F2 plus 60 steel shaft
I couldn't resist and had to try these. I got the F2 plus wedges in 52, 56 and 60 degrees. Not sure if the plus is a newer model or not. These wedges impart silly spin on the ball. You really have to learn how to carry the ball all the way to the hole or hit a low punch wedge and allow for 2 bounces max and then watch it dance. Very versatile. I prefer to hit my wedges low for control and I can do that with these and not worry about the ball skipping over the green. I have never seen so much spin and see below what else I hit in comparison. It took practice on the range however to hit full shots. At first my full shots were scoopy and fell short. Then I discovered you really need to press the shaft forward at address to compensate for the forward face. I mean you need to forward press more than you think. This will not deloft the shot however as you would think. I was able to carry my LW 100 yards, SW about 110 and gap wedge near 120 yards. These are the same yardages I played for years with other wedges. On the course the other day I had to hit a low punch under a tree to a pin about 50 yards away. I dramatically shut the face on my 52 gap wedge, put the ball back in my stance and punched the ball below the branch. The ball never got above 10 feet , the ball hit the green took a few more hops and then spun backwards and slightly to the right due to cutspin I imparted. It was amazing. Never saw anything like it. I struggle out of the bunkers with the F2 because they work too well. I was sliding the blade under the ball and the ball would go straight up but wouldn't carry far enough. I need more practice. I am used to opening the face in bunkers but these wedges don't require that. from the grass you can leave the face square, take a full swing and cut under the ball and across it and hit a super high flop shot that only carries about 20 yards. They will extricate the ball from any lie effortlessly as advertised. They should be illegal but they are usga conforming. I won't give them the highest marks yet because I need to test them in a tournament to see how they stand up. They are definetly worth trying. What do you have to lose? I tried shanking them on purpose but failed to do so. You can hit them fat however if you open the face too much. Remember-they don't require any face manipulation at address. Let the loft do all the work.
