G2 Tess
The Ping G2 Tess is a great feel putter, with that being said it is less than forgiving when hit of the heal or toe. Anything inside of five feet shoul dbe a gimmie with this putter as the feel on the short puts is outstanding as with most blades, I am working on my third season with this putter, and am just now getting the hang of it. If you are looking for a putter to change you over night this is not your putter, go buy and Od. Two ball, if you are looking for a putter that will make you a better and consitently better golfer over time, then settle in with the tess and be patient, it will pay off in the long run. Overall a great putter, and a steal of a deal for me for less than $50 CND off of E-bay. Customer Service Ping is bar none have not done anything with the putter, but have sent back irons, and drivers to be repaired and the CS is fantastic. PING TESS BLACK DOT
THIS PUTTER IS AMAZING!! I HAVE ALWAYS HAD TROUBLE WITH PUTTING AND BEING OF A RELATIVELY LOW HANDICAP, THIS IS SOMETHING I NEEDED TO WORK ON. BUT WITH BEING LAZY I JUST DECIDED TO BUY A NEW PUTTER AND GOT A GREAT BARGAIN ON EBAY FOR THIS BEAUTY. I NOW MANAGE TO HOLE AT LEAST 1 25-30FT AND ON MY LAST ROUND DID NOT MISS ANY 0-8FT PUTTS, WHICH BY MY STANDARDS IS A MIRACLE!!! THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS PUTTER IS ITS LOOKS AND FEEL. NONE OF THE PUTTERS I TRIED BEFORE THIS FELT HALF AS GOOD AS THIS ONE DOES. HOWEVER I WOULD SUGGEST A PLAYER USE THIS THAT HAD A RELATIVELY CONSISTENT PUTTING STROKE AS IT DOES TEND TO FLY OFF THE FACE WITH A COMPLETELY PURE STRIKE, WHICH COULD BE A BIT FRUSTRATING ON REALLY FAST GREEANS, BUT FOR ANY HANDICAPPER THIS IS A SOLID BUY!!!! PING G2 Tess black dot 34"
With a simple flange look at address, and the traditional shape, it has the best feel and control on the greens that I ever felt in a putter. With PING's input, it's somewhat of a heel-toe putter, and this made the putter very much easier to use than an old flange putter with a dime sized sweet spot like from the 1950's. And the best part is that you don't have to raise the heel up and have a severe open-to-closed putting stroke since it is a form of a heel-toe putter afterall. Instead of adding weights to the sides of the G2 Tess, PING seems to have made a gapping hole in the middle of the back. A creative and efficient idea in my opinion. I love this putter with my traditional looking "PING" grip. I'm able to sink at least 2 30+ foot putts each round (on good days), almost never miss a 3 footer, and making quick tap ins is as uncomplicated as it can get. Things I could never do with any of the other back weighted or anser shaped putters I've used before. Miguel Angel Jimenez who won 4 times so far on the European Tour this year seems to like his PING Tess, and I do too. BHT~ age 16, PCHS golf team. the Ping G2 Tess blade putter may be the best putter ever made for those who like the more classic blade style putters. I am a putter fanatic to the point of being obsessive. I have (and still have many) other Ping putters, all of which are great, and I've had Scotty Cameron putters, not to mention many other high end brands. Until I bought the GT Tess I found myself constantly changing putters and, more often than not, going back to my old, trusty The Wilson 8802. Tess had all the qualities of the 8802, but more. It's heel-toe weighting makes it putt more accurately, the heavier head weight feels better and makes me more confident, and Tess has a consistently better feel even though, unlike the 8802, it is not forged.
