Who has seen the infomercial with Jean Van de Velde at Carnoustie? Great concept. This is a really fine putter, I am not sure about all of the Grey matter nonsense, but you can definitely tell this putter is balanced. All of the weight seems to be in the heel and toe areas. The overall heavier weight of this club really improves the smoothness of your putting. The square block of grey in the middle is an excellent alignment aid and if you can't square this putter up, then golf is probably not going to work for you. Positive feedback on well struck putts and slight but evident aid on mis-hit putts. Distance control is excellent. The best feature of this putter is the lack of hot knocks. You know those surprising putts that leap off the putter unexplainably fast. It's like the putters version of a shank. Van de Velde takes a six by the way. This putter gets Five.

This is the greatest putter EVER. First time out with it I sank 2 20 footers for birdie. Can't wait to use it in a tournament. BUY THIS PUTTER IF YOU WANT TO GET BETTER.

Further to my 4/2/2001 entry, I thought it might be reasonable to post an update regarding my own personal NC Delta Zi vs Scotty Cameron Newport putter debate…..

In general, my typical putting failures tend to appear about this time of the year and my 1-2 putter combo was supposed to help those times when one begins to fade and the other picks up the slack. It sounded great in theory, but to use a baseball analogy for this interesting scenario, the NC emulates Roger Clemens pitching a 1 hitter going into the bottom of the ninth with two out and his heater still clocking 97mph while Mariano Rivera watches aimlessly knowing that he won't be pitching AGAIN tonight.

It's very confidence inspiring that you can have two quality putters (let alone even finding one) that perform so well. I trust the yips of yester-year are a faint memory with this dynamic duo, but my sincere congratulations to the engineers at Never Compromise for producing an exceptional product !

The best I've tried to date. Forgiving, deadly accurate, nice touch, good feel. Not dead like some of the soft face models. I used a Wilson 8802 for years because of the nice feel and the "touch" I had with it. But it is not forgiving. The Z1 Delta gives me the touch I want with great forgiveness, and is very accurate. This putter took about 5 strokes off my game.

Probably the last thing I needed was another putter (I guess I just like to collect them?), but after putting around with the NC Z1 Delta at my local Pro Golf store and rarely missing anything, I decided to make this putter part of my collection.

It's still cold up here in Canada, but at least you can putt in the house during the winter and I've put this putter up against my prized Scotty Cameron Newport. I expected it to finish second to the Titleist and have it around when I began to get the "yips" with Scotty and rotate them as required. Remarkably enough, the Z1 kept pace on short and long putts along with some benders (certain parts of my basement floor have minor undulations which is great for indoor practice plus it "stimps" out at about 9 so it's quite fast). I've got one stretch where I can putt unencumbered in a 50 x 15 foot area; therefore, there isn't much I can't try.

Having said all that and after a significant amount of time comparing, it's a deadlock! I'm going down to the States again soon to get in a few rounds and now have the tough dilemma of deciding which putter to take. I played 4 rounds in San Diego in January and the Titleist was great, but I feel like I can line the Z1 up a bit better visually. It significantly different from the Titleist but is equally as welcome in my hands.

In summary, the biggest compliment you can pay a product is comparing it to the industry leader and having a tough time deciding which one is better. Right now, I'll say it's a wash but I guess it creates the same dilemma hi-end car owners have when they debate which car is better, a BMW and Mercedes? A couple of games south of the border should decide a clear winner!

I've seen several professionals use this putter. I'm not a big fan on trying a product by a new name. But one day I happened to have time on my hands and decided to hit with it. It (noticeably) felt good. After messing around for about 30 minutes, it felt great. I like the weighting and the grey matter--even though I don't know what it is. But I do notice that it presents you with a great feel of the ball--soft and controlling.
I purchased this putter used but in excellent condition. I think my Ping Scottsdale Anser just became a collectors club because I'm now using the NEVER COMPROMISE Z/1 DELTA!
