STX Greeny I
The STX Greeny 1 is kind of the art deco version of the old Wilson 8802 styled putters. However, it is weighted...a similar feel to the "Heavy" putters - just a little less weighty. This weighting promotes a nice, smooth take-a-way and follow through. It also has less offset than the 8802 styles. Being "heel" shafted, it works great for the player who likes the open/closed door method of putting. The synthetic elastomer putter face insert is like butter! I used one of these after they came out years ago. Of course you go through phases where you try this and that...but, when I saw one on ebay a few months back - I had to have one again. Since using it once more, I have putted the best I ever have! I even shot my lowest score ever with it. I hate that it isn't manufactured any more. Classy, quality piece of golf equipment. Customer Service Never spoken with them...but, I did meet the STX rep at a PGA event. I told him that I used a STX putter and he gave me a headcover! Super nice guy! This is a great putter! I have the 48" model (that I use as a belly putter, but place the end in my xyphoid process, rather than my belly). I've reduced my putts per round from 32 to 27 just by getting this putter. If you have the yips over putts inside 5 feet - this putter will help immensely. Make sure to spend some time practicing long putts, though - that part is hard to get used to! |
