Titleist Scotty Cameron Studio Stainless Putters

Titleist Scotty Cameron Studio Stainless Putters

DESCRIPTION

The Studio Stainless collection is the newest generation of putters from Scotty's Studio. Milled entirely from 303-stainless steel, these putters have a distinct sound and feel, and are virtually maintenance free. The graphics and red color scheme are inspired by Scotty’s interest in 50’s era design. Studio Stainless putters include different hosel positions, slightly wider soles for a confidence inspiring setup, sole draft angles to ensure the putter never sits closed and a bead blasted finish to eliminate glare. Studio Stainless putters are all about performance and look as good as they perform.

This putter really instills confidence in the person who uses it. It feels solid at address and the weight/balance promotes a smooth, natural stroke, as opposed to jabbing at the ball. At first, it took a little getting used to, because it felt very different from the Rossie that I'd been using for awhile. But after a few outings to the putting green, I'm nailing putts like never before. The only thing that I would say is that the grip feels a little scrawny in my hands, but that's personal preference. I wanted to change it out, but I've been encouraged not to, since it'll impact the balance of the putter. It's an expensive putter, but the value is certainly there. If I were to ever lose or break mine, I'd buy another one just like it.

I just bought the newport 2.5 and its great. I play at an exceptionally hard golf course where the greens are fast and putting is tough. The true beauty of this putter is not only its stunning good looks and low mintainence, but its overall feel. I think This putter is one of the best you can buy and I have always been a fan of the Scotty Cameron studio stainless putters.

Model Reviewed: Titlelist Scotty Cameron Newport Studio Stainless 2.5 LH 33.5"

The Newport Studio Stainless 2.5 is a beautifully crafted putter by one of the most reknowned and meticulous individuals in the golf equipment industry. This particular putter is very well balanced and perfectly weighted. The combination of these two attributes allow me to keep the putter head on line from draw back to follow through. The neck of this putter is short and flowing. Aesthetically, the looks really appeal to me. From a practical standpoint, the neck setup benefits me tremendously because I tend to fan the putter slightly on the draw back. People who putt back and through may consider the Studio Stainless 2.0. The stock cameron grip by golf pride is very neutral and is properly sized for me. This allows me to feel the putter head throughout the putt. If the grip was any larger or heavier, I would not feel the head...any smaller/lighter and the head would dominate and feel too heavy. The length of the putter is an individual preference. I like a 33.5" overall putter length measured from the butt end to the middle of the putter head (sight line). I'm 5'11" and this allows me to let my arms hang while putting. As a 9 handicapper, I believe that putting is definitely the most important part of the game to lower your score. An 18 handicapper may disagree with me and feel that his middle irons are most important...while a 25 handicapper may feel it is the driver that is most important. Putting is truly an art and it is really a touchy/feely part of the game. For serious players the price of $250-$300 is not that expensive considering that you may require to use it 36 times a round. Most people would pay $400-$500 for a driver to only use it up to 14 times and lose many high price golf balls to boot! All in all a great putter.

When the putts drop, I shoot in the mid to high 70s, when they don't - the score is low 90s! I have used my Tad Moore to great effect over the past 9 years, but for the past few months, the ball seemed to stay out of the hole so I thought a fresh approach would pay dividends. I bought a Ping Anser2 Isoforce which I used about a month (still have it - it's great putter too!) and then purchased this putter at the urging of a friend who is a true Scotty Cameron fan (he owns several, including Circle T (Tour) models!) The first few times out, there was little difference, but after a while putts started to fall again, especially the important ones! The feel is softer than the pro-platinum and the upkeep and maintenance is certainly easier! The putter sets up well and the balance is perfect. To those considering purchasing this putter, I would say that if you going through a confidence crisis, it will give you a lift purely from the mental aspect. It looks good, feels good and IS good. You take out one variable simply because you can't blame the equipment anymore! Both Tiger Woods and Ernie Els use the studio stainless Newport 2 (Els uses an off the rack version)so it's got to have SOMETHING going for it. Don't forget to check the lie when you use this putter. Scotty measures putter length to the sweet spot, not to the hosel like other manufacturers.

This putter is the best ever made!!! I've tried other putters mainly Callaway's Odyssey White Hot Series and they don't stand a chance. When putting the feel is so good and the design so beautiful that you don't even think of missing. It's as if it can only go in. I changed the grip to a badminton grip, because I like the soft feel of it. The price is up there, but believe me, it's worth it.

I've played this putter for about 4 months now. At first liked putter alot but didn't putt much better. As familiarity with putter grew, putting kept improving and now I'm making more putts than ever, particularly 15+ feet. Even before it really helped my game, I decided I just plain liked the thing - the look, the sound, the feel, the headcover. Now I find it's improved my confidence, stroke, distance control and roll. I now look forward to putting and when I step on a green I can relax and focus on making a great putt. Did my putting simply get better and I just happen to be holding this putter? I don't think so, I think this putter helped me get to the next level. The cost is only high if you end up not liking it. If it works for you as it does me, it's immaterial. While golfers' relationships with their putters can be fleeting, I can't imagine switching.

First I got the mil spec and it was so good I went and purchased the Newport 2.5 and now I can't decide which one to use. These putters are exceptional and I've tried an awful lot of putters. I now can see why many pros use the Cameron putters- exceptional feel. The ball rolls true and the putter is well balanced.

I won this club at the golf store i work at, i do not think that i would spend that much on a putter, that being said... This putter did take about a week of practice to figure out, since then i have been close to amazed at the distance control i get using this putter. I will say that it slightly prefers faster greens, but i have played some slower greens and had the same control. I must add that i know my own putter specs exactly ( lie angle, length, grip size, stroke type ), which helps in selecting the putter that will fit my needs! I would recommend this putter to anyone who feels the money would be well spent, if nothing else you know you own quality.

I was struggling with my putting game after a couple of years using various mallet style putters (2 ball, Futura, White Hot #5). Decided to check out what putters the top guys in the world use. Guess what, Woods, Els, Weir, Leonard, Faxon all use Cameron Studio Stainless/Studio Design putters of some variety. I thought that there must be something in it so I took the plunge and bought the Newport 2 (Els's putter). Now I know why they use this putter ! The classic looks at set up, the swingweight, the butter-like feel on the ball, the distance control... I cannot talk highly enough of this putter. I took it out for the first time yesterday and without any practice on the practice green I was 4 putts after 3 holes ! Over the course of the round I must have shaved about 8 strokes off my score just putting. I've given it a rating of 5 for value purely because I think it will be in my bag for many years to come. Great Putter !!
