My deep red fat shafts were my 1st quality set of irons (I learned the game playing with MacGregors). I've hit many irons since getting my wilsons a few years ago, and have not found any that I can hit as straight / far / consistantly. These irons are distinctive and heavy - as long as you're not scared of that, they're well worth the investment! |

I have owned a set of these clubs now for roughly 6yrs and are by far the best set of clubs I have owned. For a number of yrs i played golf without drivers, i felt confident stepping onto a golf course with irons only, and a putter. These clubs are a credit to their creator. |

i thought i would write a review on these clubs after playing them for 3 years now. i still like these clubs as good as the day i bought them. seems i am hitting them a little futher than i use to so i am having to watch what club i grab. i was 165 yards out from the pin the other day and grabed my 8 iron and put the ball about 20 yards behind the green on a nice easy swing. i can hit the pitching wedge 140 yards everytime with no problem. the clubs have wore good playing about a round a week since i bought them 3 years ago. if i can ever find another new set i will buy them for when the time comes to retire my old set. the only club i've found even close to the deep reds is my son's set of clobra oversized SS. i would highly reccomend these clubs to anyone, used or new if you can find them. I have played pings, titlest, callaway and about every other club you can think of. I am a good fairway wood player, but never could hit irons well. All of the above are good clubs, it was me. I read reviews about Deep Red and I bought a set Graphite Regular. I am so much more accurate. Where I was hitting 8 to 9 iron with my other clubs for 100 yds I now hit PW or SV It sounds hard to believe but true. 150 I had to ease up on 7 wood. Now 5 iron or 6 iron easy swing. I could sell these clubs for a living. I am 58 slow swing speed and finally have the perfect irons. Similar Products Used: Pings, callaway titleist, hogan, etc |

Wilson Deep Red Regular Fat Shaft
I picked up the game kind of late, at the age of 27 (I'm 34 now). My previous best score was 91 (last year) with an old set of Wilsons. My friends joke about how often I change clubs. In fact, after I shot the 91 I went out and bought a new set. 2 weeks ago I picked these Deep Reds off ebay for $150. I played with them that weekend and shot an 88, my new best score. Having played Taylor Made (200), Titleist (962's), Zevo, Top-Flite Tours, Cleveland (TA3)...the list goes on, I have become a Wilson convert and fan for life. Maybe its just my game, or maybe these clubs. But Wilson has to be the most underrated golf company out there. They've been around a long time, some of the best players ever have played them...maybe there is a reason for that. All I know is that I've tried alot of clubs (the folks at Golfsmith here in Austin think I work there), and I've shot my 2 best scores with Wilson. You can bet I'll be sticking with Wilson. Deep Red irons
These clubs really are long and straight, just as advertised. I have the light flex stell shafts 4-PW+SW. I think they play more like a regular, a fairly stiff regular at that. I hit my 8 iron like 150, and im only 100lbs! The lofts are a little stronger than traditional clubs so ball flight is not super high, but it is a good flight anyways. I live in Montana so the low flight plays well, we have a lot of wind. I rarely strike a decent shot that doesnt go straight. These are great clubs. My only complaint is that the PW is only 45* so its not very high, i suggest chipping with the SW if you need to stick the ball on a small area. If you dont like SW's i suggest buying a ap wedge, 52*. These clubs may yeild higher shots for some but i have a slightly descending swing path so i htink you will be happy if you buy these. I recomend regular shafts for anyone, the stiffs are really really stiff, because they dont taper so the tips are stiff. a soft tip is what gets the ball up in the air. great club overall I picked them up for 200 brand new a couple years ago. they are easy to find for quite cheap now |

Wow! These irons are long!!! Not to mention straight. Really, my previous set of Tommy Armour 845 stripes do not compare. I liked my Tommy's but when I bought these Deep Reds I could not believe the difference. It took some time to get used to these babies. You reall have to let them do the work for you. Once I loosened my grip a little and swung nice a smooth WHOA!! Long and straight. I have shaved 5 strokes already and only played with them 5 rounds at the end of last season. Looking forward to this Spring!! I would tell anyone to give theses a try. Look on Ebay for theses thats where I found them for a steal!! Wilson Deep Red irons
Yes, the Deep Reds are longer. Yes, the Deep Reds are straighter. Yes, they are very forgiving. And yes, they're probably one of the best values you can find in a premium club. I had been playing Cleveland TA-5s and they're a good, solid, easy-to-hit club. I had steel sensicore shafts and they got rid of unwanted vibrations. They were my best set of irons...until now. These Deep Reds are something else. You can hit the hall all over the face and still salvage a decent shot. They play long, about a half-club to full club longer than the TA-5s. The ball flight is high, and it shoots off the club face. When your alingment is correct and your swing is good they just head right for the target, no hooking, no leaking. And I was amazed how easy the long irons are to hit. I thought the TA-5 3-iron was easy to hit, well, the Wilsons are even easier, and longer. And the sound is great. As for feel, they do exactly what I want -- no vibration or stingers. The Fluid Feel inserts in the steel shaft and head actually produce a softer feel than the Sensicore shaft. The head and shaft are relatively light for a steel set. Great weight and balance. And they're one nice looking set. If your handicap is 10 or above, you'll want to try these. I recently purchased the Wilson Deep Red Irons with Graphite Fat Shafts and these are some of the best irons I have played.
