Maxfli Noodle Long & Soft
After reading a rave review in Golf Digest, I decided to give these balls a try (I had been discouraged from playing them because of their ridiculous name). Off the tee, using a Nike SQ 460cc 9.5* driver, these balls were HOT... consistantly equaling the distance of my Titleist NXT Tour balls. The Titleists felt hard as a rock in comparison off the driver. The Noodles were not overly spinny off the driver and cut through a 12 mph headwind very well. Using a set of Adams GT3 irons, the Noodle felt soft, but not overly so and held the greens VERY well. I found the Noodle to be fairly workable and don't think a low handicapper would have much to complain about in this department. Using a Ping Zing G5i putter, the Noodle was EXTREMELY puttable with an INCREDIBLE amount of feedback and feel...this is my personal favorite trait of this ball. OK, sounds like the perfect ball so far! Well, there is one downside with this ball. The cover scuffed and scraped easily (I do have 100 mph+ clubhead speed) and I found myself having to replace the ball nearly every hole. Considering the economical price of the Noodle, this is not a complete turn-off. I will finish up the NXT Tours I have, then will play this ball exclusively. I've been playing the logo overruns for a year now (24 pack for 12.99 at walmart) what an outstanding value. These balls are really good. Although lately I've been looking for something a little more. As my handicap is going down I feel that I can't work this ball as well as I want to. Other than that, these balls are great for feel and great for distance (if you're a high handicapper). I also suggest the Pinnacle Gold if on a budget and can't find the overruns. Played with these balls for a while as a friend passed me a box to try out. Fairly decent. For the price (yes, I got it free), its better than Laddie. Soft feel (too soft for me), long on the tee-shot. Well, I will not buy these balls to play my regular games :) Similar Products Used: ProV1, ProV1x, Callaway HX Blue, TopFlite Long&Soft, Precept Laddie, Mojo. |

I sort of agree with the last reviewer, except that I'm now seeing 15 pack Noodles for $16. That is, a few years ago the Noodle was something special, long and soft, that is really soft, not just soft as dreamed up by the marketing department. However, today, I don't think that I would want to be in the golf ball business. There are at least 20 different "long and soft" balls, and as I said in some other reviews: "If you scraped the logos off them, most golfers couldn't tell the difference." If you're upgrading from a regular old Top Flite XL, an old Pinnacle LS or other really cheap balls, the Noodle will seem wonderful to you. But if you've been playing any of the other 20 or more "long and soft balls": DT Solo, Loco, Mojo, XL-3000 Super feel, Pinnacle Exception, etc, etc, the Noodle will feel like, play like and have distance like most any other soft core Surlyn cover ball. Just buy which ever one you find at the best price and don't worry about the snob factor. If you're comparing the Noodle to a 3 piece Urathene cover ball, the Noodle or any other 2 piece Surlyn cover ball it's just not in the same. Customer Service n/a Similar Products Used: You name it |

This is an average ball...period. A couple years ago this was the hoot. A nice ball that was cheap. It had the cool name. Well, screw it. It flies average, putts average, looks average, and it's distance is average. Basically, if you don't care about your handicap, don't care about losing your balls, or don't care about doing better, buy it. It's still about $20/dz or now for $20/15. Basically, do you want to spend a $1.65 for a ball in the woods, or $2.50 or more for a ball on the fairway? If you're just beginning, it's ok. Once you start playing, forget it. Take it to the range and give yourself and extra shot or more! Customer Service none used. Similar Products Used: Strata tour ultimate. Top flight 2000 or 3000. |

I love this ball..Good distance, just as long as precept pwrdrive, or callaway hx hot. Better feel and stops well if your trajectory is high enough...no real backup, but doesn't release like the harder distance balls. |

This ball to me compares very much to the titleist dt solo it has the same great distance and the same soft feel of the irons and around the greens. I seem to get a lower trajectory with this ball which is not all that bad because i get a lot of roll. Overall i think this is a great pick because of its price and the quality of the ball. The Noodle portrays itself as "long and soft." I would have to agree. Boy, do these balls go, but no better than your normal premium golf ball. They have a decent soft feel and putt OK. However, they really are nothing more than distance ball. They don't check up very well on greens and tend to release a little too much for my liking. They're essentially a distance ball with a soft cover, which is exactly what Maxfli claims. I think it's a good ball for a mid-handicap player, but probably not the ball that a low handicapper is looking for. Similar Products Used: None really...all distance balls I have used are rocks. |

Hi I just thought I'd tell everyone how good Noodle long and soft (original) balls are. MY NOODLE STORY: I once found a noodle ball on my golf course, picked it up and hit it off the next tee with a 3 wood. It went 250yrds. That was 40yrds further than I'd ever driven before. I then got given 12 Noodle originals for Christmas. First round playing with a Noodle I got a hole in one. Coincidence perhaps? The next day I used a Noodle again and shot a 76 gross, playing to 4 (8 under my handicap)which won me a huge trophy. All down to, apart from a small amount of skill from me, the Noodle. Coincidence? I don’t think so. Similar Products Used: Only noodles for me |

This is a very nice ball for distance and distance alone. This is the worst ball I have use as far a accuracy and feel. The ball often takes wild out of control spins. I would recomend that anyone who doesn't do well with the Noodle should try the Nike Mojo. |
