Very nice feel to these clubs. they are more accurate than any other club I've played. I think is has a lot to do with the shaft. Similar Products Used: None |

Sam Snead Signature Blades
Started playing the game after retireing and had bought cavity back cast irons to play with. Used the cast irons for two years and could not get my average down at all. A friend recommended switching to forged blades and so I kept my eye open for some. Found the Sneads and was surprised at the low price, especially after the price I paid for the cast irons. I soon discovered that I had a much better feel for the ball and could drop a club down for the same distance. Yes they are not as forgiving, but when hit right they are thunder! I love them, had new shafts and grips put on this winter and sold the cavity backs to my son-in-law. He is yet to beat me. {g} Similar Products Used: Ping, Ultra's |

Wilson Staff 1971 Button Backs
That's right...I paid $60US for a 2-PW set of used 1971 Wilson Staff Button Backs, I had a really good bargain (Also bought a Titleist Bullseye putter there as well for $25)...anyways, I'm new to this addictive game (7 months and counting) and have grooved a sound swing that these clubs demand...all of the Wilson Staff Blades are good but now I know why many consider these particular model a sought after classic, when hit flush, it is so much sweeter than the FG-17s (which are also a pleasure to play with as well). While many of those new techno-irons made every year are overpriced and made to appease the golfer with the bad swing, these Wilson Staffs don't take crap from no one. Swing them right and they'll do you good. These irons gave me the right habits at such an early stage to prevent the ingrain of bad swing habits. As a result, I'm not afraid of hitting the long irons as they go at least 200 yards and can hit my driver straight and true and used to badly slice. They can be easily customized to fit you since they're forged and are just a fraction of the cost of new irons since you can only find them used, they offer tremendous value to the beginner golfer or the scratch player.... Customer Service I wish Wilson could start the forged presses again and dump that fat-shaft cast club gimmick. Similar Products Used: Wilson Staff FG-17s, Ping Eye2 Clones |

The best irons I have ever hit. Got them re-chromed in the States 5 years ago and, because I use club-covers, they still look new (my pro in the states wishes he still had his set). I have hit every new set to come along because, like everyone out there, I think there must be the perfect set that will take me to scratch just by using them, but to no avail, these are still the best, and at 1/3 the price of 990's, they can't be beat. Similar Products Used: 990's, 962, Cleveland forged, Muzuno Forged, pretty much everything I can get my hands on. |

I was hitting cavity backs until recently purchasing these clubs on Ebay. All I can say is why did I wait so long? If you have a decent swing and hit each iron w/expected distance, DON'T HESITATE ANY LONGER!!! When you hit the ball right w/forged clubs, you hardly even feel it - That's what people really mean about "feel" w/forged, that there's no feeling when you hit 'em right. And yea, when you screw up they'll spank ya back a little (and you deserve such lessons). Just awesome otherwise. The over-used term "sweet" does apply here. you'll be alarmed at the small head size and thin look, but when you take your first actual divit and the ball flies true and far, we'll be seeing your over-marketed cavity junk on Ebay. a set of stiff shafted, taper tip, '66 forgings is as good as it gets. Best working of the ball, fun, makes the golf course new. If you can find a set, have them refinished at Golfworks, reshaft with dynamic taper tips. HAVE FUN. Similar Products Used: apex '84, hagen '73, mizuno '98, ping eye 2 '88, armour 845 '96 |

Borrowed these clubs from my friend and want a set for my own. Fairly inexpensive compared to some other manufacturer's and play just as well. Similar Products Used: None |

If you want to play blades you cannot go wrong with Staff Tour Blades. My favorites are the 78-80 models and the 81-84 FG17's. They can be found for about $100 a set and along with a modern shaft is as good as any blade out there. Similar Products Used: All current Mizuno Blades, Titleist Tour Models, Snake Eyes MB1, Hogan Apexs, and various other blades just to name a few. |
