I bought this putter to replace an old alien putter that I broke. It is not a bad putter. However, there are many putters that are a better deal. This putter may look easy to align in the pictures, however, when you get out on the golf course it is a whole other story. The weight is much to heavy to control. The biggest complaint I have is the lack of forgivness in the putter. You have to hit it directly in the center of the brass insert. The feel of the putter is very soft. If I were goling to buy a putter I would buy an old used ping. You can get one for 30 to 60 dollars. I currently have the ping anser putter and I love it. |

As a hi-handicap golfer my favorite stage is the green. I always prefer putters with site lines to help me align the club face. This mallet style putter is a dream to grip, align, and strike. I use very little muscle in my putting stroke so the weight of the putter is critical to the momentum transfer. The feel and feedback allow me to easily gauge how much arc required to hit my target. I love this putter. It makes lining up the putt so much easier. In my only round with it I managed to sink a 15 footer and a number of 5-6 footers. Normally I would miss the majority of the putts over 3 feet, but I felt more confident in my alignment with this putter. The only thing I don't care for is the weight. On the one hand its good as this keeps the putter on line, but its bad because I've had a hard time gauging speed thus far. Its hard to get a good feel with a heavier putter. Overall I like this and I plan to use it in my quest to break 90 this summer. Customer Service Golf Galaxy was excellent in finding me a putter head cover, however I understand that Carbite is now out of business. Similar Products Used: Never Compromise |

I am remaining faithful to my ZG despite some affairs with others, the most recent of which was the "2 ball". Bar none, this is the undisputed, undefeated heavyweight champion of the world of lag putters. If you hate three putts and like your par putts to be "pro length" (6" tap-ins!) you might want to consider this remarkable tool. Customer Service When you never throw it, who needs it? This is a very foregiving putter.I have been playing for 25 years and my putting was holding me back.I've tried every putter around.Point it, put a good stroke on it and it works.Great on lag puts.Has taken an average of four strokes my handicap. This will stay out of the closet for a long time. I play less than 10 times a year and never buy new clubs (still using the ultra-cheap used set I started with--I'm a lefty and shopping for clubs is truly an exercise in frustration). However sometimes clubs choose you. Being a lefty is a disadvantage, but I discovered this putter because of it. Usually any golf shop has only a handful of lefthanded clubs, and even a big discount shop with 1,000 putters will only have a short rack of lefties. It's never difficult to try them all. Well, I had zero interest in Carbite--no name recognition whatsoever--and was not looking to buy a putter. But it was obvious to me that I did better with this than with others. I "yip" slightly--I have a good smooth stroke as far as direction goes but sometimes have trouble hitting the ball just in the center of the putter. This thing hits straight anyway. Other putters don't. It's pretty plain. I've now been back to that shop twice more and each time I try the ZG again and each time my original conclusion holds true. There's nothing wrong with my ancient Acushnet putter (don't laugh, Acushnet makes Titleist and Cobra), and I don't need to spend my golf budget on a putter given how little I play, but I'm going to get this. I'll be interested to see whether my impressions in the shop equate to any fewer putts on the course, but if they don't I'll be quite satisfied to believe it's because I'm not a very good putter and don't practice or play enough. @@@@@@@ I'm writing this review because if you're an occasional player without much interest in clubs I still think you should make it a point to find this putter and try it--you might agree with me that it really *is* different. was using Cameron Studio 1.5 and was in love, but then i met another. The beastly carbite was for me. Every time i step on the course my buddies rip on me, but i'm the one sinking the puts. People say it's like dumping a super model for Anna Nicole Smith(who was once extremely hot!), but as they say "more cushin for the pushin." Customer Service great got my putter in 33' Similar Products Used: everything |
