I only have the sand wedge in this series and have played with many other wedges. I didn't think it would be this good because it wasn't expensive. I never worry about sand shots with my Adams Watson gunmetal sand wedge. Too bad it is now discontinued. Only criticism is the gunmetal finish eventually fades and shows the wear.

I have to agree with the last reviewer. These are good for short pitches and lobs, but on full swings they are somewhat unpredictable. I like the look of them (nice profile). And yes they are a bit on the light side. It's a shame really. I even regripped them with expensive pro-line grips, but now they just sit in my garage. Watson is such a great player with his wedges, I too am surprised he's endorsed a mediocre product. Back to my trusty Wilson Dyna-Powered!!

i miss too many farways. the wedges do nothing to help. the only good thing about these is the price and chipping. for full swings they are awful. no feel too light i cant believe that watson lets them put his name on them. you get what u pay for. i worked at a course last summer and found a 60 from the older set. it was really new with perfect grooves. we have the hardest greens around, and it would check up and stop pretty well. i had never had new wedges (college budget) so i decided to put a set of these on my birthday wish list. well, i traded my used clevelands on a three wood, and it was a mistake. soon im getting som tm tp's. all these wedges did for me is create a gap from 120 to about 40 yards in my bag. they are unpredictable on full swings. not a bad idea for a new golfer. i went from shooting in the 80's to 90's by adding these clubs. the're about like the $12 wedges at walmart only harder. a case of getting what u pay for

Model Reviewed: Adams Tom Watson 2007 Wedge Set

Recently purchased the Adams Tom Watson 2007 three wedge set which includes the 52*-7 GW; 56*-13 SW and 60*-7 LW in the fog satin finish. Except for the cheaply made grips, which I replaced immediately, this wedge set is very nicely made and looks good at address. With my slow swing speed these wedges did not produce much backspin. Maybe a higher swing speed could achieve some backspin. Wedges did however stop within 3-4 feet of where they landed and appear to be very accurate when struck consistently. Head weight feels to be about average, i.e., not overly heavy.

This wedge set is a very good dollar value for someone looking to upgrade from a starter/beginner wedge into a complete set, but not wanting to speed a ton of cash on the more well known and marketed name brands.

Overall rating for the wedge set is a 4 because of the cheap grips which need to be replaced. However, the value rating is a 5 because the 3 wedge set can be purchased for under $80 delivered.

I am by no means a great golfer, but I am improving steadily. The best area of my game for a long time is my wedge work around the greens. Adding these 3 wedges to my bag has really helped my improve in my consistency because of the consistent distances and feel between clubs. I don't think they get as much as new "spin milled" or "zip groove" wedges from the big boys, but the ball definitely checks up nicely. These insanely sharp grooves are rumored to be outlawed soon anyway. Feel is great and the shape of these wedges is perfect. There is a LOT of control to be found here. The value is insane! Try them before they go away.

Adams, Tom Watson wedge set 52/7, 56/10, 60/8

These wedges have a really nice compact look to them. They really suit my swing nice with the low bounce on them. Was playing no name oversized wedges prior to these and was suprised how big a difference these really made. these wedges really improved the feel on pitches and chips for me and I noticed that i am definitely leaving the ball closer to the hole.

My only dislikes with the clubs are the heavy shafts and cheap grips. The steel shafts I got were suppose to be performance lite by true temper. They are very heavy to say the least. Grips are not an expensive fix so can't wine to much there.

I actually made a switch for next season to nickent's arc wedges. Nicer shaft and heavier swing wieght...we shall see if it was a good idea!

Incredible value. I got the entire set for $60.

Yeah, the grips are substandard (that's the reason for the 4 overall rating) but everything else about these wedges rivals the high buck stuff from Cleveland and Titleist.

Combined with a moderate spin ball (I use a Maxifli Revolution Solid), these wedges stop the ball on a dime. The ball is within three feet of the pitch mark every time, sometimes it hops forward and sometimes it hops backward.

If you are using cavity back wedges that match your iron set, do yourself a big favor and buy these wedges, you’ll be amazed by their performance.
