Model Reviewed: Northwestern "No Doubt" Putter

This is my first time to write a review. I have been using the Northwestern "No Doubt" putter on and off for about 3 yrs now. I say on and off because I change my golf equipment frequently depending on conditions (and my mood!). Of the 5 putters I have the Northwestern is my favourite for a number of reasons. Firstly, I picked it up at a sports retailers in Ireland for 16 euro (less than $21 or £14 by todays rates). This was great value considering that a lot of the top of the range "big name" putters, some of which I also have, often retail from 100-250 euro. Putter also came with head cover. Secondly, I like the ball court visual aid for getting a line on putts. I am impressed with the solid, but not harsh feedback from the putter. It has a sweetspot!!. At the same time it is very forgiving on off-centre hits, unlike many blade putters which tend to turn in my hands and come up well short of the mark on mis-hits.
I find the heavier than average head weight ideal for those lag up 30ft long putts or from the green collar/surround. It will make a ball travel even with a short putting back swing. This putter has been my "rescue" club around the greens plenty of times.
The only gripe I have with this putter was the original yellow stock grip. It was soft and tacky to the feel but hard to keep clean even with detergent and brushing. In fairness it was often carried in a shoulder bag without club dividers which seperate grips so this contributed to the discolouring. Grip has since been changed to a black Lamkin paddle grip.
Overall I am very happy and confident with the Northwestern No Doubt putter and at that price I feel I got superb value for money on my investment. I have often lost more than 16 euro worth of golf balls with wayward shots on windy west coast weekends!!.
