Anyone can play the top of the line $3.00 per ball dozens and say a ton of nice things about the product. In this economy of having to tighten the belt and save when and where you can, it only makes sense for serious golfers to seek out affordable alternatives. While I still play Pro V-1x in tournament play, these represent a nice substitution for practice rounds and fun.

The Pros:
- These balls are nice and long but still feel soft off of the driver. You won't lose any distance using this ball.
- The Cally HX Hot Plus is durable. Unless you hit a tree or a cart path they are hard to cut or scuff. I played the same ball for a full 18 holes and proceeded to play 7 more before losing it. It had not lost an inch of distance of feel from having been hit over 100 times in play.
- These balls have a nice alignment line for putting. And they roll true.
- Surprisingly these balls have some pretty decent spin and stop potential. I have managed to backspin them with my wedges, something most distance or economy balls simply cannot do.
- They are definitely affordable. Under $20 new every day of the week on eBay. I purchased 5 dozen "Mint" used ones back in June and literally just ran out in my closet - already ordered some more!

The Cons:
- Like all other economy balls these might feel ever so slightly harder than the Pro V's to the scratch golfer. Most amateurs won't know the difference however.

The Bottom Line:
Give these a try and you won't regret it. They are an amazing value that are affordable, have great spin, incredible distance, and unmatchable durability.

Never used them but Callaway is most certainly going to back anything they manufactured.

I bought a box of these to see if they would give me more distance. I could not be more happy. I gained about 15 yards with my driver and at least one club length with each iron. They putt okay too. They're not as soft as some but they're not a rock either. I have not had any trouble getting them to stop on the green but they do not spin back like a urethane ball. These balls fly straight due to lower spin but I can still hit a fade or draw at will. These balls are in my bag until such time as I find something better. You know, always in search of the proverbial panacea.
