Mizuno MP T Series Black Nickel wedges
I purchased these on Ebay after doing extensive research and thought that these wedges would really be suited for my golf game. However, after I received them and tried them I didn't like them at all. I kept hitting them off the toe and I hardly ever hit my irons or wedges off the toe, usually my miss hit is on the heel. I hit them much shorter than my previous wedges. They are real soft, which I liked. I just couldn't get these to perform like I thought they would. I don't know if it was the wedge flex shaft or what but I traded them in for a set of Snake Eyes 600W forged wedges. Its cold here in Ohio right now so I don't know how they are yet. MP T series black nickel
all around very nice. some wedges may be able to put more spin on the ball, or do flops a little better, etc., but overall these wedges do everything very nicely. Feel wise, they are the best IMO. The only wedge I have tried that is close in terms of feel is the Nike forged wedges (also a very versatile wedge). I play a 53º & 58º set-up for wedges, an the black nickel had these lofts without me having to bend them (bonus - no trying to figure out bounces of 54º bent to 53º vs. 52º bent to 53º - you get the picture). The 53º is a solid preformer on fullshots (110 yrds for me), and is easy to take a bit off or knock it down. The 58º I use for most greenside bunker shots, and pitches that I need to stop soon after it lands...also a great wedge. These may not get the buzz of the latest and greatest Vokeys and Clevelands, but they are every bit as good, and feel better to boot! MP-T 53 and 58 degrees
I play Mizuno MP-32's and have gone through Vokeys and the new Cleveland Carbon Matrix wedges before going to the Mizuno MP-T series. Now I get the same sweet feedback on my wedges my other irons give me. Last round, I dropped a 53-degree wedge 105 yards to 5 inches from the hole. Perfect feel and control here. One word of advice - get your clubs fitted to your swing! I was missing right with these wedges until my clubfitter bent them about 1-degree upright, along with the rest of my irons, after checking my impact poi8nt and swing. Now, it's just dialed in. I was flopped the 58 wedge to within inches of a flag 50 yards away on the range today in cold weather with crappy range balls. It's about feel, not status, folks, and NOTHING feels as good as a forged club. And Mizuno is the best out there. I'll be laughing my way to a championship as my competitors use the big name Titleist and Cleveland wedges while I keep scoring with the Mizuno's (and the superb YesGolf C-Groove putter). And while I'm preaching, think about your lofts and don't just buy a 56 and 60. Find out the loft of your pitching wedge and work from there, whether you go 4 wedges or 3. My PW is 49 degrees, so my gap wedge is a 53 and the sand/lob wedge is a 58. Be smartm and think what works for your game, not what everyone else carries. Customer Service N/A - But do yourself a favor and get your wedges and irons checked for the proper lie, loft and length. You can't play well if the clubs don't fit your physique and swing. |

Mizuno MP T Black Nickel 53/08* & 60/05*
I have the MX-23's (3i-PW) in Nippon 950 stiffs & love them. These clubs are everything everyone raves about and then some, so I won't elaborate further on their performance. What I really want to plug, are the 2 Black Nickel MP T wedges (53/08 & 60/05) & the FLHI-HI CLK 17*. Why this company doesn't get the same ink on its wedge line that it gets on its irons is beyond me. helllloooo....Quality forgings are quality forgings. Wedges are your scoring clubs & how they feel is equal to, if not more important than how your long irons feel. Never have I felt a wedge that is this soft & offers this much control. If you're considering a wedge purchase, look into the Mizzies. Now, the CLK 17* that I have in the stock Exsar stiff is debatable. It does not have a "hot" face like so many hybrids do; in fact, it has a rather hard, muted feel. However, I like this sensation. If you were once a baseball player who used a wooden bat, I think you'd really dig this club. It's got a beautiful crack! sound to it when struck well, and just because it lacks in "hotness", it does offer feedback. Perhaps the muted feel is because of the graphite shaft & the graphite crown...I don't know...but I'm tellin' ya...this club is a bullet! The trajectory is piercing - not high w/ a buttload of backspin, and it plays beautifully out of rough, fw bunkers, greenside chips, short-of-green bump-n'-runs - you name it. Again, if you're looking for a very diverse, easy to hit, unique utility club, give it a try. That's all....Just wanted to give a company who is known for their first-rate forgings their due. They are outmarketed, and consequently, grossly overlooked for all their other fine offerings. Customer Service Haven't had to use, but the shipping was extremely prompt. I initially purchased the 51 degree as a gap wedge only However, I find you can easily play all sorts of shots with it: flop, sand, punch, etc. It is especially good out of rough lies around the green Fantastic spin and control, easily a match for Cleveland or Titleist Vokey These will creep their way into many a tour bag over the next year.....
