Ping Hoofer Bags

Ping Hoofer Bags

DESCRIPTION

The ultimate in carry bags. Its name comes from the "hoof" shaped design of the bag bottom -- which gives this bag characteristics unlike any other. It's slightly larger and more sturdy (yet lighter) than it's wildly popular predecessor the L8 Stand bag.

I have had all types of bags and by far, Ping makes the best stand bags! This bag is the lightest, and most durable bag on the market!! If you walk a lot, then this is the bag for you. The stand is really durable and strong!! Buy this bag!!

Overall a very good bag. Very light and durable. All they need to add to make it a GREAT bag is about 4 ozs. of nylon for full length dividers. I generally like to pull one club out at a time not three, but it's still the best carry bag I've used, albeit a little pricey.

I CRACKED UP WHEN I READ ALL THE OTHER REVIEWS OF THIS BAG. LIKE IT OR NOT IT REALLY IS THE BEST CARRY BAG AVAILABLE. I HAVE HAD THREE AND THEY ALL LASTED THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME- 14 MONTHS. I TRIED A SUN- MOUNTAIN AND THOUGH IT HAD MORE ROOM FOR CLUBS IT WAS JUNK, WENT THRU 3 SETS OF LEGS, AND WAS JUST PLAIN UGLY AND STUPID LOOKING. ANYWAYS- HERE'S WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE PING BAG
1- CHEAP FABRIC EATING ZIPPERS, AFTER 3 MONTHS MY BAGS HAVE HAD 3 0R 4 LBS. OF DUCT TAPE ATTACHED TO THEM
2- NO ROOM FOR CLUBS IN BAG UNLESS ALL POCKETS ARE EMPTY- FORGET EXTRA GLOVES, BALLS, RAINSHIRT, ETC. IF YOU WANT THE CLUBS TO SLIDE IN AND OUT OF BAG EASILY. ALSO ON THIS NOTE- I HAVE LEARNED TO RE- GRIP MY OWN CLUBS DUE TO SNUG FIT IN BAG- MOST GRIPS WEAR OFF ON OTHER SHAFTS AS CLUBS GO IN AND OUT OF BAG- NO LIE. IT IS A BITCH TO CLEAN GRIP SMEARS OFF OF IRON SHAFTS. ANYBODY FROM PING READING THIS???? PULL A CLUB AND GET THEM ALL. HERE IS A PIECE OF ADVICE. PUT YOUR WOODS IN PUTTER IN TOP WELL, PUT THREE IRONS ONLY IN EACH OF CENTER WELLS, PUT WEDGES AND SHORT IRONS ONLY IN FRONT WELL. NOW, IF YOU WANT YOUR LOB WEDGE SIMPLY PULL ON THE 3 WOOD- WANT THE 2 IRON? SIMPLE, JUST PULL ON THE 9 IRON. NEED TO PUTT OUT THAT 2 FOOTER?? YOU ARE GONNA HAVE TO YANK SIMULTANEOUSLY ON THE 5 IRON AND THE SAND WEDGE AND PRESTO!! UP POPS THE PUTTER. I READ WITH INTEREST THE REVIEW IN THIS SECTION OF THE 13 YEAR OLD WHO HAS CUT HIS HANDICAP IN HALF SINCE OWNING LE HOOFER. I KNOW WHY- YOU MIGHT AS WELL HOLE OUT ALL CHIPS, PITCHES, AND SHORT IRONS SO YOUR FRIENDS DON'T SEE YOU TRYING TO WRESTLE YOUR PUTTER OUT OF THE BAG, LIKE TRYING TO PIN A GATOR. I THINK WE ALL GET THE POINT.
3- THE LEGS FUNCTION HOWEVER THEY WANT TO ON ANY GIVEN DAY, TUESDAY I CANNOT GET THEM OPEN, FRIDAY I AM TRIPPING ON THEM AND CAN'T GET THEM CLOSED. MY FORGED IRONS ARE ALL CHIPPED UP FROM MY BAG DUMPING OVER IN PARKING LOTS.
ON THE PLUS SIDE, I AM A VERY CALM GOLFER AND NEVER LOSE MY TEMPER, EXCEPT WHEN I NEED AN 8 IRON AND WHEN I GO TO PULL IT THE DRIVER AND 3 IRON JUMP OUT AND POKE ME IN THE EYE/HEAD/NECK/CHEST/BREAST, AT WHICH POINT I USUALLY KICK THE HELL OUT OF THE BAG, AND IT ALWAYS STANDS RIGHT BACK UP FOR MORE- DURABLE LITTLE HOOFER. SOMEONE FROM PING PLEASE TEST THESE WITH A FULL SET OF CLUBS IN THEM- THAT IS 14 BY THE WAY- AND A COUPLE OF THINGS IN THE POCKETS TO SEE WHAT THEY REALLY DO. HATE FOR THESE BAGS TO TURN OUT LIKE THAT BIG UGLY STUPID DRIVER YOU ARE TRICKING PEOPLE INTO BUYING.

This bag sucks. Clubs get stuck when you try to put them in. Numorous clubs come when you attempt to pull one out. Terrible bag. Terrible buy.

I have had my Hoofer for 3 years as well and absolutlely love it. Incredibly lightweight and durable, zippers (YKK) have held up extremely well. I play about 70 rounds a year and my Hoofer isn't even showing wear. Once you get the straps fine tuned for even weight distribution on your shoulders you're set. Because walking is an important aspect of the game of golf I find this to be an outstanding product.

Status symbol, but not all that it's cracked up to be. I like the room it offers, but my big complaint is the lack of full length dividers. The strap system get tangled easily. I just bought a Cleveland bag (think its made by Belding) that is much better. It has the dividers and a dual-strap (backpack-style) that is the best around. Its much better than the Ping.

The Cadillac of carry bags. Tough, resilient and easy to carry. Straps need adjusting and must get used to. Downside is doesn't appear to be room for but one towel.
