Model Reviewed: STX SYNC 3

I had played the Sync Tour and Sync 4 putters and had good stretches of putting with both. Both those putters had the black insert. The 48" Sync 3 I'm using now is the first STX I've used with the red insert. I went through a bad stretch with my Sync 4 and I had to change things up to try to regain some confidence. Recently I saw Tom Lehman using a long Sync 3 during a tournament.I had seen Scott McCarron putting well a couple of years ago with his long Sync 3. When I got my 48" Sync 3 I tried to emulate his grip and shoulder rocking style. I still like the grip but I found while playing golf I was more consistent using a tossing motion with my back arm. This seems to help my distance control too. I'm starting to think I'm going to make putts again and we all know confidence is everything in putting. It seems that long putters were more popular a couple of years ago than they are now for whatever reason. I can see a lot of benefits from using this long Sync 3 and I expect to putt better and better as I get more used to it. It puts a great roll on the ball.
