I purchased (9) Ping hoofer golf bags for the high school golf team I coach. They are HORRIBLE... I cant say it any other way.
Three (3) of the bags broke within 6 months and another a couple months later.
The Dial that runs the length of bag and attatches under bag strap return and the bottom of bags is designed to go into a nylon pocket. The nylon breaks and frays letting the dial fall out the bottom. The same thing happened to all of our broken bags.

I have always used Ping carry bags and 95% of the time I walk. The Hoofer 3 is a poor effort for Ping. This bag is a lot heavier than the old L8, and also another Ping bag I have that I can't recall the model number for. The bag has some dowels used to add stiffness on the sides, and also anchor the internal curtains that separate the different club compartments, but the cloth holsters that these dowels run through have disinegrated and now the internal part of the bag is a complete mess. The padding around the plastic collar of the bag, which is intended to keep the hard plastic from scratching up the clubshafts, has also disinegrated.

I have used this bag for 50 rounds...a fair bit, but other Ping bags have lasted me more than 250 rounds with no ill-effects of this nature. I'm sending the bag back to Ping and they'll probably make it right but facts are this bag was a dud compared to other Ping bags I've had (and I've had at least 5 others).

It's a good looking bag, but it's heavy and the durability is poor.

Ping customer service is usually very good.

My older brother has one of these and I caddied for him, and another guy who has one, and those were the two best rounds of my life. The straps are great, and the storage is excellent. As a caddie I can say that it is a great walking bag, and very comfortable to use. I was going to buy one of these through my Country Club but they stopped making them and I was not happy. I love what I got though.

I wanted a basic carry bag with good ergonomics, capacity, and durability. I got this and more with my new Hoofer 3, plus classic good looks. I looked at all the usual suspects, as I was replacing my old Izzo which has served me well for the past 5 years. Aside from a broken plastic hinge for one of the legs, which Izzo replaced N/C, it has been solid. I narrowed it down to the Titleist X-48 and the Ping, but in the end the Ping won out. The Titleist bag's water bottle holder was made of that cheap vinyl that you know will crack in a year's time. In contrast, having owned the original Hoofer years ago, I new the Ping would be durable as they come. The quality of the materials and construction are visibily noticeable.

Great bag. This bag is much lighter and easier to carry than my previous bag, a Clevland Quick-Lite. The straps are very comfortable, and the zippers open easily. You can be walking down the fairway and unzip a pocket with one hand, unlike my previous bag when I had to use two hands. The Hoofer 3 doesn't have quite as much room as the Quick-Lite, but it's worth it for the stress it takes off my back.
