Was looking for a ball between the Top-Flite 2000 Extra Long and the Strata Tour Professional and this is it. Good straight distance. I really like the tour professionals but learned to putt with the harder balls and usually leave the tour prof short on longer putts. For me these balls are a good compromise and my new ball.

Strata Pro Distance is a very good ball, its perfect for me, Golfers Who dont want to give up spin for distance and vice versa. The ball has a soft feel, but it goes long to, I hit it longer than any top-flite, Titliest or Callaway. For the feel, if you went in between Strata Tour Pro and Top Flite Xl-2000, you have what it feels like. THis is the only distance ball that ive found that has long distance, soft feel and putts true with workability around the green. The days of hard-as-a-rock golf balls is over.

This preliminary evaluation is based on hitting the Strata Pro Distance indoors at an indoor practice facility, and putting with the ball on a practice green at my local golf course.

The Strata Pro Distance is softer than it's predcessor, the Strata Distance 90. The ball feels very soft at impact with both irons and metal woods. It is hard to believe that the ball's covering is HS Balata (according to Strata), it feels like a Surlyn cover.

In putting, I've found that the Strata Pro Distance is very good on soft greens. It will be interesting to see how it perform on firmer greens. The ball does putt truer than a wound ball. In fact during my recent putting practice, I used the Titleist SF and the Strata Pro Distance. On the soft greens I had make a longer stroke with the SF on lag putt 20 feet to get in close to the cup. Whereas, with the Strata Pro Distance, I didn't have to make as long a stroke.

The real deal is when I use the Strata in play. At that time I'll update my findings.

I am confused about one thing. Golf Tips Magazine lists the Strata Pro Distance for mid-handicappers, yet, when you look at the specifications on the box the balls come in, you get the impression that the ball can be used for both mid and high handicappers.

I really wish Strata would be a better job on their website, with respect to matching ball type to golfer handicap, also what balls are good for helping to control hooks and slices, green side control, and any important consumer information golfer would need

Great Ball! I have tried every distance ball out there, this one is the most consistent performer I've found.
Good distance off the tee, low spin off the irons (not bad after landing, better than PC Lady), and finally it putts well.
It works as advertised that’s a plus.
