Just got back from playing 18 with the Maxfli XS, usually play Wilson staff ti but was out so hit a sleeve of the Maxfli XS. The ball hit well off the tee, but for feel around the green I felt like I was hitting a rock. If you like a hard ball with not a lot of green feel this is a good one; if not, go to something like the Patriot.

Not a bad ball, softer than the two piece distance models, but what do you get for the extra cost? Somewhat softer feel, but not enough spin to hold firm greens. For the money, Pinnacle Gold LS offers the same advantages but cost 13.99 for 15 balls compared to Maxfli XS at $19.99 for a dozen. If you are looking for a ball to spin and hold the greens, try the STRATA Tour Pro (buy two sleeves get one free), or if you want straight distance off the tee with a soft feel, play the Pinnacle Gold LS. With the new double cover technology, "soft" two piece balls are outdated equipment.

Good two piece distance ball. Definately for the average player. Does not hold very good around the greens. Pretty good off irons and great distance. Average feel.

Used almost a dozen of these balls. Found them to be average for my play but lacked distance and seemed a little soft with lack of contact communicated through club. Probably not the ball for me but for a low handicap player.

Top Flite gave me distance, Titleist gave me control, and Prostaff got me the spin...but Maxfli gives it all. I bought a sleeve of these and shot my best score of 35 with them. These balls have INCREDIBLE feel and the price is great, the ball flight is great, I get awesome distance and control. I recommend these XSs to anyone wanting the best ball out.

I work in an on-course pro shop and this simply is one of my favorites. The XS Tour spins well onto greens with stopping power even on a not-so-greatly struck shot. It putts and chips well and true and being a two-piece ball it is relatively durable, though not as durable as say a Pinnacle Gold or Dunlop ball. I can perhaps get 14 holes use out of one ball before it looks knackered. I can hit all the shots with this ball and it feels consistent. On the minus side, although it stops well, it's not as effective as I would like for shots that need shaping in the air, but it has very good length for a performance ball to help negate that a little. Bottom line, I used this ball from the spring of last year onwards when I switched from cast to forged irons. Now I am back using forged blades and the ball does feel harsh to them, so I am back in the market for a wound ball. However, the Maxfli XS I would still rate in my top 3 balls and at a very competitive price. This is a good ball for low handicappers who want a distance ball with a lot of potential action on it or mid-handicap players seriously wanting to become single digit players.

I really like this ball. It is no where near as long as the top of the line distance balls but I more than make up for the loss of distance with a much improved short game. I am able to hold the greens with this ball, something I can seldom do with a hard surlyn ball. It feels almost as soft as a balata ball but has a much more durable hide. Great for chipping and feels nice and soft off the putter. As a high handicapper, I am constantly told I should be using a distance ball, wrong answer. I have improved significantly since switching to these. If there is a weakness to this ball, it is the fact that it seams to pick up clumps of dirt and mud easier than any other ball I have used. A potential problem on a wet course. I just bought 3 dozen so I guess I have finally found a ball I can live with.

this is one of the best balls out on the market. it spins, it's durable, it's soft, distance isn't bad and price is unbeatable.
only downsides are the flight is a little high and feel and spin are a little below the premium balls.

LIKE MOST OLDER GOLFERS, THE DISTANCE OFF THE TEE IS PARAMOUNT. I RECENTLY BEGAN USING THE MAXFLI XS DISTANCE BALL, AND IT IMMEDIATELY GAVE ME 10 -15 MORE YARDS THAN THE SLAZENGER BALL WHICH I USED REGULARLY. THE DIANCE AND THE FEEL OFF THE TEE ARE SUPER, I AM NOW A STEADY MAXFLI XS DISTANCE USER. A REALLY GREAT BALL.

Great Ball. The best I have found to combine distance, feel, and spin. I get a little better distance than many tour model balls such as the Revolution or Titleist Professional and about the same spin. Much better feel than any other distance type ball. Feels like a wound ball. At $20/dz at many places, great deal too.
