STAFF PROGRESSIVE
These were the best kept secret in golf. Early 90's vintage I beleive. They our a combo set 2-7 irons are forged cavity back. The 8-pw is a forged blade. The set I have came with 2.8 firestick steel. They measure out on a frequency machine as a soft stiff like 5.5 rifle, s200 true temper. This shaft and club heads are a perfect match well balanced. A good swing will result in a very solid feeling impact, not as soft as my Mizuno mp 14 but better than anything else I have ever hit. I have played 5 rounds with these clubs. I am a 8.4 index handicap, have shot a 76,2 77s,79 and a 81 with these irons. What is very noticible about these irons is the spin on the mid irons. I have hit about 7 or 8 5 irons from 185 to 195 all have hit, 1 bounce and stop. I can not do that with my Mizuno's, they release about 10 to 15 feet. Another feature is you are not punished on bad swings as with the mizuno's. Don't get me wrong the mizuno's are great clubs and I'm not selling them. Just these Wilsons are very forgiving and very solid club. If your playing cast clubs and want to go to the next level you would being doing yourself a favor by checking the Progressive's out. If you can find a set. I been watching ebay now for 5 weeks to get a set for my buddy. I guess people who own a set must be very happy with them. FG-17 w/ Dynamic Gold Lite (stiff)
These are easily the best irons I have ever used. I have played a TON of irons so it is something for me to say that. They have great feel, are extremely accurate, and produce the most penetrating trajectory I have ever seen. I feel like I have complete control over the ball flight with these irons, as well. Part of my success with these irons could probably be attributed to the Dynamic Gold Lite shaft. This is my first experience with this shaft and I love it. I am 34 years old and am starting to appreciate a little bit lighter shaft weight. I am finding that I am at least 1 to 1.5 clubs longer than with my other sets. I hit the 7 iron 165+ and that, for me, is a first. Bottom line - find a set of these on eBay and buy them. You won't be dissappointed. Customer Service Haven't used. I bought these irons from Ebay for $65! I've played with lots of cavity backed irons and was amazed at the accuracy and feel these clubs gave me. Although they aren't as forgiving, I do believe as many of you have said that you become a better ball striker using a forged blade such as these! Also, at the course people are always asking about them because they are so classic and yet professional looking. Then they see how I can score with them and it usually blows them away! Wilson Staff FG-17 blades
OK, I'm back for another review of the Wilson Staff FG-17 irons. I shot my second 69 ever with them two weeks ago. I hit 14 greens in regulation. They are so accurate it's amazing. It's a totally different feel than with the Callaway 04 big bertha irons. The small head of the Staff's makes you concentrate and creates a better swing. They're so much easier to hit under trees, fade when you want, chip, etc. I love them. Similar Products Used: Callaway X-12, x-14, big bertha. Ping Eye 2, Cleveland Quadpro, Taylormade RAC, etc. |

I have been playing with Wilson blades for about 5 years now and I would say they are the best clubs I ever hit. Very soft feel, Long and extremely controialable. When I am on there is no stopping me with these sticks. The heads are so small if you hit the face you are going to hit the sweet spot. If you are going to play blades go with Wilson. |

Wow. I have played and hit many irons over the last 15 years including Ping Eye 2, Mizuno MP-14, Ping Zing, Titleist 990, etc. The staffs are the best feeling and most accurate iron out of them all. I really think the whole perimeter weighting thing is overblown. These are so accurate and so easy to chip with it's amazing. They also make you focus more on hitting the sweet spot which results in better swings. These will stay in my bag and I only paid $62 for them on ebay and they're in great shape! They look cool in the bag too. Similar Products Used: I've tried them all. I'm a 4 handicap FYI. |

Wilson Staff Blades FG-17
I just recently decided to put together a set of classic clubs for fun. I have a mint set of LEFT handed FG-17s that I bought new and have not played more than 5 or 6 times. They have been sitting in my closet for all these years. I recently got them out and now plan to have new grips put on them. I know that when I hit them properly, it was the best feeling club I had ever used. Unfortunately, I did not always hit them perfectly. Now I will put some new grips on them and give them another try. Along with a brand new set of laminated wood woods I picked up, it should be a lot of fun to use them once in a while. Being LEFT handed, I guess they are now as rare as chicken lips. At one time I thought about selling them, but now after reading all these reviews, I think I will hold on to them. Thanks for the encouragement, guys! Customer Service never needed Similar Products Used: Since 1960s Wilsons, Spaldings, now Clevelands |

Picked up a set on ebay after reading about them at house of forged. Played them and was amazed at the difference of feel. Sent them to the iron factory to rechrome them and regroove them. Reshafted them with dynalite s-300s. unbelieveable! I've played forgings all my life and have found these to be the sweetest, and after the rechroming, they are really a sharp looking club, playing better for one who likes accuracy, feedback, good response and feel. The vintage models with a little refurbishing become just as new as the higher priced, techno brands that you pay to include the huge endorsements and advertisements of today's big market jocks. Anyway they are phenomenal clubs and rechroming and regrooving is a good investment. Similar Products Used: wilson goosenecks, ram laser FX, precept tour premium and the CB's, Taylor Made 300s |

I just purchased my second set of FG 17s and I will never switch. The small heads and super soft forging make these irons extremely easy to work the ball. For the price you can't beat them. They are just as long as any newer iron out there along with the added benefit of total workabilty. I've owned everything and still stuck to these old blades. Find a set and buy them. If you don't like them, I'll buy them from you!! Customer Service House of forged is and awesome website. You can buy and types of classic blades from all the big makers at great prices. Robert Kent is a great guy who would never steer you wrong. Similar Products Used: Titleist tour model, all the Wilsons, MacGregors and Mizunos |

A great set of clubs! for only $270AU, the hollow back long irons are pure and easy to hit off any lie and easy to shape shots. The short irons are a beautiful shape and also have great feel and playability. A wonderful set of clubs. |
