Wilson Di5 Distance Irons

Wilson Di5 Distance Irons

DESCRIPTION

Weight in the Di5 is moved from the heel area in the short irons to a lower, deeper position in the long irons where the weight is needed for maximum forgiveness and higher trajectories. With a unique cavity undercut and heel notch, and top-line width progressively increasing from the short irons to the long irons, weight is gradually shifted away from the face, improving perimeter weighting and forgiveness. A sizeable high COR thin face reinforced with a lightweight carbon weave support, as well as an increasing offset.

I have just purchased this set for 199 U.S. and I have to say this is the best value set of irons going around, two birdies on two par threes (200m - 3 iron and 176m 4 iron) straight as a arrow and as long as my playing partners taylor made three wood. If your not afraid of using long irons, these are a fantastic set to consider, and you cannot get better value!

Easy club to hit but I would suggest swing speeds of 95 plus avoid the graphite. Same club will vary 30 plus yards with the same swing. Got an awesome deal on my set but will be trading them for RM's, Ci6's or Deep Red II's.

bought these irons three months ago and wow! very impressive. i am 15 and 14 hcp. i used to hit my starter brand 7 iron 130 tops. wilson staff 7 iron 155-160, high and straight. these irons are top quality. golf pride grips and true temper steel shafts. these irons are pretty difficult to shape it with(good for most). if you're trying to play the low cut under and around that tree then you don't want to have these irons(you should probably chip out anyways). fairly chunky looks that will inspire confidence. my biggest issue with them is the large distance gap between pw and almost every other 56* sw. for me its 30 yards. all in all great clubs for superb value. best value iron on market!

I think that theses clubs are exceptional. I am 14 years of age and play off 8. These irons are as good as they get for distance, control and accuracy. Having played with various irons such as callaway and taylormade, i converted very well to these wilson staff's. I will recommend these clubs to any range of handicap!!!

I bought these over the weekend and played three rounds after testing several sets and different shaft flexes. I bought 5-PW 1" long shaft 2dg upright with stiff steel shafts with 3 & 4 hybrid graphite. These are long and straight with a sweet feel. They are vastly superior to the more popular Adams Idea. Not great for shaping the ball but I will take long and straight anytime.

I got these irons early 2006 and used to shoot 110 but now i am shooting low 90s almost every round. They have boosted my hitting distance a lot. For example, my 6 iron was around 130 yards when i first got the irons. And now i hit it 160+. As i am becoming a better golfer i have noticed problems with the irons. For example, the PW is very difficult to control around greens and the irons dont really produce the amount of spin i would like. But these irons more than make up for that in raw power and distance.

I replaced my Old Irons with these and as a 15 handicapper I can say they are forgiving, hit the ball a nice distance and will result in my handicap going down.
My only dislike is that the club face marks upon use .....I'll live with it!
Very good clubs over all.

The DI5 like the DD5 Driver is a very nice looking iron. I used to play with Tommy Armour SilverScott 2(1998) and the difference is certainly abundant. I can hit the pitching wedge in this set 140 metres(150 yards) if i strike it well. I also can get about 195 metres(213 yards) out of my 3 iron if i strike it good. I have regular flex nano tech shafts and again can't speek highly enough of them. This set comes into it's on accuracy, the are exceptionally accuarte when you hit them right, even when you don't they are very accurate. If there is a slight down side to this set is the workability isn't great for lower handicappers. But it isnt meant to be, as these are forgiving distance irons. I would reccommned these clubs to a golfer with a handicap between 10 to 30, I have a 10 handicap myself. Overall these clubs have a beautiful feel, are easy to hit and would have to be the longest most accurate irons going around.

Customer Service

Very good, they got the clubs to me with in a week, when the estimated eta was 2 weeks.

Have been playing for about a year now and bought these clubs half way through the year. I was shooting low/middle 100's. first round with these i shot a 98. i now shoot the occasional round in the 100's due to no fault of the clubs. the contact and feel of these clubs are brilliant, and they have added extra distance to my game. A must for a high handicapper.
