look; I can get a dozen Strata Tour Pros for $25-$30 while the Pro V1 is $45-$54. On second thought, maybe I will go quietly. You can't beat getting a better ball for $20 less per dozen!

Great ball, maybe my all-around favorite. Decent distance, excellent consistency, great iron and short game feel. Spin is excellent ... better for me than Titleist Tour Pro. Putter feel is great ... not squishy soft like a balata ball but not firm -- just right. Only problem with this ball is if you are a good player and really "trap" your short irons with a descending blow, and are using square groove clubs, you WILL lay some railroad tracks all over these babies. I spin these like crazy but a couple crisp sand wedges and they look terrible. I have played two straight rounds with the same Strata Tour Pro and it looks like is barely survived a war. So if you don't mind tossing your soldier into the shag bag after every nine holes or so, go for it. However, a buddy of mine plays them (he's about a 10) and does not have this problem with scuffing.

Since no one else was buying them, I figured I might as well use them as I hate to see something go to waste, and I'm glad that I did.
I used to be a diehard Titleist fanatic, but was amazed by the performance of this ball. I can get it to spin back very nicely on full iron shots - including long irons. Distance-wise it flies about 2 or 3 yards longer than the Titleist Pro, but with a lower trajectory - which is good for the windy conditions here in late afternoon. Roll is also a bit longer - maybe 2 yards.
Performance around the green is every bit as good as a wound ball - darn thing spins like the Tazmanian Devil and stops on a dime when called for.
I found that the ball doesn't react well when using an Odyssey White Hot putter, probably do to with a conflict in the insert material, but the problem was solved when I went back to the Ping.
In short, the ball flies well, it rolls over, plays dead, handles like a Ferrari and doesn't cost a fortune. Looks like a keeper to me. Low handicappers should score well with it, but the cover probably won't stand up to high handicapper's antics.
Will be trying the Pro V1 next week, but judging from what I've just experienced with the Strata, it'll be a hard act to follow.
