Precept Laddie
I am 53 years old and shoot in the low 80's. This season I tried the Precept Laddie and my playing partners cannot believe how far I am hitting it off the tee. The ball makes almost no sound off the driver but it explodes into the air. My swing speed is 82 MPH so this ball is pefect for me. I find no difference in my iron distances but the ball does seem to go straighter off the irons than some other balls I have tried. It took me a while to get used to the soft feel of the ball on and around the green, but now I love it. Since I started using the Laddie my handicap has dropped from 12 to 10. This is the best ball I nave ever used, and the $20 price tag makes it a real bargain. |

Laddie
I have played the Laddie and read the reviews. I thought I might try to add another angle. I first tried a Laddie on a horrible day where I happened to find one on the course. For the heck of it, I decided to play it. Do you ever find a ball and love it because it is the only ball you haven't lost all day? Well, that was what happened to me. I loved this thing. I decided to pick up some more, and also some Ladies and Strata Tour Pro's. I like the Ladies, and don't get me started on the Stratas. However, the Laddie was still my favorite. The different angle I offer is one of a golfer with a fast swing. I am always amazed by those with fast swings that play a rock of a ball. What is the point? You already have the distance, you need the feel. For me, the Laddie has it all. It stops on a dime (even backed up coming out of a trap once), putts well (more than I can say for the Strata), and is still long (I will spare you the ego boosting distance embellishment). I swing around 115mph and don't find myself losing much distance, if any at all. The R&D guys at Precept deserve a raise, because these things do it all, at a fraction of the cost of a PRO V1. I was playing with someone once who also found one. He had earlier claimed, "I can't hit those soft balls". Well, by the round's end, this guy was in love with it as well. He, too, had a very fast swing (I am no speedometer, but I would guess it was well over 100mph) and didn't lose any distance. So, even if you have a fast swing, I think you will find the Laddie might be the ball for you, too. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: Pro V1, Precept Lady, Strata Tour Pro |

I've read so many good things about the Laddie that I decided to purchase some. During my last round, I put the Laddie into play after having two pretty horrible holes. I hit them straight (little/reduced side spin), they stuck to the greens as much as I need them to (I hit high), putted extremely well, were excellent for finesse shots around greens and had a very pleasing feel off the driver. Needless to say, the Laddie improved my day considerably and was a great confidence builder. I plan to use it exclusively. One of the other reviewers made a very good point in that it's important to match your swing and game to the ball. The Laddie is my match--but I would not steer anyone away from the Strata Tour Straight as it has a very similar behavior and feel (the STS is the other ball in my 'stable'). A great ball and a great value! Customer Service NA Similar Products Used: Callaway HX Blue, HX Red 2P, ProV1, Strata Tour Straight, Dunlop Loco |

These balls aren't quite as good as the best premium balls of all the top manufacturers but they have to be one of the best reasonably priced balls out there. They are long, soft, stop on the greens, putt well and are durable. A local pro shop is selling them this month at special for $18.88 a dozen which works out to $20.01 with tax. I think maybe the best ball for the money on the market. As in most other things in life, you pay a lot for the last 5% of performance, if you don't need it or can't use it, why pay? I have always been a titliest professional or pro v1 kind of guy but I tried the laddie and I was amazed by the extra distance I've seen with my Irons and woods. I can honestly say that I can confidently hit these balls 10 -15 yards farther with every club in the bag. Customer Service Great! |

I have used various of the older Pinnacles and the Strata but switched last year to the Precept Lady on the recommendations of friends. I loved the Ladies--more spin, better distance and so on. I tried some Laddies the last couple of weeks and definitely agree they have a softer feel and more distance than the Lady, but not the greatest spin, like some of the other users have said. To me they feel like the Titlist Tour Distance, which leads me to my one knock against them: To my mind the Laddies scuff more easily than other balls and that might put off some less-than-gifted players. I hit a sweet 8-iron with a fresh Laddie and was picking bits of cover out of the grooves of my Hogans, but that may have been an exception. Having said that, I do have to say that Precept has found the cutting edge ball for the low-swing-speed golfer looking for the best combination of feel and distance. Don't let the low price make you think it's an inferior ball. |

I recently conducted a "test" of medium-priced balls to find the one that suits my game the best. I tested the following: Titleist NXT Distance Titleist NXT Tour Maxfli Noodle Nike Ti-Velocity Power Distance Precept Laddie I am happy to report the Precept Laddie is the the "hands-down" winner. It out-performed all of the above in all-around use. The Titleist NXT Tour was the closest, but at additional $5/dozen it is definitely not worth the difference. Just shot my best round the first time using the Laddie! They are definitely worth a try! I have played 4 rounds of golf using the Laddie, it's a 5 all the way. Any golfer whose swing is below 100 should try the Laddie. Buy a dozen balls and give them a try, you won't regret it. My distance increased 10 yards over the Precept Lady that is also a good ball. For $20 you can't go wrong. Precept has a brochure out titled The Science of Golf Balls, pick one up and read it, it's very informative. Customer Service N.A. Similar Products Used: Precept Lady |

I am more than pleased with the Laddie. Distance off the tee is very good with minimal sidespin, but what impresses me the most is the feel and spin with the short irons. The ball also feels very soft coming off the putter. Great ball for the money. Customer Service n/a Similar Products Used: Pro V1, Smart-Core Pro Distance |

I shoot in the low nineties most of the time and find it difficult to break 90. After switching to the Laddie ball however, I have yet to shoot over a 89. The distance off the tee is UNREAL! Don't hold greens as well a Pro-V1 but you can spin them some. And for half the price of a box of V1's...I'm sold. Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: You name it. |
