I'm a big center-shaft mallet fan!! I have a few blade putters that I rotate in the mix when I want a different look, but I always go back to this Cameron every time. If you like a putter that has a firm feel without a soft insert and a nice clicking sound at impact, take a look at this one. I love the five site lines on top for easy alignment also. I guess when it comes down to it, Scotty Cameron putters just have that nice evenly balanced feel that is hard to match. Customer Service Haven't had to use yet. But I hear that Titleist/Scotty Cameron is excellent!! Similar Products Used: Center-shaft: odyssey, ping, taylormade, and yes putters. |

Scotty Camero Futura Phantom II Mallet Putter
Very Fine putter. This was my fourth putter this year and this is the best. Putters are not like fine wine, they don't get better with age. They either have it or they don't. This one is a very, very sensible design with a center shaft and alignment system that is easy to use. It is not the arrow, however, but the archer in putting and if I hadn't found the right putter in 35 years of golf why am I writing a review about this new thing. Well, here it is: speed is everything. The ball goes the distance you think you are going to hit it. Period. I don't know why! And, it does not matter the length of the putt. With a little practice you will get your speed down. That is 70 percent of it in my book. The other 30 percent is reading the breaks and that is about the only thing this darn putter won't do. So an offline putt will still go offline but it will go the intended distance. The feeling is good when the ball comes off the metal face, it doesn't squirt off with a fairly low consitent roll. I got the 2 degree but I think the alignment system hoods it or soemthing accounting for the ball starting its roll soon after impact. The first couple of times I had a longish putt I didn't think it would make it to the hole, but did. It isn't terribly heavy, but it feels substantial enough. It feels like an extension of your arms. Natural comes to mind. Squares up well and the alignment system really keeps the putter face square once you learn how to use it. But it is very responsive. I am happy with it and there are a lot of bad dogs living in the garage that will testify to my impatience with a non-responsive flat stick. I have even used the putter for really long half chip/putt shots. Performs great. This is a putter that deserves the name golf club!
