This putter (one of the older models) is pretty nice. I received it from two golfers who knew I was starting playing golf. This is a very nice putter, although it is a little heavy. You have to line it up, you can't just set the putter on the ground and hit it a foot from the hole. It is 35 inches long. I used to have a Walter Hogan putter that was graphite, and it had more flex than my driver, then I got this one.

The reason most people, including me, purchase this type of putter is for the alignment tool of the "two ball" decals on the backside of the club.

In my experience with it so far (2-months), I have seen a significant improvement in the 10' and under putts more than those outside of that range. I still do not putt like Brad Faxon or Tiger, but the 2-ball alignment is a good confidence builder.

For putts outside of 15', I don't like the feel as much as a traditional blade putter. Again, I'm no professional, but it is much easier to knock one too far past the hole, especially if you are reading some significant break. I realize that this is not the putter's fault. But, the additional mass of the clubhead will take some time to accquire feel.

Believe me I am not trying to talk anyone out of buying one as so much of golf is between your ears. As one other reviewer commented, the sound of the ball striking the putter is good, but when they fall into the cup, the sound gets even better.

The bottom line is that this putter is a real improvement, but requires some user adjustments.

the people who say this putter comes off too hot when you hit it off the centre with long putts are dilusional. This putter is the same as a steel ptter if struck normally. The problem with them is that they physcologically think about the metal insert being harder then the soft white part of the face. Then with that thought they proceed to hit it harder without thinking about it and not putting a smooth stroke on the putt. This putter is pure! If you know how to stroke it your flyinnnnnnnnng!! After months of struggling and finally realizing that my putting was lagging far behind the rest of my game, I decided it was time to update the flatstick. I have used an old Odyssey dual force blade for years with a love hate attitude. Sometimes I was hot and sometimes not (more recently REALLY NOT). I had been intrigued by the whole 2-ball concept for a while, constantly messing around with them at the local pro-shop, but I really wasn't happy with the way the white hot face felt. Then came along the white steel and everything changed. The steel insert made all the difference for me. Nice sound at impact and nice feel. I finally pulled the trigger and bought the white steel 2-ball blade. I prefered the 2-ball blade over the 2-ball mallet simply because the blade style was more appealing at address for me. Simply put, this thing is "AWESOME". As most others who have played with a 2-ball know, the alignment aid really works. Aside from the obvious alignment aid, the size and shape of the head, along with the two white disks, really helps me to see the shape of my putting stroke. I can almost immediately identify when I'm trying to take the club back "too straight" or on the other side "arcing" too much. Also, with the steel insert, mis-hits are easily identified by the sound alone. And the mechanics of the club are so good, unless you really goof, a mis-hit will still get you pretty close on those mid length putts. One thing I really like on this putter is the grip. I feel like I don't have to grip the club nearly as hard as my old dual force, yet I feel I have a nice solid hold on the club. It's not too soft, and whatever material they used almost feels like its slightly sticky. Of course I have only played a few rounds with it so I'm not sure if that will wear off or how getting the grip wet will affect it. I was a little hesitant to buy at first due to the price, as this is the most expensive putter I have ever bought, but I'm pretty sure it was worth it. Putting is fun again with this club. I shoot in the mid-high 80's (with an occasional trip into the 70's) and I'm by no means an expert on anything golf related, but I know what I like and I know what works for me.....This putter!!!

Odyssey Dual Force blade, 2-ball white hot

I picked up a White Steel 2-Ball Blade at 33" a few weeks ago. I'd previously been putting with a 34" Never Compromise Vodoo center shafted putter. The NC is a fantastic putter in its own right and has yet to relinquish the top spot in the bag to the 2-Ball, but this new offering from Odyssey is very, very nice indeed. When the 2-Ball first came out, I had absolutely zero desire to put one into play. Just toying around with them in the shop, I found the 2-Ball alignment aid both distracting and just plain goofy. But wanting to try a 33" putter and coming across a deal for this one, I gave it a shot anyway. After just four rounds of golf, it's easy for me to see the quality and effective function behind the design. The alignment aid really works, particularly for me while standing over the shorter knee-knockers. The feel is crisp yet subdued with it really putting a nice roll on the ball. Even at its shorter length of 33", the weight is substantial enough and the balance, perfect. But the best quality of all with this putter for me is ironically the one potential negative that I'd heard from others. Distance control on longer putts. Where I'd heard a few people state that they felt the face to be hot at times and thus effecting their distance-control, I've had no such problems. Actually, this putter has been the best for me in intuitively guaging distance. Almost uncanny. It really takes the guess work out of the equation for me. To sum it up, this club is the rarest of "gimmicks" that actually works while at the same time, clearly surpassing the competition. My Voodoo is barely hanging on simply due to its long run of solid performance for me. But just a few more rounds with the Odyssey performing as it has will mark the end of the Voodoo's reigh in my bag.

wow!i felt my putting needed a pick me up, a new toy. I tried several putters and finally saw this. The design is beautiful for starters ,simply jaw dropping ,then my attention was drawn to its performance. once i decided this was my final putter i took it out for a round.the confidence delivered from the alignment system is amazing. i felt like no putt would ever trouble me, like id unlocked that secret to golf.sadly you cant use it off the tee but it works dandy on the aprons!buy this putter

Over the past few years putting has been the weakest part of my game. This putter gives me the confidence I once had years ago. Great feel and alignment. Five feet putts feel automatic.

Previously I went from using a Cameron Studio #2 which I love. Last month I bought an Odyssey white hot 2 ball putter and tried it for several rounds of golf. I loved the two ball alignment system but the feel was lacking especially since I was switching from a steel putter. Puts from 2-5 ft were ok but further out distance judgment became a huge problem. Long lag putts were almost always short or too long. I also did not like the lack of feedback the white hot insert gave or the way it sounded (lack of sound). Its been sitting in my garage since then. I then read about the new metal inserts. I exchanged the 2 ball mallet for the 2 ball metal insert blade and gave it a whirl. By the time I hit the back 9 fist time out with it I had already decided to put my Cameron up on ebay when I got home. This is definitely my new putter. Over 18 holes I had 29 putts which is great for me. This thing is just awesome. When Odyssey added the metal insert they definitely got it right this time. The putter now has a good sound and nice feedback. I can now leave 20 ft puts within 2 ft of the hole. From 4-8 ft this putter is deadly accurate. If you are thinking of buying an odyssey 2 ball forget about the standard insert and get the metal.
