Scotty Cameron SS Newport 2
Just bought the Newport 2 in ebay for $210. Thought it might be a fake for that price, but turn out amazing... I've read so many reviews on the Scotty, & thought people were overselling it. Turn out that they are telling the truth, I am loving every minutes of it. The feel, the look, the grip, everything is superb. I can't wait to get on the green. I believe in equipment superiority, it is worth it. I am setting up with an open stance, I see the line clearer than before. (it must be confidence). Life is short, go for it...

First of all, let me say this: "I am truly impressed with the engineering of this putter from Titliest." I was very skeptical of all of the reviews because i am an individual that has to see and feel it before i believe it. This putter is amazing in regard to it's consistent (or rather my control of) distance control. The feel is soft but not to "buttery", which i feel is good for those long lag/sink putts. At set up, the putter lines up very square to the target. The only thing I didn't like was that there was not any marking on the "top" the the putter, but i fixed that easily with a fine point magic marker. However the line on the putter did help. I have only practiced with it on the putting green, so i don't know what impact it will have on my score. I do feel confident that i will be having less and less 3 putts.

After watching Tiger Woods hole putt afer putt after putt, and noting several other top tour players using this putter,i purchased one after reading much on the Titleist web site about the Cameron putter line...Im so so satisfied with my purchase...from the time i got it out of the box, the weighting, balance and finish, were truly a work of art,,yeah i know it's just a putter, but when you start practicing with it and more importantly playing with it, and putts roll so true and pure to the cup, you know this is a technologically advanced putter. I'd say anyone with a decent stroke and who is looking for immediate improvement in feel well benefit,,,,You still have to read the breaks , judge the speed, but straight putts in the 3-6 ft range are made alot easier...and NOW Customer Service N/A Similar Products Used: odyssey 2 ball , ping (many moons ago) |

Got this less than 6 months old gem for $150. At first doubted the putter for the price. Many of my friends commented for $150, I can get new TaylorMade or Ping putters.

Tiger Woods and Ernie Els use this putter along with other well known players as Mark O'Meara and Ben Curtis..This is a "high end" and very expensive putter and most golfers probably would not pay $300 for this putter..I nver thought I would but I've been a fairly avid golfer for the past 6 years..I started playing with a nondescript old set of clubs that my brother let me borrow but as my enthusiasm for the game grew so did my knowledge of the equipment out there..I became familiar with the Newport 2 early on as I am a big fan of Tiger Woods and knew that he had been playing with the same Newport 2 model since 1999..I think I read somewhere that he has won 7 + majors with this putter alone and has earned 50 million in prize money combined..in an interview one time he stated that the putter felt "comfortable" to him and knew whenever he had to make that crucial putt it would do the job..I guess that played into my fascination with the putter..I never thought I would plunk down the money for this putter but I did and I have no regrets..I'm still in the early stages of adjusting to a new putter but so far have enjoyed my time with it..I hope to add a more detailed review later on as my experience with this putter grows but I do admit spending time reading a lot of the reviews on this website as well as others..The feel of the putter is definitely much improved over other putters I've owned and you can really tell the difference in workmanship...you just feel like you're holding a very well crafted tool of the sport..a tool that has a had a great deal of thought put into it's design, materials and workmanship..The red grip is unique..thin..with a bit of a tacky feel but comfortable. The look of the putter is pure clean lines and instills confidence as you line up your putt..that's a big part of the game for me also..faith in your clubs in addition to diligent practice..I'm sure I'll be playing a whole lot of rounds with this putter and will eventually grow very attached to it like I am to my 5 wood..I love reading about clubs that other players play with and their attachment to various clubs..I don't think I buy a club because of the name..I do invest a lot of time studying the engineering behind these clubs and through generally playing with other avid golfers have learned what is quality and what isn't..I don't proclaim to be anything other than a weekend golfer who enjoys the game but I do seek to improve my short game skills and have been "working" consistently to improve my putting...if anything this putter brings that extra added positive mental approach and for that alone I think it's worth it! I've played several putters in the past with minimal success and finaly broke down and bought a Scotty. Now I can see what all the hype (and big price tag) is about. The weighting and balance on this putter is so perfect that even off plane putts will go straight with a true roll. I now have confidence while trying to sink a 35 foot putt rather than lagging and understand why players such as Ernie and Tiger play this putter. In my own opinion it is the best putter on the market and is worth twice as much as what I paid. Customer Service Bought from hillgolf on ebay (powerseller) and he was excellent. I got my putter with in three days of the purchase and thats with shipping to Alaska from Texas. Similar Products Used: Never compromise "Voodoo", Ping "Answer" with isoforce, Odesey "White Hot" |

Scoty Cameron Studio Stainless Newport 2
I first started with a wal mart piece of junk putter that weighed about 20 pounds. So when i went to a local golf store and bought a odyssey white hot putter, can complain about the white hot except for the inconsistenty which is mostly my fault. This past spring i bought a scotty cameron from the same golf store 2nd swing if you heard of it for $160... but bad considering a new one runs 300. This has to to be the best putter onthe market no doubt! i think just being able to say you have a scotty cameron give you a boost of confidence... or atleast i feel a boost... the lag on putts is better and more and more are dropped as i practice with it... if you could look for a deal on a putter for less than 300... use e-bay or try a place like 2nd swing. i mean how much can you beat up a putter. this one is is excellent condition all it was missing was the shaft band. Scotty Cameron SS Newport 2
I have to admit for the longest time I didn't "get it". By that I mean I didn't get what the big deal about a Cameron putter was. I have used just about everytype of putter there is, like most avid golfers. I didn't see why you would need to spend $300 or more on a putter. Now I "get it". I have been using a Cameron putter now for about a year and there is a difference in feel. I have used mostly a Ping Anser 2 which is a fine putter but the subtle feel of the Cameron is second to none. I may not hit you at first, heck it may not hit you at all but the thing I notice more than anything is the amazing distance control I have with my Newport 2. My line might be a little off at times just like everyone else but I no longer leave my lags 5 feet short or blow it by 10 feet past. The soft feel of the ball coming off the face of the Studio Stainless is truly impressive. And the stock Cameron grip adds just the right feel in your hands. The balance, the proper weight is really something to appreciate. And it is true, most people throw down $300 plus for a driver and really the putter is the most important club in the bag, maybe not the most glamorous but certainly the most important. The Cameron is a work of art I now own about half a dozen, I love the look of the Studio Design. But the studio stainless just feels right. I am very surprised there aren't more reviews on this model. Customer Service not needed Similar Products Used: 2ball, Ping - numerous, TM mezza monza. etc etc etc |

If you're after a putter that provides solid, consistent feel, this putter is for you. Whether I'm lagging a 45 footer or rolling a 15-footer, distance control is much easier with a putter that provides this kind of feedback (feel). The putter is easy to line up with its' single sight line. Yes, they're expensive, but half the price of drivers today which you'll use far less over the course of a round. Besides, I now regularly practice my putting as I enjoy the practice so much more. Go figure what happens next. Customer Service What customer service? I was not impressed. Good thing the product is great. Similar Products Used: Ping Isopur, Carbite Polar Balanced. |

When the putts drop, I shoot in the mid to high 70s, when they don't - the score is low 90s! I have used my Tad Moore to great effect over the past 9 years, but for the past few months, the ball seemed to stay out of the hole so I thought a fresh approach would pay dividends. I bought a Ping Anser2 Isoforce which I used about a month (still have it - it's great putter too!) and then purchased this putter at the urging of a friend who is a true Scotty Cameron fan (he owns several, including Circle T (Tour) models!) The first few times out, there was little difference, but after a while putts started to fall again, especially the important ones! The feel is softer than the pro-platinum and the upkeep and maintenance is certainly easier! The putter sets up well and the balance is perfect. To those considering purchasing this putter, I would say that if you going through a confidence crisis, it will give you a lift purely from the mental aspect. It looks good, feels good and IS good. You take out one variable simply because you can't blame the equipment anymore! Both Tiger Woods and Ernie Els use the studio stainless Newport 2 (Els uses an off the rack version)so it's got to have SOMETHING going for it. Don't forget to check the lie when you use this putter. Scotty measures putter length to the sweet spot, not to the hosel like other manufacturers.
