Bridgestone E5 Balls

Bridgestone E5 Balls

DESCRIPTION

The Bridgestone Logo e5 Golf Ball has a new dual dimple design for increased distance. The e5 is engineered for control and distance. The new e5 delivers consistency on the green because it is the only 2-piece urethane cover ball on the market, which provides the power of a large core with the control of Tour-proven urethane. New Dual Dimple Technology also provides improved distance performance and the inside dimple works to increase thrust power at launch while t

Really disappointed. I've gone through 3 dozen and have given up. For the price, there are alot of other better choices out there. It's just another 2 piece but with a urethane cover. I guess I beleived that you can have the consistency of a 2 piece with added spin control around the greens.
Its average on drives and irons. There is some check on short irons but it rates poor on pitch/chips. Putting was where the E5 was a strong performer. Really good feedback off the putter and consistent roll. Sorry, but IMO they should have called it the Bridgestone EEEEWWWW 5.

I used the Wilson TX4 PRO for the front 9 today and could barely break 50. I hit a slice on every tee shot, which is not my normal shot shape. I also had trouble with it around the greens because it was TOO soft. I changed to the Bridgestone e5+ for the back 9 and played great. My trajectory was much higher and straighter. It felt soft on all shots, firm off the putter which I like and it spins pretty good for a budget ball. I tried the E6 last season and didn't like the ball flight but this new E5+ was fantastic for my game. Needless to say I shot a 41, including a terrible final 2 holes, bogey and double.

I have now played three rounds of golf with E5+ on two courses and here’s my observation. I’m not a power hitter and I’m only guessing that my swing speed is medium (maybe around 85mph with a driver). These balls are seriously long for my swing speed. Longer than ProV1, NXT Tour and HX Tour; just shy of the TP Black but this ball is straighter with a driver. Although it has urethane cover and may spin like a 3-piece tour ball, it doesn't stop like one. Even though it has a measured spin rate higher than TP Black/HX Tour/ProV1 according to the Feb 08 issue of Golf Magazine, I can tell you that it doesn’t have the same hop-n-stop ability on the green. I believe that maybe it’s down to the fact that the cover is quite hard (hence harder wearing = good:-) and bounces a bit more. It’s longer and spinier than NXT Tour - a fairer like-4-like comparison I reckon. As with the NXT Tour, I tend to pitch ten yards in front of the pin and expect a small amount of roll forward. Off the face of the driver it feels light and responsive. It putts nicely too with nice roll but not too sticky as with some tour balls. On the whole it has a nice combination of distance and control, albeit lesser of the latter. However for my level, it’s the right combination, for the time being, as I need the distance and not yet ready to attack the green expecting a spin back. Since it’s cheaper and performs better than NXT Tour, definitely 5 stars for value, 4.5 for performance and durability. Very highly recommended for mid handicappers.

Okay, so i ready all of your reviews and decided to give them a try. Wow! and again, Wow! This is a great ball - it produces pro like iron shots - low starting flight then rising and landing soft with spin - my drives were nice and straight with little or no side spin - this ball also putts really well - feels a much more expensive ball - this baby will be with me for a long time to come - oh, by the way....this one is long without sacrificing feel....you can feel the ball compress before it shoots of the club face

I play usually with dunlop loco or ProV1. I spotted these yesterday as unfinished lake balls and thought I would try a bridgestone ball for the first time. Went out today when it was windy and chilly. Distance is good as was feel. There was little scuffing. On a great passage of play I knocked wedge shots accurate to the point where I was usually on or maximum 3 feet off the temporary green (winter rules bah humbug) measuring 10 feet in diameter). At that glorious duration, I chipped in twice for birdie, chipped close and putted for another birdie in three consecutive holes! I saved bogey the next hole with another chip in. Flustered and bewildered I lost it on the next few holes so the round isn't worth mentioning otherwise. However I have to say that it is hard to assess driver sidespin due to the wind but there didn't seem to be any sidespin damping in force. Ball flight was nice and high when hit right. Will save half a dozen for warmer months. As for putting again temporary greens aren't the best conditions to test. I can only suggest that mid to high handicappers would benefit most, although I have a sneaking suspicion the better player will also value the abilty to hold the green. My rating reflects what I can assess, I was sorely tempted to give full overall five but that is for summertime.

Good offer on at local JJB (United kingdom) on the lake balls thus can't directly compare original price. Might go to these instead of ProV1s if, lets say I need a new sleeeve of balls at the pro shop. please note, never ever buy refinished lake balls from the golf superstore. If you can see they are scuffed go to another box or pick another ball for your basket. The performance of a refinished ball is that of a different ball (usually poorer)than the brand name on it.

I've been on a search for a good ball that fits my style of play. I may have found one in the E5. I was impressed with the feel off the tee and off all of my irons. Maybe I was just having a better golf day, but the feel of the ball filled me with confidence (maybe over-confidence on some holes). Once I run out, I will probably purchase these again. However, I may not find them at the $10 price that I got at Play It Again Sports.

Used this ball for 3 rounds now. Good distance off the tee and good spin with the mid to short irons. Great feeling ball especially on and aroung the greens. Overall one of the better balls i've used in quite a while.

Excellent ball for my game and swing speed. I am a medium/low ball hitter and have a bit of trouble holding my mid to low irons. Not anymore. My trajectory with the e5 is slightly higher and I was blown away by how well the e5 holds greens and spins. Easily the most spin I have ever put on a ball. I thought I was losing distance with my irons, but it turned out I was just stopping shots where they landed. My home course in Colorado has hard, wind-blown greens that don't hold very well. These balls were a tremendous help in getting the ball pin high and having realistic birdie chances.

The e5 is a mid-range ball that performs like a top of the range ball. I was looking for a high quality ball that is cheaper than that of the ProV1 of Bridgestone B330s. The ball is a two piece, but has a urethane cover, which is meant to attain spin.

Bridgestone claim that the 432 dimples on the ball create a higher trajectory resulting in more distane. I would say that the e5 has good distance but nothing special. I also found it to go a regular trajectory, not a high one like it claims to have. The e5 had very little spin off the driver and as a result my shots where very straight.

The urethane cover is very useful on the e5. Both iron and wedge shots had great spin into the greens and held up just as well as a ProV1. The e5 had great feel around the greens and putted beautifully.

The e5 is designed for players of all levels and is a great ball at an even better price. Give it a Go!
