I've been playing these beauties for a couple of months after purchasing the X-Tour irons. The classic look suits my eye, and the spin factor was excellent. I can't say they tear the ball (pro-v's and hx-tour's) like the other reviews say, but I change my ball every nine holes or so anyway. I've also just purchased the new Cleveland 588 DSG and really like the buttery feel they provide for a non forged wedge, but prefer the spin of the Callaways. Overall I would say these are great for an above average short game, but would suggest trying the Cleveland's for a lesser skilled wedge player. Customer Service Great customer service, and now that Callaway bought Ben Hogan you can kill two birds with one stone if you have any issues with both brands! |

Callaway X-Tour 60* w/pm grind and md groves
The first shot I hit with this club was a 75 yd. three-quarter shot. Hit it crisply and watched it one-hop on the green and stop dead-in-its-tracks. Looked down at the club to find part of my ball still on it...they're not kidding when they say this wedge tears up balls.

Callaway X-Tour PM 60
In 25 years of playing a million (almost) different wedges, the X-Tour PM spins the ball far more than any other. It borders on the rediculous, for better or worse. These wedges are definitely not for someone with a golf ball budget. Mine cheese-grated HX Tours on simple chip shots. At the range, I literally cleaned strands of ball out of the grooves after a few full shots. They do have a great sole design which makes them very versatile from tight lies as well as out of rough. Bottomline - these wedges are for you if you want to hit a 20 yard pitch out of deep greenside rough and have the ball stop inside 5 feet of where it lands but you don't mind that your ball looks like it skipped off a cart path in doing so. Beside the downside of shredding golf balls, this is the best wedge I've played since the original Cleveland Classic 485 model. Similar Products Used: Too many different wedges to list. |

56 and 60.11 PM
Nice wedges. The feel is good and they seem to provide consistent distance. If you like spin you will love the 60.11 PM grind. It spins more than any wedge I have ever used, including the Vokey Spin Milled. You can get pretty aggressive on pitch shots around the green with this club. For those that don't like a lot of spin, this is probably not a wedge for you folks. This club is also very hard on golf ball covers as well. I have used this club a lot for almost two months, on the course and in short game practice areas a lot, and the grooves have probably worn in some. The spin still seems to be pretty strong and it is still fairly tough on golf ball covers, although probably not as bad as in the beginning. The PM grind does seem to make the 60 degree a little a little easier to use in a variety of lies. The sole is a little narrower than the Vokey Spin Milled 60 degree. Even though it is tough on golf balls I still have to rate it a 5 over all. In my opinion it is about as good as any Vokey or Cleveland wedge. Customer Service Not used. Callaway X-Tour wedge
These are great wedges. Coming of the face you can hear, and fell the spin of the ball coming off the club. It's almost like the ball is on autopilot to the hole. The only thing is that they probably have to replace them soon because of the grooves. Also the wedge probably tears the ball, especially the callaway hx 56 tour. Customer Service It took 6 weeks to get them customized, WTF? |

X Tour Wedges, 52 and 60MD
These wedges are very heavy, spin the ball quite a bit, but their biggest drawback is that they TEAR the ball like no other wedge I've ever hit. Even hitting short chips and pitches (<20 yards) will shear and tear the ball, whether it's an HX Tour, V1x, etc. I don't recommend these for anyone who doesn't want to change balls every time they use the MD grooves. I've used Titleist Spin Mill, CG10s, and Taylor Made TPs - with those wedges, there is minimal tearing of the ball, which I can play for at least 9 holes. Phil (you know the guy) can play anything he likes. I can not hit the XTour irons, but the wedges are solid with great touch and feel. I want the 52 and 60 now. I like to have the same feel in the wedges, so I guess that's my excuse to get the other two. Customer Service I have not had to request C/S.
